Chapter 44 Competition: First Round of Rematch

The bell rang to signal the end of the competition. The teachers came down one by one to collect the test papers. After dawdling for about ten minutes, Shen Qingqing finally walked out of the examination room with the crowd.

The senior student sitting behind her walked behind her with a sigh.

Shen Qingqing recalled the content of the semi-final exam. If the proportion of domestic and foreign classics in the preliminary round was 60% domestic and 40% foreign, then the semi-final round would be 50/50.

However, most of the questions were content that had appeared in the review materials. Except for a few fill-in-the-blank questions that required reading the original text and making connections to arrive at the answers, the rest were not difficult questions.

This senior student is the one who scored 95 points in the preliminary round. She doesn't seem like the type of person who would find the exam questions difficult.

After leaving the examination room, the Chinese teacher was still waiting for them in the same spot where the preliminary round was taking place. Next to him stood another senior student from an older grade.

Shen Qingqing glanced at his expression. Although he wasn't as confident as he was in the preliminary round, he seemed quite relaxed.

Just as I walked up to the Chinese teacher, I heard a senior student ask, "Wu Ziqi, did you pretend you didn't do well on the test to fool the little girl again? Look, she's too scared to say a word when she's next to you!"

Shen Qingqing blinked and waved her hands frantically. "No! Don't talk nonsense!" She didn't speak because she didn't know anyone, not because she was afraid!

Then she saw the senior student called Wu Ziqi, who had been sighing and complaining, slowly raise her fist and count down in a clear, light voice: "Three, two..."

"Sister, I'm sorry, I was just joking with you!"

Seeing that he was about to be hit, Shen Qingqing couldn't help but laugh at the senior's expression.

"Chen Qingyu, if you can't speak properly, shut your mouth. If I hear you say anything slanderous about me again, I'll beat you in front of your mother." Wu Ziqi's voice and the content of her words were completely disconnected.

Shen Qingqing was stunned, especially by the speed at which her senior Chen Qingyu slid to his knees, which was exactly the same as those "I'm going to climb the Shu Road" videos she watched on Douyin in her previous life.

"Alright, don't be discouraged if you didn't do well on the test. It's just a competition, don't take it too seriously." The Chinese teacher seemed to be used to the two of them bickering and skipped over their playful antics, treating all three of them equally.

Wu Ziqi pursed her lips: "There are several questions about famous foreign works that I feel like I have the answers on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember them..."

Chen Qingyu blurted out, "I already told you to come to my house to read the original work. You didn't come, and I knew you definitely wouldn't know it when I was writing the answers."

Standing to the side, Shen Qingqing saw Wu Ziqi pursing her lips tightly, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She felt that if there were special effects to visualize this, her senior's forehead would be covered with red tic-tac-toe marks.

Seeing this, Chen Qingyu immediately called for help: "But not everyone is as familiar with the original work as I am. If you don't believe me, ask the little girl. Did she not answer the question either?"

Shen Qingqing glanced at Wu Ziqi, opened her mouth, and decided to tell a little lie: "Ah...yes! It is a bit difficult, I've thought about it for a long time!"

After saying that, Shen Qingqing thought to herself, this shouldn't be considered a lie, right? She only said that she had thought about it, but she didn't say that she couldn't do it!

Unexpectedly, Wu Ziqi looked at her with a sly smile and said, "Little sister, have you forgotten that I was sitting right behind you? When you finished writing, I still had one page left to write. With your small stature, I could see you drawing on your draft paper..."

"Also, in the future, once you finish the test, you can leave earlier. Don't disturb other people who haven't finished in the exam room; it's a bit discouraging."

After Shen Qingqing's lie was exposed, her little scheme to take care of her senior from the same school was also revealed. However, she didn't expect that the senior didn't need it. After giving an awkward but polite smile, she quietly walked to the Chinese teacher's side to look at the big tree.

It was a miscalculation. Despite all the planning, I didn't realize I was too small and my view wasn't blocked.

Upon hearing what Wu Ziqi said, both the Chinese teacher and Chen Qingyu looked at Shen Qingqing with surprised expressions.

Chen Qingyu, in particular, comes from a similar family background to Wu Ziqi. He has been enrolled in various interest classes since childhood, and his knowledge base is quite impressive among his peers.

They participated in various competitions together since childhood. In written tests, their answering speeds were always about the same, and their scores were always fluctuating. So neither of them was willing to admit defeat and they always wanted to compete to see who was better.

But now he actually heard from Wu Ziqi that this little girl, who is only in first grade, answered the questions faster than the two of them!

Does she not even need to think when solving problems?!

So he subconsciously wondered, "Little sister, are there many things you can't do?"

"No..."

"Chen Qingyu, who are you suspecting? I can see it clearly with both eyes, okay? That person's test paper is completely filled with writing. Even if you gouged out your eyeballs and put them on my eye, I still couldn't see it clearly!"

Shen Qingqing had only said three words when Wu Ziqi burst out with a string of words after her.

The Chinese teacher also noticed the doubt in Chen Qingyu's tone and took over the conversation, explaining, "Qingyu, don't underestimate Qingqing. Qingqing has been reading at home all the time. Although she hasn't read as many books or as many specialized books as you have, she's been reading books about this competition lately."

"They went to Xinhua Bookstore specifically to buy these books, following the list I gave them."

Shen Qingqing stood next to the Chinese teacher and smiled slightly at Chen Qingyu. She didn't even need to finish what she hadn't said; someone had already provided a reasonable explanation for her.

It was all for nothing that she brought back a bunch of books from her uncle's house to show off before the Chinese teacher's home visit, and it was all for nothing that she would take the books she brought from home to school and wave them around before and after each Chinese class.

So this is what it feels like to be prepared in advance?

Shen Qingqing felt a surge of joy and began to wonder if she should also bring some books on finance and economics to show off to her uncle.

But she quickly dismissed the idea. Her uncle himself was a business major, so there was no need for her to try to teach him. She only needed to give him a casual hint about the future direction, and her uncle would be able to steer himself on the right path.

On the way back, Shen Qingqing sat next to Wu Ziqi and could feel Chen Qingyu's scrutinizing gaze from time to time.

But she didn't care. Being looked at a few times wouldn't make her money in the stock market disappear. Let them look!

When Shen Qingqing got home, she found the house was very lively. Wu Jingyuan, whom she hadn't seen for a long time, had come to her house with her uncle.

"Hey! Qingqing's back?" Wu Jingyuan was sitting on a single sofa and could see the doorway by turning his head, so he was the first to notice that Shen Qingqing had returned home.

Shen Qingqing greeted them with a smile, and only after walking over did she notice a gift box spread out on the coffee table. Next to the gift box was a design drawing, on which were the pendants and chains that her mother had previously burned for Zhang Hengyun.
