Chapter 528 Iron Worm Drink
A green long windbreaker appeared in Yao Tao's sight.
Yao Tao folded her right leg over her left leg and raised her foot elegantly.
The book lay open on her knees, and she lifted a page with her fingertips and turned the pages slowly.
"Beautiful lady, we meet again." Mr. Lu's voice came from above.
Yao Tao raised her head and faced Mr. Lu's grinning mouth and the green liquid dripping from his teeth.
She looked calmly at Mr. Lu and nodded at him, "Yes, we meet again."
Her calmness made Mr. Lu seem a little confused. "Don't you want to escape?"
"There's no need to run. This is the Ark." Yao Tao continued to read. "There are at least three surveillance cameras here. Our every move is under official surveillance."
Mr. Lu looked up at the cameras hanging above the rest area, his lips curled in disdain. "These things can't stop me."
"Yes, you are extremely fast. If you want to kill me, no one can stop you." Yao Tao said calmly, as if she was talking about something that had nothing to do with her.
Mr. Lu was very puzzled. "You seem very confident."
"Because I know you can't kill me here." Yao Tao closed the book and continued before Mr. Lu could reply, "I know you are General Wan's subordinate. Killing me would affect General Wan's reputation."
"You are wrong. I don't care about General Wan's reputation."
"If you really didn't care, you wouldn't have come to see me." Yao Tao opened the backpack beside her, took out a bottle of drink from it, unscrewed it and was about to put it to her mouth when she suddenly remembered something.
She handed the drink to the other person and said provocatively, "Want to drink something to cool down? It seems you can't kill me today."
Mr. Lu remained silent and refused to accept the drink.
"Are you afraid that I will poison you?" Yao Tao smiled, took back the drink bottle and took a sip herself.
Mr. Lu tilted his head and stared at Yao Tao.
Yao Tao could imagine that at this moment, behind the ski goggles, the pair of compound eyes were looking at her from a strange angle.
"It's impossible for me to be poisoned because he and I are of the same kind." He held out his hand to her and asked for the bottle of drink.
"I've already drunk this bottle." Yao Tao looked disgusted. She took out another bottle of drink from her backpack, unscrewed it and handed it over.
This time Mr. Lu did not refuse. He took it and drank it directly.
Yao Tao tried hard to restrain herself from looking at him and just savored her drink.
Mr. Lu drank the bottle of drink mixed with wireworms in one gulp, then looked down at her proudly.
"How does it taste?" Yao Tao asked calmly, "Aloe vera fruit drink, you've probably never had it before."
"It's sweet, like the body of an insect, fresh and juicy." Mr. Lu sat opposite her, twisting his head like an insect to look at the staff passing by outside the rest area.
Yao Tao didn't respond because what he described was really disgusting.
The two of them drank their drinks slowly.
When he was almost done drinking, Mr. Lu asked, "Where is he?"
"who?"
"You know who I'm talking about."
He was asking Bai Lin.
"I won't let you find him."
"We are of the same kind. I will find him eventually." Mr. Lu suddenly leaned forward, pulled his ski goggles down a little, revealing his terrifying compound eyes, staring at Yao Tao. "But my mission is only for him. Maybe you can be next."
"Do you know who I am?" Yao Tao held her breath, suppressing the instinctive fear brought about by Mr. Lu's approach.
"No, I don't know." Mr. Lu put his ski goggles back on. "I don't want to know. I'll just do whatever the higher-ups tell me to do."
"What do they want to do with him?" Yao Tao asked word by word.
"He's a precious specimen, but if it doesn't obey, it has to be recycled." Mr. Lu stood up and threw the empty bottle of drink on the ground with disdain. "Poison has no effect on me. You must be very sorry, beautiful lady."
Yao Tao didn't say anything and pursed her lips.
She looked vexed.
Mr. Lu laughed happily, "Next time you meet me, you won't be so lucky."
