Shen Qingqing didn't say much, but poured another glass of water, took a pack of tissues and placed them in front of Mrs. Ye, then pulled the trash can over and placed it under the table where it was easy to see, quietly waiting for Mrs. Ye to calm down.
Mrs. Ye's trembling gradually subsided and eventually stopped. Half of the tissues in front of her were taken away, each one soaked through with tears.
As Shen Qingqing watched, she sighed inwardly.
Happiness and unhappiness in marriage are truly a Schrödinger's cat state; you can never know whether you'll be alive or dead after marriage before you get married.
Mrs. Ye took out a few more tissues and finally finished getting herself ready. The lemon water that had cooled down next to her was just what she needed to hydrate.
After finishing her water, Mrs. Ye looked up and smiled at Shen Qingqing: "Little Shen, thank you. I'll think about it carefully."
"Everything will be alright," Shen Qingqing said, and that was all.
After a three-day trial period, Chen Kangqi faced his first test.
Based on Chen Kangqi's final exam paper, Chen Jiaxin created a test paper that was slightly more difficult.
There were two papers each for Chinese and Math, one for the morning exam and one for the afternoon exam, and Chen Jiaxin graded the papers on the spot.
The final result certainly did not disappoint Shen Qingqing and Chen Jiaxin's hard work over the past few days. After seeing the comparison between the two sets of test papers, Mrs. Ye readily transferred all the fees for the formal courses.
Shen Qingqing was stunned when she saw the text message showing the amount deposited into the company account: "Aunt Ye, the money was transferred to the wrong account. The first payment was for half the amount..."
“No mistake, I’ve transferred all the money in advance. I have some things to take care of next. Kang Qi is still taking classes here, so I’ll come over occasionally.” Mrs. Ye pressed down on Shen Qingqing’s hand, which was about to return the money.
Shen Qingqing understood the implied meaning in those words. She glanced at Chen Kangqi standing next to her and, seeing that his expression was normal, looked back at Mrs. Ye: "Okay, Aunt Ye! Let's continue. The contract is in triplicate. One copy for you, one for the studio, and one for the law firm we often work with. After you've read it, sign here at the end, along with this power of attorney."
The rest of the matter will be handled by Xunqing's legal department.
"Youqiantu" Education Studio successfully signed its first contract upon opening!
After Chen Kangqi successfully signed this deal, it was as if he had turned on a switch for good luck. The other two tutors who he had been unable to book before also signed contracts and cooperated smoothly. Wu Fangyi opened four more tutoring classes for daily tutoring, which were assigned to the other two people, two classes each. In terms of time, they were very flexible, because the daily tutoring time was not long. Except for one class which was three hours, the other three classes were two hours each.
At the same time, Shen Qingqing also stipulated a price promotion system for tutors, but the promotion was not based on the tutor's tutoring performance. Instead, there was a price for elementary school students and a price for junior and senior high school students.
After three consecutive days of meetings with the studio staff, Shen Qingqing was so exhausted that she went home and fell asleep immediately after the meetings, sleeping soundly for days. When Li Xunli came home and found her lying motionless on the bed, she was so frightened that she almost called 120 (emergency services).
Fortunately, Shen Qingqing was woken up by hunger in time. She saw her mother standing at the head of the bed and called out to her, which put Li Xunli at ease.
It was during a family meal that Shen Rongzhou and Li Xunli finally learned what Shen Qingqing had been busy with since the middle school entrance exam.
Li Xunli looked at Shen Qingqing with a mixture of relief and complicated emotions. She didn't say much, only telling her to take better care of her health.
Then they asked about the high school entrance exam results: "When will the high school entrance exam results be released?"
Shen Qingqing racked her brains, which were filled with official business, and answered somewhat uncertainly, "I think it was around July 20th."
"So, where did you fill in your college application? Are you confident about it?" Li Xunli scooped a spoonful of chestnuts for her.
"Jinzhong, well, I've applied to all three key high schools in the city, and Jinzhong is my first choice. I think I should be able to get in." Shen Qingqing loves chestnuts, so she can accept chestnuts with their drizzling broth being poured into her bowl. "My aunt knows which school I applied to. She also teaches me history, and she's the homeroom teacher for my regular class. She'll definitely know when the results come out and will call home."
Li Xunli nodded, but privately she was wondering if she should find some time to talk to her sister-in-law.
Unexpectedly, that very evening, Li Xunli was summoned away by a phone call.
He hurriedly left with his suitcase, leaving Shen Rongzhou and his daughter and son with only the words, "Going on a business trip, call me back when you're done."
The remaining three children were at home, looking at each other blankly.
Then, Li Xunli got so busy that she lost contact for almost half a month. Fortunately, there were two master chefs in Xunqing to oversee things, so nothing serious happened.
The Shen family did remember the words Li Xunli hurriedly left before she left, so they weren't too worried about Li Xunli, whom they hadn't contacted for almost half a month.
Ever since Li Xunli's set of works fetched a good price at the art exhibition, Li Xunli would always go on a short-term business trip every year or two and then disappear without a trace. They had all gotten used to it.
In those two weeks, Shen Qingqing also found three high school students from Jinzhong to do summer jobs, and recruited two college graduates who had just graduated from university but had not found jobs. Both of them were from 211 universities and came back directly after graduation because they wanted to develop their careers back home. They did not expect it to be so difficult to find a job at home.
