Chapter 57 Alarm Handling

Zhou Dashan brought Xiao Huzi to the police station early in the morning. Since they were in the city, they went there early. The police station had just opened and there were not many people around.

Xiao Huzi and the police were telling the story of the case, with Zhou Dashan beside them. The police were a little bit surprised that it was a woman who did this. In their minds, women have always been weak and need protection.

Xiao Huzi had just finished telling the whole story, and the police were taking notes. The police present were all angry. This woman was so vicious. She actually attacked the child and harmed her own sister. She was worse than a beast.

Before he could finish being angry, Gu Feng and Gu Lang came. They came from the village, so they were a step late. As soon as Gu Feng and Gu Lang came in, they saw Xiao Huzi inside and guessed what was going on. When Zhou Dashan saw Gu Feng and Gu Lang, he also knew what they were discussing yesterday.

Yesterday, Zhou Dashan thought that his family was discussing something, so he left in a hurry for their convenience without telling them his plans.

Although Gu Feng and the others knew that things would become much easier if Xiao Huzi showed up, Xiao Huzi had just woken up and the accident was more or less related to him, so he didn't dare to mention it to Zhou Dashan, nor did he want to implicate the child.

"Uncle, you are here too?" Gu Lang spoke first.

"Yes, I don't want my children to encounter such things in the future, and I don't want such dangerous people to be in the village. This time it was Xiao Huzi, and next time it might be someone else, so I thought of calling the police." Zhou Dashan said

"Brother Gu Feng, Brother Gu Lang, why are you here too? That bad woman is the one who hurt you." Xiao Huzi said

"Do you know each other?" asked Huang Weiqiang, the police officer who had just handled the case.

"Brother Policeman, this is the Brother Gu Feng I just mentioned." Xiao Huzi introduced

"Hello, my surname is Huang. I am in charge of Xiao Huzi's case now." Huang Weiqiang briefly introduced himself.

"Officer Huang, we are all here for the same thing. I'm sorry to bother you with this matter." Gu Feng said

"Not a bother? Serving the people? Can you guys tell me about it too?"

Gu Feng told the police everything from Meng Lu's appearance, to Gu Lang looking for him, to Gu Lang's Chinese medicine and Meng Lu's confession.

"Comrade Gu, can this Meng Lu testify for you?"

"It should be possible. She promised to correct Fan Yao yesterday."

"Does she have any concrete evidence to prove that it was Fan Yao who approached her, or that the drink was given to her by Fan Yao?" Officer Huang asked.

"I'm not sure about this. Yesterday we asked her why she drugged me and she said that. We're not sure if there's any evidence." Gu Feng said

"Is the rest of the bottle still there? We'd like to test its contents."

"Yes, I have it here." Gu Lang said as he handed it over.

"You are the Gu Lang who drank by mistake." the police asked

"Yes." Gu Lang replied.

"Do you have any grudge against this Fan Yao?"

"Fan Yao is my wife's cousin. We grew up together, but there's a big gap between their family conditions. She always feels that my wife is superior to her and blocks her light, so she has always wanted to frame my wife and replace her." Gu Feng said.

"Has she harmed you before? Why didn't you report it?" asked Officer Huang.

"She drugged my wife before, hoping to have gangsters ruin her innocence. Later, I rescued her and she became my current wife. When we got married, she hired someone to ruin my wife's appearance. The person she sent before was called Wang Yueru. Later, she had an affair with someone and framed me for hiring someone to ruin her innocence." Gu Feng spoke slowly, telling everything she had done.

"It was just that someone helped me turn left, so I was safe. Later, my wife became pregnant and stayed at home for the sake of the child. She couldn't find a chance, so she asked someone to drug me." Gu Feng said.

"Then why didn't you call the police?"

"We have no evidence. I'm safe only if she framed me and there's witnesses to prove it. As for her, we only know she did it, but we can't find any evidence. We're at our wit's end this time. We're afraid she'll go too far, so we're asking you for help." Gu Feng continued.

"The previous incident was indeed difficult to handle. It happened a long time ago, and the evidence is hard to find. It's really troublesome to handle it without evidence. Police investigations are all about evidence, and we can't just make a conviction without evidence."

"But the situation this time should be similar. Your two cases can indeed be investigated together. You can go back first. We need to investigate first. We will notify you if there is anything else." Officer Huang said

"You must protect Little Tiger. He is the most powerful witness right now. Try not to let the other party find out that Little Tiger is awake, so that they won't be on guard."

"Also, be careful with Menglu. Don't let anything happen to her. Try to get her to think about who has seen her so she doesn't get framed. If we go out, we might alert the enemy. That girl is quite ruthless. We'll have to wait for the test results and investigate. We need to act quickly."

After that, Officer Huang had someone test the drink and then instructed another person to go buy the drink to see if it was purchased by Fan Yao. Although this might not necessarily yield a result, they still had to go and check; this was procedure. In the city, there were many people buying drinks, unlike in the village where you'd only see a few people buying drinks all year round.

On the other side, Gu Lang and Gu Feng went back and told Meng Lu that they had called the police, and asked her to think carefully about her contact with Fan Yao, preferably with someone who could prove it. She should also keep an eye on the movements next door, fearing that Meng Lu had really been harmed.

After coming out of the police station, Xiao Huzi did not go home. In broad daylight, someone would definitely know that Xiao Huzi was awake. He thought of waiting until night when there was no one around and then quietly go home and wait for the police to take action.

Everyone thought it would take several days. The next morning, Zhou Dashan and his friends were preparing to go to the hospital again, pretending that Xiao Huzi hadn't woken up yet. Unexpectedly, they ran into the police. They told them to go to the brigade to prepare for the case to be handled there. It was convenient here for witnesses and other things.

The other half also sent someone to Gu's house. Gu Feng and Gu Lang didn't expect it to happen so soon. A group of people hurried to the brigade with Meng Lu, and another person went to find Fan Yao. When she saw the police coming to find her, she felt something was wrong. Could it be that she was exposed? She had been waiting for news that something had happened to Gu Feng, but she never got it. Could it be that she was discovered and nothing happened?

"Officer, have you come to the wrong place? Did something happen?" She had to find out some information and see how to deal with it later.

"Officer, my wife has been doing fine recently and hasn't gone out to cause any trouble. Why are you looking for her?" Ergouzi also asked. It seemed that Fan Yao was either at work or not at home recently, so she probably didn't do anything.

"There's something I need to take her over for questioning. You can come with me." The policeman thought for a moment and said that since they were a couple, it would be better to see it in person. Although it would be embarrassing if the wife's affair were revealed, it would be better to see her face so that others would not say they didn't believe it.

This man is really pitiful. How could he end up with such a wife? If he knew that he was forced to marry her, he would probably sympathize with him more.
