Chapter 527 A Family (2/2)

After having breakfast served by the restaurant maids, Ryan went to Fred's room and went inside.

Inside the room, Fred, dressed in magnificent ducal attire, stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, quietly observing everything within the manor.

The disheveled lion lying on the bed has faded, replaced by a majestic lion with restrained power.

He held his first cigar of the period of recuperation in his hand, exhaled a puff of smoke with great satisfaction, his expression intoxicated, feeling extremely blissful.

Ford glanced at Ryan as he entered before looking away.

"Has the treasure been absorbed? How is the recovery going?" Renn walked into the room and sat down on a chair to ask.

Ford nodded: "Yes, the recovery is good. Just as you predicted, you've recovered about 60% of your strength."

After saying that, Ford raised his hand again and took a puff of his cigar.

"Here you go." Renn tossed a token to Ferde.

Fred reached out and caught the flying object, holding it in his palm.

Head of the household token.

"Now that you've recovered, Old Deng, you can go to the rest of the families," Raine said nonchalantly. Exterminating a clan is nothing compared to getting close to a maid.

Ferde put the family head token into his magic device. Upon hearing the words "Old Deng," he gave Renn a dangerous glance and spoke in a calm tone.

"Although I've only recovered 60%, dealing with you will still be a piece of cake. What? Want to try your hand with your old man? I've been itching for a fight."

Renn pursed his lips, thinking it was still uncertain who would win, but he still gave way to Fred verbally, since Renn's methods were not suitable for Fred.

"You should focus your energy on the remaining three major families," Renn said, waving his hand without any intention of fighting.

Ferde gave a soft hum and turned his gaze back to the lawn of the manor.

It's been more than half a year, and it's time to show his face and let others know that the lion's fangs are still sharp.

Let's start with these three major families...

Ding ding ding—

There was a knock on the door, and when Fred and Ryan looked over, Lyra pushed the door open and came in.

As soon as Leila entered, she smelled a whiff of smoke and immediately frowned.

But when she saw Fred get out of bed, still wearing the Duke's magnificent clothes, Lyra was stunned for a moment, then her eyes lit up with surprise.

"Fred, you've recovered!?" Lyra ran up to Fred and exclaimed in surprise.

Ford slung the cigar behind his back, and the lion, knowing that Lyra disliked the smell of smoke, pinched the cigar off with his thumb.

"Yes, she's recovered a lot after absorbing Renn's treasure." Ferde gently lowered his head and kissed Lyra's forehead, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Lyra nodded, pleased with Ford's reply, and said to Ryan, who was getting up from his chair.

“Raine, go and call Yavin over. You need to let him know that your father has recovered.”

Renn smiled and nodded, then walked out of the room. He soon returned with a delighted-looking Yavin.

“Father!” Yawen approached Fred with a face full of excitement and bowed to him.

Fred nodded with a smile.

Lyra, nestled in Fred's arms, gave instructions to Raine and Yavin, who were being held by Fred.

"You two go and tell the kitchen to prepare some food so our family can have a proper meal."

Ryan and Yavin nodded. Although it wasn't lunchtime yet, they felt there was no problem.

Soon, a table of delicious food was laid out in Fred's room, and the four of them took their seats.

No maids were used; it was just the harmonious family gathering.

At the dinner table, Yawen saw that his father had truly recovered completely, and the light in his eyes had returned.

Although his interest in adventure has diminished considerably, he has made up his mind to help his younger brother govern the Grey family well.

The celebratory feast was quickly finished, and the maids came in to clear the table.

Ford coughed twice at Ryan and Yavin, his eyes darting between them and the doorway, his intention to make them leave clear.

Yawen didn't notice his father's suggestive glance, as he was thinking about other family matters.

Ryan looked at Old Deng with a mocking expression, and only after sensing the dangerous red glint in Old Deng's eyes did he pull Yawen away from the room.

After Ryan and his companion left the room, Ford put his arm around Lyra's slender waist and grinned shamelessly.

"Leila..."

Lyra gave Fred a charmingly disdainful look, got up from Fred's lap, walked to the French windows and drew the curtains.

"Go wash up first," Leila said, blushing.

Fred chuckled, picked up Lyra, and headed towards the bathroom.
