Chapter 211 Physical Exhaustion

Even though Li Qing was running in the lead, he couldn't help but feel terrified, always feeling that the mammoth behind him would catch up quickly and eat him.

"I'm already in this state, I wonder how those people running at the very back are feeling," Li Qing thought to himself as he looked back.

This enormous mammoth wasn't very fast, but its main advantage was its long stride; one stride was equivalent to several strides for others. This kept the fleeing crowd on high alert. If they were even a step slower, the consequence would be being pierced through the heart by the mammoth's tusks.

Most of the time, Li Qing didn't have time to look back. He could only judge his position and that of the mammoth by the sounds. Every now and then, he would hear the sound of objects collapsing. It seemed that the mammoth's dictionary did not contain the word "detour". Whatever obstacle was in front of it? It would just smash through it!

This can't go on. Li Qing grew increasingly anxious and had no choice but to turn around quickly and shout back, "We can't fight a protracted battle on the main road. We'll have to take the side road!"

With that, they plunged into the dense forest and ran along the path towards the cliff. The distance was longer than running in a straight line, but the overgrown weeds, trees, and even some carnivorous plants along the way could buy them a lot of time. They would naturally avoid the carnivorous plants when they saw them, but given the size of the mammoth or its temperament, it would probably just walk right through without a second thought. In that case, the carnivorous plants wouldn't kill it, but they would also buy them time.

Not long after Li Qing disappeared into the woods, a loud noise was heard.

The mammoths followed and crawled in.

"You dare to chase me? I'll make you pay for this!"

Li Qing cursed inwardly, ran a few steps forward, then turned a corner, bypassed a giant carnivorous plant, and prepared to continue running forward.

The road ahead is extremely dangerous; a slight misstep could cost you your life. You must be extremely careful.

After running for a while, Li Qing worried that the people behind him might be careless, so he turned around to remind them to be careful. But as soon as he turned around, he saw that the people who had been following him were nowhere to be found.

Only Li Qing remained around!

Damn! Are these guys kidding me? Where did they go at this crucial moment?!

Li Qing was so anxious he was about to curse. The mammoth was nearby, and they were still trying to disappear. Did they know how dangerous it was? He had already consciously controlled his running speed, but what if they still lost him?

Just as Li Qing thought of this, he saw Boye and several other people running over. Seeing Li Qing standing still as if waiting for them, they waved anxiously and said, "Run, Mai Zi!"

"Where did the chief and the others go? Where are they? Where's Big Black?" Li Qing asked anxiously. "Why are you the only ones here?"

Boye and several other soldiers ran up to Li Qing, pressed their hands to their knees, and panted, saying, "They...they're all behind us."

What are they all doing in the back?

Li Qing asked again.

I was already starting to want to curse. At a time like this, you "chatterbox" insist that I ask you a question and you answer it?

"Several warriors from the Black Wind Tribe fell down due to exhaustion. The chief and the others were helping them, and then we..."

"You just ran away?" Li Qing was furious when he heard this. "Now that they've joined our tribe, they're family. You just left them there and ran off with a few people? Are you kidding me!"

Boye was taken aback, looking at Li Qing with a strange expression, as if he found it odd that Li Qing was angry at them for the sake of the Black Wind Tribe.

Li Qing took a few steps forward, placed his hands on Boye's shoulders, and asked, "So, Dahei and the others are all in the back? What about the mammoth? If someone is injured, or someone goes to rescue someone, then surely the mammoth wouldn't just stand there standing there?"

Boye looked away, avoiding eye contact with Li Qing, and awkwardly replied, "I don't know. Anyway, we didn't see the mammoth at the time. Maybe the terrain here is too chaotic, and the mammoth couldn't find us and went somewhere else."

Li Qing took a deep breath, trying hard to control his emotions.

Finally, Li Qing released his hands and said quietly, "Here's what we'll do. You go first, follow the path I'm pointing to, keep going straight until you reach the end, then turn left. After passing a large landslide, you should reach the cliff. When you get there, just shout 'Big Bird!' and the strange bird I mentioned will come and take you down. Anyway, just go down and meet the rest of the tribe."

Boye was taken aback and asked, "Wheat, what about you?"

"You don't need to worry about me anymore."

Li Qing said coldly.

Knowing he was in the wrong, Boye smiled somewhat embarrassedly at Li Qing, then looked at the brothers from the tribe who had come with him.

This time, Boye was alright, but the people he brought couldn't hold back any longer. One of them even asked, "Maizi, they're just a bunch of beasts from the Black Wind Tribe. Is it really necessary for us to act like this?"

His words seemed to open a floodgate of complaints, and the others also started to complain. Some even brought up the fact that Li Qing wanted to return to the tribe first, criticizing him for not caring about the tribe's affairs but for being so concerned about the Black Wind Tribe.

One problem after another came in quick succession.

Li Qing was about to continue his journey when he heard these questions, so he turned back and said quietly, "We killed their chieftain, as well as Tashan and other high-ranking warriors, and concealed it as an accident—we had no choice but to do this for our purposes. Fortunately, everything went smoothly according to plan."

"But no matter what, we've killed so many people from the Black Wind Tribe, and we've already taken our revenge. These young people from the Black Wind Tribe have joined us because they 'trust' us. If we abandon them and make a mistake on top of a mistake, then what difference is there between us and the Black Wind Tribe?"

After saying that, Li Qing stopped trying to persuade Boye and his companions to do anything. He remained silent for a while, then smiled and said, "Do whatever you want. I'm going to help them now."

Then, he hurriedly abandoned Boye and the others, and returned the way Boye had come.
