It was past eight o'clock in the evening when Cheng Wanying returned home. She had just put her hair up and was about to wash up when she received a call.
"Professor Zou?"
The moment she received Zou Kang's call, her heart trembled violently. Did something happen?
Why would Professor Zou call her so late?
"Yingying, I want to ask if Chu Wei is at home?"
There was nothing strange about Zou Kang's voice on the other end of the phone. He was as kind as usual, as if he was just asking casually.
Cheng Wanying was surprised. "Didn't Chu Wei go on a business trip?"
"Oh, you're on a business trip, right?"
Cheng Wanying was confused. Didn’t he go on a business trip with everyone at the base?
Why did Zou Kang call her and ask where he was?
"It's okay, it's okay. Sorry to bother you so late at night. Go to sleep."
Zou Kang on the other end of the phone smiled and hung up.
The more Cheng Wanying thought about it, the more worried she became. She called Wang Chuwei, but no one answered.
When she finished washing up and picked up her phone, she saw another incoming call. It was Wang Chuwei calling.
This time, Cheng Wanying called again, but still no one answered.
This feeling made her panic. Wang Chuwei didn't go on the business trip with everyone else at the base, so what was he doing?
Lying in bed tossing and turning, Cheng Wanying couldn't figure out why Wang Chuwei told this lie?
He seemed to have lied to everyone, so what on earth had he been doing?
The next morning, Cheng Wanying came out for breakfast with a pair of panda eyes and was laughed at by Xu Ningjun.
For the next two days, she called him repeatedly, but no one answered.
This feeling made Cheng Wanying feel uneasy.
She always felt that something had happened, but Wang Chuwei didn't tell anyone.
Because it was the nature of his work, she knew she couldn't ask too many questions and never asked him to explain.
When Aunt Meng came to our house for dinner, she seemed to be in a good mood, just like usual.
I also joked about Chu Wei being on a business trip, and asked Yingying if she was bored, so I urged your brother to come quickly, so Aunt Meng probably didn't know either.
The adults were cooking in the kitchen. Cheng Wanying hid in the room and wanted to call Wang Chuwei again.
The doorbell rang suddenly. "Chu Wei is here. I thought you couldn't come until tomorrow."
Hearing the sound outside the door, Cheng Wanying ran out. He was changing his shoes at the entrance.
He looked up and saw her, and smiled.
"Chu Wei, did you just get off the plane? I'll give you the key, can you put your things at home first?"
Meng Xin asked, speaking to her own son, but her tone seemed so polite.
Cheng Wanying quickly interrupted, "Let me take my brother to put the things away. Let's put them in my room first."
She wanted to pull Wang Chuwei's hand, down, and pull at the corner of his clothes, like a little sister pulling her brother.
The door of the room closed and he kissed her.
"Hmm."
Suddenly being pulled up, Cheng Wanying stepped back unsteadily. The man put his hand on her lower back to support her.
The light kiss was like the continuous spring rain. He was cold, and the damp and cold breath penetrated into his body with his breath.
Cheng Wanying subconsciously grabbed Wang Chuwei's wrist, and her petite body was wrapped.
"Yingying."
I miss you.
Wang Chuwei didn't say the second half of the sentence, and deliberately touched her warm cheek with his cold hand.
Hearing the little girl whimpering, shrinking her neck, and scolding him coquettishly.
"Where have you been?"
Cheng Wanying was worried. There was fatigue in his eyes and brows, as if he hadn't rested for a long time.
"I have something to do outside."
The warmth in Wang Chuwei's eyes faded a little, and he just smiled.
Knowing that his affairs were strictly confidential and that she couldn't get any information from him, Cheng Wanying said "oh".
Her little hand drew circles on his chest, "You don't even miss me, you didn't even answer my calls."
