Jonas said, "Duke Ivan is here to see you."
He then told Renn what he and Duke Ivan had just discussed in the council chamber.
After saying that, Jonas speculated.
"It must be His Majesty's will that Duke Ivan came to see you."
"After all, you are the only one who has returned from the Land of Mist so far. His Majesty would like to inquire about the situation."
"But considering that you might be angry because of the head of the family, that's why Ivan was sent to sound you out."
"Do you want to see him or not?"
"If he doesn't see me, I'll send Duke Ivan away later."
After a moment of silence, Raine nodded and said, "Let's meet him. His Majesty still needs to give us an answer."
"I'll go there myself later, Uncle Qiao, you just go about your business."
"By the way, Uncle Qiao, absorb the treasure I gave you this morning as soon as possible. It will be very helpful to your depleted body right now."
Jonas nodded in agreement: "Thank you for your concern, young master. I will begin absorbing it once I have finished dealing with today's matters."
"I won't bother you any longer."
After Jonas left the garden, Ellie, who had just escaped, slowly floated up from the group of maids.

Two hours later, at midday, the sun was shining brightly overhead.
The sunlight, no longer as gentle as in the morning, had become scorching. Renn returned to his room with the maids, and after settling them in, he went downstairs alone to see Ivan.
As soon as Raine entered the council chamber, he saw Ivan get up from the sofa and quickly came over to greet him.
"Young Master Renn! It's been a long time!"
Renn nodded and smiled: "It's been a long time, Duke Ivan. What brings you here?"
Seeing Rein's appearance, Ivan finally felt relieved.
It seems this gentleman is in a pretty good mood.
"Ah, it's His Majesty who wants to see you."
"His Majesty was overjoyed to hear of your return and specially ordered me to come to the palace to see you."
Ryan nodded: "I understand. Now?"
Ivan chuckled: "Whatever, whatever you say."
"Let's go then. I'll take Caroline back with me too."
Before long, two carriages drove out of the Gray family compound and headed towards the royal city.
The Imperial Palace.
Caroline took Ryan's arm and they arrived at Albert's palace, with Ivan following behind them.
Upon entering the palace, Caroline released Ryan's arm and ran to Albert.
"Father!"
"Oh, Caroline? Let Father take a good look at her."
"Hmm, you've gained quite a bit of weight. Looks like that kid Renn treats you very well."
Albert laughed heartily at his daughter.
Caroline pouted, looking displeased: "Father!"
With a smile, Renn walked up to Albert, bowed, and said, "Your Majesty."
Albert waved his hand: "Don't call me Your Majesty, just call me Uncle. This isn't the outside world."
Ryan smiled and nodded: "Uncle."
Taking advantage of a lull in Albert and Ryan's conversation, Ivan interrupted, "Your Majesty, Ivan takes his leave."
Albert nodded and waved, then pulled Ryan to sit down on a chair nearby.
"Hmm, not bad. It's been a few years, and your strength has almost caught up with mine."
