Chapter 21 Cold War 1 (2/2)

Wang Qingqing suddenly smelled a foul odor. "What's that smell?"

The stench seemed to be emanating from the people around him. Cheng Yuanshan's face changed and he quickly ran towards the grove with his buttocks tucked under his tummy.

He limped and cried out in pain.

"vomit."

Wang Qingqing fanned her nose in disdain, and with an idea in mind, she walked over and said, "Ningning, my hand is broken, and I can't finish my work today. Can you help me?"

"Unless your hand is broken."

Wang Qingqing guessed that Xu Ningjun would say that, and suppressed her happiness.

Such a vicious woman, with a pretty face for nothing, Comrade Zhou should have recognized this.

Zhou Guozheng put down his hoe and wiped the sweat from his head. Wang Qingqing leaned towards him with a wronged look and spoke in a low voice.

"Ningning, I thought we were friends, but you would rather sit here than help me."

"Comrade Wang Qingqing."

"Um?"

Wang Qingqing looked at Zhou Guozheng with shining eyes, then seemed a little embarrassed and said, "You smell like shit."

“Puff.”

Xu Ningjun couldn't help laughing out loud, "Ahem, I just remembered something happy. My aunt gave birth to a child."

This time Wu Xiaohua couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Me too, I also thought of something happy. My aunt also has a child."

Wang Qingqing was angry and ashamed, and blamed Cheng Yuanshan, that dirty guy.

She stamped her foot, and the stone on the ground cut the sole of her foot. She grabbed her foot and screamed in pain.

It looked so ugly that Wang Qingqing felt ashamed and ran away quickly.

His back was twisting and twitching like a frog, and Zhou Guozheng's strange voice could be heard from behind him, "Comrade Wang really doesn't pay attention to his health."

Xu Ningjun laughed until tears came out. When he looked up, he found Zhou Guozheng looking at him with a smile.

She stopped smiling again, "What?"

That day at the black market, she used a handkerchief as a mask to cover the lower half of her face, so she wouldn't be recognized.

"Nothing, I just thought Xu Zhiqing looked familiar."

Where have I seen those eyes before?

Just like what they say in opera, "㱕", I have seen this sister somewhere before.

Zhou Guozheng muttered to himself for a while and continued to work.

There is very little farm work to do in August, as everyone is conserving their energy for the autumn harvest.

Every day I do things like weeding, planting summer corn, harvesting tomatoes, and growing cabbage.

The work in other teams is not tiring. If Xu Ningjun had not been assigned to Cheng Chuan, he would not have needed to carry the hoe.

Singing could be heard from everywhere in the fields, and everyone sat together singing when they had nothing to do.

Wu Xiaohua sat cross-legged on the edge of the field, "Ningning, I heard the team leader contacted Cheng Chuan and asked him to reclaim the wasteland these days. The autumn harvest will be busy soon."

The word "sick" was on the tip of his tongue, but Xu Ningjun swallowed it back. "Captain, you're just joking. It's true, but Cheng Chuan is doing it alone?"

"Oh, can you please do more work?"

Wu Xiaohua is one of the few people who can speak English, and it was Xu Ningjun who taught her.

"I haven't seen the captain take much care of Cheng Chuan. In spring he wants him to sow seeds, in summer he sends him to clear wasteland, in autumn he expects him to harvest and hunt wild boars. In winter he's hoping he'll turn into a cat and fish in the lake."

Wu Xiaohua scratched her head. Ningning's voice crackled like firecrackers, and she was completely confused.

"I didn't say anything, why are you so angry?"

Xu Ningjun was upset and blamed the sun, "It's too hot."

He couldn't stand the fact that they treated him like an ox plowing the fields.

The key point is that Cheng Chuan, this idiot, doesn't refuse and does whatever he is asked to do.

When the sun sets, Xu Ningjun walks back with a sack of corn.

It was so heavy that her thin arms couldn't hold it, so she could only put it on the ground and drag it.

Wu Xiaohua and Zhou Guozheng were both holding instruments and couldn't help her.

"I wish I had a cart."

Xu Ningjun muttered as he walked, and Wu Xiaohua nodded. "A cart saves effort, but it's very expensive. The brigade only has one cart, and they couldn't afford to repair it even when the wheel broke."

"Xu Zhiqing, the bag is torn. Come and take a look."

A voice came from behind, reminding.

Xu Ningjun quickly stopped, dragging the bag along the ground, with two corns rolling away.

"Hey, don't run."

She chased the corn, but the road was downhill and the corn seemed to be against her and ran away very fast.

A familiar figure appeared in front of him. Cheng Chuan looked up and saw her rushing down.
