Chapter 14: An invitation to discuss business.

The next day, when Shen Qingqing met with Chen Man, she told Chen Man the good news that her mother had agreed to meet and discuss the matter in detail.

However, Shen Qingqing said a few more things. After all, her mother had previously refused President Zhang's invitation, but now she had agreed to a meeting. Although it wasn't finalized, it was easy for Zhang Zeqin to have a bad impression of her.

After listening for a while, Chen Man quietly said, "Why don't you tell him yourself when my dad comes to pick me up this afternoon? I can't remember..."

Shen Qingqing paused for two seconds, then nodded decisively, "Okay, you're right!"

It's definitely not as reliable to tell a seven-year-old child something as simple as telling them yourself.

She had seen how outrageous the messages relayed by kindergarten children were on a short video app from a certain entertainment company in later generations.

The value of the statement "But my house doesn't have a basement" is still increasing!

While attending class in peace, Shen Qingqing secretly chatted with Chen Man, but they didn't talk much, just a little bit.

Then, during the first period of Chinese class in the afternoon, the Chinese teacher gave the children something that was like a bolt from the blue: there would be a unit test for Chinese class on Wednesday afternoon, and it would be a test of two units at once.

Chen Man's eyes widened in surprise. She grabbed Shen Qingqing's forearm and asked frantically, "What should I do? What should I do, Qingqing! I haven't memorized all the pinyin yet. How am I supposed to write words based on pinyin?!"

Shen Qingqing was also flustered. She couldn't figure out what level the kids needed for exams these days!

It has been almost twenty years since she last attended first grade.

But in her panic, she suddenly realized something was wrong. Why should she care about what level the kids are at in exams?

What she should be doing now is proving her exceptional intelligence by passing the school exams!

In this era where exam-oriented education prioritizes grades, academic performance is the key to increasing her say in the family!

Why did her parents always ask her uncle for help when they encountered problems? It's because her uncle was the only college graduate in both families!

He's also a college student who's successfully made money!

Shen Qingqing calmed down and took Chen Man's hand. "Don't be afraid, Manman! I'll study with you these next two days. If all else fails, you can come to my house and I'll teach you!"

This is also part of Shen Qingqing's plan: to show her parents that she has real skills and can be a little teacher by teaching Chen Man!

It's not because the questions were easy that I got a perfect score!

Chen Man was deeply moved: "Then I'll go today!"

Shen Qingqing rolled her eyes and nodded in agreement: "Okay, let your dad come to our house too, and then you can stay at our house for dinner, so you'll have more time to study!"

Chen Man's father, who is also Mr. Zhang's brother-in-law, was able to leave a "very smart" impression on him, so Mr. Zhang must have heard something about it.

Chen Man is going to be her elementary school classmate for six years. How could she not be afraid of sticking that label on herself for those six years?

Being "smart" means learning everything quickly and understanding more from what you see. In the future, when she gives her parents or uncle advice, she won't need to rack her brains for reasons or excuses; she can just say she read it in a book.

When school was over, Chen Man skipped and hopped along beside Shen Qingqing, chattering away: "Qingqing! This is the first time I've ever studied at a friend's house! When I was in preschool, many of my classmates would always go home together to do their homework, but I didn't."

"So I really wanted a good friend to do homework with, but I never did until I left kindergarten! I never imagined that you were waiting for me in elementary school!"

In her previous life, Shen Qingqing was also a very introverted and quiet person. In the MBTI test that became very popular in later generations, she was the laziest little painter. She was an ISFP and the thing she enjoyed and immersed herself in the most was often being alone.

So although she had friends from her past life, she rarely met them and mostly maintained contact online.

After being reborn in this life, I have an extra clingy friend, Chen Man.

Although Shen Qingqing's approach was deliberate, Chen Man's sincerity and enthusiasm genuinely touched her.

"You're welcome to come to my house anytime you want!" Shen Qingqing extended an invitation.

Chen Man immediately nodded like a chick pecking at rice: "Okay, okay! Then I'll come to your house to play every Saturday and Sunday from now on!"

Shen Qingqing nodded: "My sister is home on Saturdays and Sundays too, so we can play with her!"

"That's great! The three of us can play house, play teacher and student, play statues..." Chen Man counted on her fingers.

As soon as I stepped out of the school gate, I saw Mr. Chen's van parked on the side of the road, and he was standing outside the van waiting.

Chen Man pulled Shen Qingqing over and asked her father if she could go to Shen Qingqing's house to study together.

Mr. Chen was still hesitant. After all, his little rascal usually needed to be urged three or four times to do her homework at home, but today she actually offered to go to a classmate's house to study. It was hard for him to trust her.

Seeing his hesitation, Shen Qingqing immediately said, "Uncle Chen, why don't you come to my house with Manman? My parents haven't gotten off work yet, and it's not safe for just the two of us kids to be home alone!"

“It just so happens that my mother also wanted to talk to you about those five sets of porcelain.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Chen immediately nodded in agreement.

Chen Man happily followed Shen Qingqing into the car, and whispered in her ear with a grin, praising her for being so clever and managing to win over her father so easily.

Shen Qingqing chuckled and offered no further explanation.

With Shen Qingqing's directions, Mr. Chen successfully delivered the two children home.

As soon as she entered the door, Shen Qingqing went straight to the kitchen, shouting as she ran, "Manman, Uncle, why don't you have dinner at my house tonight!"

Before Mr. Chen could even refuse, Chen Man raised her hands and loudly replied, "Okay!"

Then Chen Man turned around and asked her father to call home and tell her mother that she wouldn't be coming home for dinner that night.

Shen Qingqing pressed the start button on the rice cooker and poured two cups of water from the kettle in the kitchen before taking them out.

"Uncle, have some water! But please wait a little longer, my mom hasn't gotten off work yet." Shen Qingqing put down a cup in front of Mr. Chen, handed another cup to Chen Man, and then went to her room to get two small stools.

This was the first time Mr. Chen had directly experienced Shen Qingqing's way of dealing with people, and he was quite surprised.

Looking at her daughter sitting next to Shen Qingqing, blowing water into her cup, she thought to herself, "If only my daughter could learn more from Shen Qingqing."

Shen Qingqing glanced at the clock on the wall, estimating that it was probably time for her mother to get off work. Just as she was about to pick up the phone to call Li Xunli, she heard the sound of the door opening.

As soon as Li Xunli entered the house, she saw a stranger sitting on the sofa. "Qingqing, who is this?"

"Mom! This is Uncle Chen, Manman's dad. I invited him to our house to talk to you about the five sets of porcelain!"
