Chapter 59 Blackfoot

Li Qing was quite certain that his intuition was correct; the roads here were very narrow and enclosed, and he could sense anything unusual immediately.

"Counterclockwise, what does that mean?"

"To put it simply, we've been moving to the left and back, which means we're very likely to return to the spot where we first saw the giant centipedes, just at a higher altitude."

Li Qing deliberately stretched out one hand and gestured upwards to explain to Xiong Ga.

Xiong Ga was very clever and understood Li Qing's meaning immediately. He frowned and slowly said, "Now that you mention it, it seems we are indeed... wait, look!"

As Xiong Ga was speaking, they turned a corner and came to another road. This road was no longer straight ahead, but rather in a circular shape.

On one side of the road, several small windows were opened around the earthen walls.

They walked toward the "small window" and looked down.

The corpses of a dozen or so dark brown centipedes lay quietly on the ground. The large, dark purple centipede and the whiteflies were nowhere to be found. It seemed that even with their numerical advantage, these centipedes were still no match for the large centipede.

"They're back after all!"

Li Qing couldn't help but cry out in surprise.

They are now about ten meters above the centipede corpses below.

Before they knew it, they had climbed more than ten meters.

These "small windows" were dug so small, each one being long and narrow, that when the two arrived at the open space, they didn't even notice that there were several such "small windows" on the earthen wall above.

They can't be blamed for this.

At the time, they didn't know what awaited them ahead, so they naturally regarded this place as an ordinary centipede cave and focused their attention on the several cave entrances. They never expected that there was another secret hidden in the earthen wall.

Li Qing held onto the "window" with both hands, looked down, then looked up, and turned to Xiong Ga behind him, saying, "As expected, there are several other places above and below that are the same as here."

Li Qing leaned against the earthen wall, his arms crossed over his chest.

"Roads have been dug out all over this place, so it's not an ordinary centipede cave... It must have been built by the Mishan tribe."

Xiong Ga then thought of something else: "So, those centipedes... were also intentionally placed here by the Mishan tribe?"

"Um."

Li Qing nodded.

He said in a deep voice, "That's very possible."

"How could this be... Why would they do this?" Xiong Ga couldn't hide his surprise.

"Shh, keep your voice down!"

Li Qing pointed behind Xiong Ga.

"There should be people from the Mishan tribe around here!"

Xiong Ga looked behind him.

He was so astonished by what he saw that he forgot about the deep, dark holes behind him.

Based on their current findings, Xiong Ga had a bad feeling.

He immediately shut up.

He waved to Mane, beckoned Mane over, and told Mane that from now on, he needed to be really vigilant.

Li Qing continued looking down.

He was not disgusted by the gruesome sight of the centipedes dying.

“The architectural style here feels like something from medieval Western Europe,” Li Qing frowned, thinking, “What a terrible discovery. But on the bright side, since the Mishan tribe has developed this place so thoroughly, there must be a path leading out. This path probably isn’t too complicated. For the Mishan tribe, this should be a kind of ‘entertainment facility,’ not a maze they deliberately set up. So…”

Just as he was thinking this, the mane suddenly let out an uneasy roar.

Li Qing was startled and looked at the mane.

The creature arched its body and, facing a spot in the darkness, let out several fierce snorts from its nostrils.

"What's going on? Is someone there?"

Just then, a voice came from the darkness.

"wheat?"

He calls himself Wheat!?

Who is he, and how does he know my name?

Also, why does his voice sound so familiar?

Li Qing immediately looked into the darkness.

"Who's that guy next to you? And why is he with that big brown bear? Is it that guy's?"

The long sentence finally reminded Li Qing of the speaker's identity.

Black feet!

"Li Qing, who is he? How does he know your name?" Xiong Ga lowered his head and patted his mane, remaining vigilant against the other party's preemptive strike.

"He is Blackfoot, a member of the White Feather tribe."

Li Qingdao.

He was utterly shocked.

How could I see Blackfoot here? Why is he in this place?

"The White Feather Tribe?" Xiong Ga frowned in surprise.

"What a coincidence, Mai Zi, I didn't expect to see you here."

roar!

The mane roared again.

Blackfoot seemed startled by the mane. He paused for a moment, then stammered, "Could you please have your friend be quiet? I have no hostility towards you."

The unpleasant memory of Liang Menghe resurfaced in Li Qing's mind. He snorted and asked, "And why are you here?"

"That's a long story," Blackfoot sighed, a hint of weariness creeping into his voice.

At this point, Blackfoot laughed again, "Anyway, all you need to know is that I have no hostility towards you."

How can this be proven?

Xiong Ga asked on Li Qing's behalf.

"Who exactly are you? I don't remember having a guy like you in the Red Flower Tribe. Besides, apart from Wheat keeping a big black dog, no one else there should be keeping anything, right?"

"Qingye Tribe, Xiong Ga." Xiong Ga introduced himself, but did not mention that he was the tribe's chief.

“So you’re from the Green Leaf Tribe. Things are getting more and more interesting,” Black Foot said. “Hehe, Wheat, what exactly did you go through on your journey? Why are you with the people of the Green Leaf Tribe? Normally, unless the Green Leaf Tribe takes the initiative to come out to trade with other tribes, it’s impossible to find any trace of the Green Leaf Tribe, let alone come to this godforsaken place with the people of the Green Leaf Tribe.”

"mane."

"Hey, wait a minute," Blackfoot hurriedly said in a panic, "I was just joking with you guys, don't take it seriously, I really want to cooperate with you."

Xiong Ga was extremely wary of this guy who hadn't shown his face at all, and said in an icy tone, "Cooperation? What cooperation? We don't even know what you look like. If you're really sincere about cooperating with us, why are you hiding in a corner and refusing to come out?"

Blackfoot chuckled dryly and said, "I'm injured and can't move now. If you don't believe me, come and see for yourselves by following the sound."

“That’s enough, we’re not interested in you,” Xiong Ga said to Li Qing. “Mai Zi, let’s go.”

"Don't rush!" Blackfoot called out urgently, then suddenly chuckled in a low voice, "I know how to leave here, you'd better think it over before you go!"
