Chapter 61 Concealment

Blackfoot's tone was so arrogant, yet the two men couldn't refuse the price he offered.

Whatever the reason, they had to return to their respective tribes immediately.

“Okay, we agree,” Xiong Ga said.

Li Qing said, "Wait a moment."

He said to Blackfoot, "We can agree to your request, but we have one condition."

"Oh, tell me about it?"

Blackfoot said with great interest.

Li Qing said, "No matter how sweet or flowery your words are, we can't completely trust you yet. So when you lead us away from here, you must go first and clear the way for us."

Blackfoot exclaimed in surprise, "You're not stupid after all."

"Should I say yes or no?"

Li Qing didn't waste any more words with Black Foot and looked directly into Black Foot's eyes.

"Can."

Blackfoot said easily.

“Alright, now you can help me get this off my hands,” Blackfoot said, reaching out his hand. “This thing has been tied to my hands for so long.”

Li Qing thought to himself that even if Black Foot still had some strange ideas, he was too badly injured to carry them out. So he turned to Xiong Ga and nodded, saying, "Alright, that's fine now."

Xiong Ga nodded and, using the unique abilities of their Qingye tribe, conveyed his thoughts to Zong Mao.

Mane was very loyal to Xiong Ga and did not question Xiong Ga's decision. It gently pulled on the straw rope with its two paws, and the entire straw rope was broken by Mane.

Soon, all four straw ropes were easily snapped by the mane's incredible strength.

Black Foot struggled to his feet. As he waved his hands and made some simple movements to recover, he said to Xiong Ga in surprise, "I've long heard that your Qingye tribe has the ability to communicate with animals. Today I've witnessed it firsthand. It's truly amazing. By the way, what level warrior are you?"

“That’s not your concern,” Li Qing answered for Xiong Ga. “Lead the way.”

"Tsk tsk."

Blackfoot shook his head and sighed, wondering why he hadn't seen Wheat lately; his temper seemed to have changed completely.

"Come on, follow me."

Blackfoot uttered a single sentence and then limped away.

"Remember to keep your distance from him, just in case," Li Qing said to Xiong Ga.

Blackfoot had already walked some distance ahead. He seemed to hear Li Qing and Xiong Ga whispering behind him. He said impatiently, "When I was brought here, I looked at the general terrain and knew this place very well. There are no traps here, and no Mishan tribe people—at least not for now. They are not here, or at least they are still a long way away."

"Hurry up, I need to get back to the White Feather Tribe as soon as possible."

"Hmph," Li Qing sneered, "I still don't trust the Baiyu Tribe. This is fine as it is. You're anxious, and so are we, but we can't blindly trust someone like you."

Black Feet shrugged, said nothing more, and continued to limp slowly forward.

...

This place is indeed very large, with a complex network of roads. Even though Li Qing didn't want to believe it, he had to admit that without Black Foot, they would have had a very difficult time leaving this place.

There were forks in the road everywhere, and uneven roads everywhere. Blackfoot would sometimes lead them down some roads, but as they walked, other forks would appear in the middle of the road, leading uphill.

This place was much more complicated than the tunnel that Mang Hu had led Li Qing through to the Qingye tribe. As they went deeper, the three of them had to be more careful because they heard clattering sounds coming from inside the walls. This meant that they had already "deepened" into the territory of the Mishan tribe.

Unbeknownst to them, they had climbed higher and higher, and the higher they went, the more difficult it became to walk on the ground. This made Li Qing feel a little strange. In his memory, they were definitely not that far from the ground. Logically speaking, having climbed to this height, they should have already climbed out of the ground. How could they still be underground?

But then he thought about it and realized that the terrain could change at any time, so Li Qing forced himself to relax.

Where are we now?

Xiong Ga suddenly asked.

Blackfoot just smiled mysteriously and said, "You'll find out soon enough."

The higher they went, the steeper the ground became, making it increasingly difficult for Black Foot to walk. He took a few more steps, leaned against the wall, and gasped for breath, saying, "We've arrived."

Ahead of Blackfoot was a narrow path, even narrower than the place where the deep purple centipede lived, only wide enough for a brown bear the size of a mane to lie down and leave.

This could not possibly have been built by the people of the Mishan tribe.

"What do you mean?"

Xiong Ga asked in an unfriendly tone.

Even a fool could see that this is not a normal road.

Blackfoot chuckled and said, "Don't you understand? This is the right and safe path. Only by taking this route can we leave this damned place!"

Xiong Ga was slightly taken aback, but he quickly understood what Black Foot meant and gritted his teeth, saying, "Why didn't you say so earlier!"

This feeling of being deceived made him very angry.

Blackfoot said helplessly, "What can we do? Are we supposed to take the road guarded by the Mishan tribe and fight our way through? With your seemingly weak appearance and your big brown bear?"

“Wheat is a level one warrior. Before I returned to the tribe, I was practically useless. The four of us are all of no use, so let’s not go looking for death,” Blackfoot pointed to the road and said, “I noticed this road when I was captured. It definitely leads outside. You can rest assured about that.”

"Forget it, let's go," Li Qing said softly to Xiong Ga. "Anyway, we have Black Foot scouting ahead. If there's any danger ahead, he'll be the one who suffers."

"You really know how to talk."

Blackfoot said with a vicious sneer.

Li Qing wasn't angered by Black Foot's tone. He chuckled easily and said, "What, you're not happy about it? Go ahead and hit me."

"hey-hey."

Blackfoot chuckled but didn't retort. He braced himself against the wall and crawled into the narrow path.

"Let's go, we should catch up, there's no time to lose."

Li Qing turned to Xiong Ga and said.

As he spoke, he crawled on his hands and knees behind Black Feet.

At this point, this was the only option left, so Xiong Ga had no choice but to help Xiong Ga squeeze into the path first, and then he himself rolled over and climbed into the path.

“This guy actually managed to get in,” Blackfoot said, turning around to see Mane crawling pitifully in the narrow passage. He laughed gleefully. “I thought it wouldn’t be able to get in. This is hilarious.”

"Stop talking nonsense!" Li Qing said coldly, "Otherwise, the first thing we'll do after we get out is kill you."
