The dwarf trembled as he watched his companion fall. He didn't understand why he was the only one who hadn't fainted, and he looked nervously at Raine.
Ryan looked at him and said:
"You can leave now."
“Go back and tell Gregory that I, Renn, am in the Elf Forest. From now on... don’t try anything funny under my nose. Her Majesty the Queen tolerates him for the sake of the bigger picture, but I won’t.”
"Understand?"
The dwarf was overjoyed to hear that he could leave, and naturally obeyed Rein's orders.
"Yes, I understand. I will pass it on to His Majesty the King."
After saying that, the dwarf ran off towards a location far from the elven forest.
But before he could run two steps, he was stopped by Ryan.
"Oh, by the way, take off your armor. I'm quite interested in your dwarven rune equipment."
Upon hearing this, the dwarf's relief instantly turned into determination.
His enchanted equipment represented his honor among the dwarves! A lifetime of honor! If he lost even that honor, what was the point of his life?
“My lord, please forgive me, Arthur, for I cannot grant your wish. Mage-enchanted equipment is a dwarf’s lifelong honor.”
"It is more important than rum, more important than my lover, more important than my life!"
"If you insist, then... kill me."
The dwarf Arthur stopped running and stood beside Renn, taking out a hammer from his magical artifact and assuming a fighting stance.
Arthur's appearance made Renn look at this middle-aged dwarf, who barely reached his navel, for the first time.
"Aren't you afraid of death?" A sword appeared in Renn's hand.
"I fear returning without honor more than death."
“With honor, at least after I die, my lover and son can inherit everything I have and continue to enjoy the life of the upper class,” Arthur said.
Ryan stared intently into Arthur's eyes, those brown eyes meeting Ryan's gaze, but Ryan saw no fear in them.
"Heh, that's interesting."
"Take one of my moves, and if you survive, you can leave with your glory."
Arthur nodded and assumed a defensive stance: "Please, sir, make your move."
Raine raised his longsword high and gently brought it down on Arthur. The next moment, a terrifying magical sword aura emanated from Raine's longsword.
Arthur's pupils contracted as he saw the crescent-shaped sword beam that was several times taller than him, and he charged forward with his iron hammer in hand.
Bang--
The two collided, instantly unleashing a shockwave.
Arthur's hammer was shattered by the sword's edge, which continued its relentless advance straight towards Arthur's chest, striking his enchanted equipment with tremendous force.
"Pfft!" Arthur spat out a mouthful of blood, severely injured and sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground and collapsing a patch of grass.
"Cough cough."
Before long, Arthur shakily got up from the ground and bowed to Renn.
"Thank you... for your mercy, sir."
"Get lost, and don't ever show your face in front of me again." Renn turned his head away.
He naturally held back; if he really wanted Arthur dead, no matter how he attacked, Arthur would not survive.
However, the fact that Arthur was a dwarf who valued honor reminded Renn of the knights in his family, so he held back.
Arthur nodded, took a bottle of red healing potion from his magic device, drank it, and then ran wildly into the distance.
