Chapter 696 Picking Ferns After the Rain
Yao Tao and Bai Lin had a meal of roasted lamb by the river.
Bai Lin ate the roasted lamb eggs as he wished.
"How does it taste?" Yao Tao carefully "interviewed" Bai Lin.
Bai Lin smacked his lips as if savoring what he had just eaten, "Not bad."
"You don't think it tastes better than mutton, do you?"
Bai Lin thought about it and nodded.
"So let's just eat mutton. It's boring." Yao Tao hoped that Bai Lin would never mention the "bell" again.
Bai Lin is one year older, but his childlike heart has never changed.
Rather than saying that he is as innocent as a child, it would be better to say that he has remained in his childhood.
No matter how his body and brain develop, his memory will always remain at the age of three.
As the most beautiful and carefree childhood period of a person, the number of beautiful memories left in Bai Lin’s heart can probably be counted on one hand.
"Shall we go look for supplies tomorrow?" Yao Tao suggested.
She has no shortage of supplies, but finding supplies is a fun thing for Bai Lin.
He could give free rein to his excess energy.
Bai Lin agreed.
Unexpectedly, it started to rain lightly the next day.
Spring rain is as precious as oil.
The drizzle fell, staying on the leaves to form crystal clear little water droplets.
This little rain couldn't stop them.
The mutant bear's fur is thick and completely impermeable to water.
Yao Tao was holding a red umbrella and sitting on the bear's back with Bai Lin.
The mutant bear carried them as they ran through the jungle.
As they ran across a meadow by the river, Yao Tao, with her sharp eyes, saw a curled young leaf growing on the ground.
Each one is like a child's fist.
"Stop!" Yao Tao called the mutant bear. "The bracken has grown. Let's pick some and take them back. They're delicious."
The mutant bear stopped obediently after hearing what Yao Tao said.
Yao Tao and Bai Lin jumped off the bear's back and went to the grass to pick ferns.
It has just rained and these ferns have just emerged from the ground. If you don't pick them now, they will be too old to eat after a few days when their front leaves unfold.
Yao Tao took out a basin from the space, picked ferns herself, and taught Bai Lin how to pick ferns.
The mutant bear was not idle either. It found a large piece of fern, lay down on the ground, and started chewing it with its mouth.
Fortunately, there were plenty of ferns, and Yao Tao didn't bother to compete with a bear for food.
The two men and the bear picked a few pots of ferns and continued on their way.
In the past, they searched for supplies by rummaging through the ruins, looking for entrances and entering buildings.
Now there are no other survivors except them, so Yao Tao simply lets Bai Lin "go big".
Cut away the upper part of the ruins to reveal the building underneath.
Using this method, Yao Tao found a lot of supplies.
Most of them are supplies from residential areas.
There wasn't much food that was preserved intact, most of it was daily necessities, old clothes, and furniture.
Yao Tao put all the old clothes, as long as they were clean, into the space.
These things can still be sold for a good price in the Ark.
Old furniture is also in great demand, not to mention daily necessities.
Pots, pans, and utensils are necessities of life.
Yao Tao tossed and turned in the residential area for several days.
That day they found the ruins of an upscale residential complex.
Yao Tao discovered many valuable pieces of furniture, all of which were well preserved.
After she collected the supplies, she turned around and found that Bai Lin was gone.
"Bai Lin?" She looked everywhere and found Bai Lin standing next to a slide covered with plants.
She looked around and found that this was originally a kindergarten.
There are slides, swivel chairs and swings in the kindergarten's yard.
It's just that they are all covered with plants.
Yao Tao pulled down the plants and cleaned them up, revealing the full appearance of the amusement facilities.
Bai Lin stood there, looking at them carefully, with light in his eyes.
Yao Tao thought of something and leaned over to ask quietly, "Do you know what this is?"
Bai Lin nodded, "I've seen them before."
Before he was three years old, he must have played on these facilities like other children, right?
That was one of the few good memories he had left.
