Chapter 396: Chatting Up

Chapter 396: Chatting Up

When Lu Jiancheng saw the name of Wen Jiming's team, he had an idea in his mind.

A lot of people gathered at the entrance of the team mission hall. They all wanted to see if they could join a team to make a living.

Lu Jiancheng mingled with them and asked people about the matter.

"Dude, which team do you want to join?"

"Of course it's the number one ranked team."

"What's the use of this credit ranking?" Lu Jiancheng asked.

"Are you new here?"

"Yes, I just arrived at the Ark a few days ago."

"Then let me tell you... A team's reputation is determined by its employer when they accept a mission. The higher the reputation, the stronger the team."

"Similarly, teams with strong capabilities will receive more missions and earn more money. Some employers will require teams to have a high level of credibility when issuing missions."

"Look at the task list. The highest-paying tasks require a team's reputation to be at least 50 points when accepted. A team can earn a maximum of 5 reputation points per task, and only if the employer gives a perfect score every time can they earn 5 reputation points."

Lu Jiancheng nodded to show that he understood. "So, as long as you join a team with a high reputation, you can make money, right?"

"Hey, that's easy to say, but the team has to want you too."

"Are there any restrictions on recruiting members into the team?" Lu Jiancheng was surprised.

"Of course. Do you think they accept just anyone?" Many of the survivors around sighed as this was mentioned. "We've already applied to four teams and were rejected by all of them."

Lu Jiancheng listened carefully to everyone's discussion and mentioned it subtly, "I want to join Wen Jiming's team. I wonder if there is a chance."

"Don't even think about it, it's impossible."

"Why?"

"Team Wen Jiming is very strict in recruiting members. You have to pass an assessment before you can officially join the team."

"What assessment?" Lu Jiancheng asked.

"It seems you really don't know anything. All members of Wen Jiming's team are proficient in archery. Their chances of success when they go out hunting are high, and the casualty rate among team members is quite low."

Lu Jiancheng was surprised.

You must know that casualties are inevitable during hunting in the apocalypse.

Get bitten and scratched by a mutant animal.

As long as it comes into contact with blood, it will mutate and become infected.

Sometimes, if your skin is pierced by mutated plants, there is also the risk of infection.

Casualties and reductions in personnel occurred frequently in each team, and they could only continue to recruit new people.

What does the lack of casualties prove?

First, it proves that Wen Jiming's team may have medical resources that can treat their team members.

That's why there were no casualties.

Secondly, it proved that their team members were excellent in skills, had rich combat experience, and were skilled in archery.

Who wouldn’t want to join a team like this?

The more Lu Jiancheng listened, the more itchy he felt.

If he could join such a safe team, he wouldn't have to worry about food and drink anymore.

But how can I join in?

He was just thinking of a solution when he heard someone say, "Look, that's Hagrid, the vice-captain of the Wen Jiming team."

Lu Jiancheng looked up and saw a tall, muscular man walking towards him with two team members.

They entered the lobby and went to the taskbar to check first.

Hagrid accepted the two highest-paying tasks, then went to the window and asked the staff to register and fill out the task agreement.

Lu Jiancheng's eyes flickered and he walked over quietly.

Hagrid finished filling out the agreement and was about to leave when he was suddenly stopped by someone.

"Are you from Wen Jiming's team?" The man asked him with a flattering smile on his face.

Hagrid frowned, "Our team is not accepting anyone for the time being."

He thought this person wanted to join the team and have fun.

"Wen Jiming and I are related. Can I meet him?" The man said anxiously, fearing that Hagrid would leave. "I didn't lie to you... If I lied to you, you could just take my life."

Hagrid then looked him over carefully. "What's your name?"

"Lu Jiancheng."

Hagrid recalled that among the people Wen Jiming had known before, there seemed to be no one named Lu Jiancheng.

"What is your relationship with him?"

"There are some things I can't say to your face...Take me to see him, and you'll understand everything when you see him."
