Chapter 378: Collective Downing of Kittens
There was a bunch of newborn kittens in the cat's nest. Their eyes were not yet open. They were huddled together and whimpering.
Yao Tao's heart almost melted.
"Wow, what a cute little dumpling!"
I counted them and there were five in total.
The tabby cat curled up into a ball, trapping the kitten inside.
Yao Tao really wanted to touch the kitten, but she held back.
Although she has never raised a cat, she has heard that if a wild animal's newborn cub is touched by a human, its mother may abandon it because its smell has changed.
She didn't want this to happen.
Be patient, and when the kitten grows up a little, you can rub it.
Bai Lin was also looking at the kittens, a litter of whimpering little balls, plump and soft. He sniffed them and said, "They smell like milk."
"They're not food, so you can't eat them," Yao Tao explained quickly. "They smell like milk because they drank their mother's milk. The smell will go away when they grow up."
Bai Lin nodded as if he understood, but still licked his lips with his tongue.
Yao Tao's heart was filled with alarm.
This guy is at the top of the food chain, there is nothing he won't eat.
But don't let him treat this litter of kittens as a snack.
After thinking about it, she decided to play the family card.
"These kittens must be Big Orange's children." She pointed at Big Orange, "Big Orange is one of our family. If you eat its kittens, it will be sad."
Bai Lin looked at the orange cat, then at the five little balls in the nest, and nodded seriously, "I understand."
I understand.
Yao Tao finally breathed a sigh of relief and went back to her respective bedrooms with Bai Lin to rest.
She had just come out of the shower and was putting on a facial mask when she heard the big orange cat howling outside, and the other cats joined in.
Yao Tao thought that the enemy had come, and when she rushed out she found that there was no one outside.
"What are you barking for?" she asked the restless orange cat that was jumping up and down.
Big Orange: "Ahhhhh!"
It even came over and bit her clothes, dragging her to the cat's nest at the top of the tree.
Yao Tao thought it still wanted her to see the kitten, so she followed it.
But this time, it took Yao Tao to the cat's nest not of the tabby cat, but of the white lion cat.
"Aoaoao!" Big Orange tried to put his head into the lion cat's nest, but was knocked out by the lion cat's claw.
The big orange dog felt very aggrieved after being beaten, and lay down with his ears drooping.
Yao Tao curiously put her head into the lion cat's nest and was surprised to see that the lion cat had just given birth to a kitten of the same white color.
The kitten was wet and had a long umbilical cord dragging from it.
Yao Tao was stunned.
Is this... a collective birth?
Yao Tao looked at the orange cat, "This is all your fault!"
Daju looked very proud.
Yao Tao was still a little confused when she got down from the cat bed.
She had expected the cats to have kittens, but she hadn't expected them to come so soon.
It seems that we need to prepare some special confinement meals for the big cats.
Yao Tao took a stainless steel basin, poured some canned cat food into it, and went to the kitchen to stew a pot of mutant bird soup.
After the soup was ready, Yao Tao brought out the soup bowl, only to see Bai Lin and Da Ju squatting on the ground in the same posture.
Yao Tao: "...This soup is not for you."
Bai Lin and Da Ju hung their heads and ears respectively.
Yao Tao sighed helplessly.
Everyone in the family is a foodie.
Fortunately, they are all very good at catching prey, otherwise they might really have eaten their family into poverty.
"The tabby cats have given birth to kittens and need nutrition. You can't compete with them for it." She patiently explained to Bai Lin and Da Ju.
"A cat has just given birth to kittens. Drinking soup will help it produce more milk and feed the kittens."
After hearing this, Bai Lin and Da Ju both became obedient and watched her carry the soup to the cat's nest on the top of the tree.
In the middle of the night, Yao Tao was woken up by Daju's cry again.
She came out sleepily to check.
I saw the big orange cat circling around in front of the cow cat's cat bed, anxiously trying to put its head into the bed.
But every time it stuck its head in, it was slapped by the cow cat's ruthless claws.
Yao Tao's heart skipped a beat.
No way, no way, it can't be such a coincidence...
She climbed up to check.
The black and white cow cat curled up with two small orange balls under its belly.
Yao Tao: “…”
Suddenly, I felt a lot of pressure.
