Chapter 561: Building Fortifications
In the recruitment hall, the survivors gathered in front of the query device, staring at each other.
"This base isn't on the Ark?"
"Who's so bold as to move the base outside? Aren't they afraid of being trampled by mutant animals?"
"This is crazy... This guy can't recruit any team members, so let's disband."
"I heard that the Ark will leave here next spring. What will happen to the base then?"
"What else can I do? I can either throw it away or continue to live in it."
"With the Ark gone, can they survive outside?"
"Heh, I guess the person who registered the base is a lunatic."
Everyone was talking and preparing to disperse.
Yao Tao didn't know what the other survivors thought of her registering the base.
In fact, even if she knew, she wouldn't care.
In the past, she had to hide from others to prevent them from knowing her location.
Now that she has been officially recognized and has her own territory, she can openly build fortifications.
She went to the official supplies store and ordered a batch of anti-climbing and anti-destruction electric fences.
These things were commonly used in prisons before the end of the world to prevent prisoners from escaping.
However, workers and electricians are needed to install these things.
The main sources of electricity for the tree hole nest are solar energy and wind power generation, but the grid wall outside needs to be connected to a separate power source.
It took her a week to transport the electric fence back to the tree hole nest, and then she went to the task hall to post the task.
"We need workers to install the electric fence. Electricians. Commission is 500 Doomsday Coins per day, with one meal provided."
When the team members and survivors saw this mission, they all wanted to grab it, but when they saw that the mission was issued by the "Tree Hole Nest" base, they were all stunned.
It turned out to be a mission outside the Ark.
Is the safety of the mission outside guaranteed?
"500 Doomsday Coins a day isn't a lot, but it's still good enough to get a meal." Someone muttered.
"Who knows what to eat? I won't eat anything but dried meat and cold water."
Just then a middle-aged man walked over and took over the electrician's task.
Someone nearby recognized him and asked, "Li Lin, you never leave the Ark, so why did you accept this mission?"
Li Lin took the task and came over with a smile. "It's just a simple installation job, there's no fighting involved, and the food is good, so why not take it?"
"How come you don't know you don't have to fight?"
"Because I know the person who issued the task."
"Do you know who owns the Tree Hole Nest base?"
"Of course." Li Lin looked at the task list in his hand with a deep emotion, "She saved me at the beginning of the apocalypse, otherwise I would have died long ago."
"Whose base is that?"
"Her name is Yao Tao."
"I seem to have heard this name somewhere."
Li Lin smiled and reminded: "When you often go to the market to buy things, the food store outside the middle entrance of the market is owned by Yao Tao."
“I’ll go!”
The whole group of people remembered it.
"It turned out to be Boss Yao!"
"Boss Yao actually registered a base!"
"Why is it outside the Ark?"
Everyone asked Li Lin questions.
Li Lin was helpless, "How would I know?"
"Didn't Boss Yao save you? We thought you would be very familiar with her."
Li Lin smiled and didn't explain.
In the eyes of others, Li Lin should cling to his benefactor.
But Li Lin never thought so.
He understands technology and will not starve to death even in the Ark. Why should he bother to cling to the patron?
He has hands and feet and has always been doing well.
"The food provided by Boss Yao must be good." Someone in the crowd said.
"I'll take this mission!"
"Me too!"
Soon, more and more people came to take up the task.
Yao Tao originally thought it would take several days to gather the workers she wanted, but that very evening she found that all the people had been gathered.
Now that we have everything together, let’s get started!
Before setting off, Yao Tao gathered the workers at the Ark Wharf and held a brief meeting.
There were some things she had to make clear up front.
While the mutant animals outside the Ark were dangerous, the mutant cats and bosses in her territory were far more dangerous.
She wanted to remind them so that they wouldn't mistake the cats patrolling their territory for enemies.
