Chapter 98: Lively Comfort in the Eternal Darkness of Life
"Assistant Cao?"
The house was empty and Assistant Cao was not there.
That's impossible. Assistant Cao couldn't possibly take Yingying out so late at night.
Xu Ningjun suddenly remembered that Yingying was at Meng Xin's house in the afternoon, and might still be there now.
She tried to comfort herself that all the adults were there and nothing could happen in broad daylight.
She ran quickly to another building, her high heels rubbing against her heels, causing her to grit her teeth in pain.
"Sister Meng."
She knocked hard on the door, "Sister Meng, is Yingying here with you?"
There was no sound from inside, the door was closed, and a burnt cigarette butt was thrown on the ground.
Xu Ningjun squatted down and carefully checked in the dark, and it was just a cigarette butt.
None of them smokes, this...whose is this?
Bad thoughts suddenly came to her mind, and she covered her mouth in fear, feeling so anxious that she was about to cry.
The door suddenly opened from the inside. Xu Ningjun raised his head and met the young man's indifferent gaze.
"Weiwei?"
He left his country?
Meng Xin didn't tell her that when Xu Ningjun stood up after squatting for a long time, he felt dizzy.
Holding the door open, she hurried in.
On the sofa, the little guy was woken up, rubbed his eyes, and sat up, "Mom, you're here."
There was a small light on in the living room, the dim light was warm. She was wrapped in a thick quilt, some of which was dragging on the ground.
The pillow fell to the ground as she stood up.
Xu Ningjun's throat was dry, and he rushed over and squatted down to check on Wanying.
"Itchy, what are you doing, mom?"
The little guy giggled and hid in her hand. Xu Ningjun made sure that she was fine.
My body wasn't cold, my hands and feet were warm, only my hair was a mess like a chicken coop.
His big eyes were confused and sleepy.
Xu Ningjun turned his head to glance at Wang Chuwei, and the young man's face was expressionless as always.
"Weiwei, where's your mother?"
"Aunt Meng went out. She said she would come back soon."
Xu Ningjun nodded. She was glad nothing happened. She was really scared.
We will have to hire another nanny to take care of Yingying in the future, so that Chu Wei won’t be the only one looking after Yingying when everyone is busy.
"Let's go home."
Xiao Wanying nodded and was carried down from the sofa by Xu Ningjun. "Goodbye, brother."
"Weiwei, can you wait for your mother at home alone?"
Xu Ningjun asked worriedly, but the boy was reading and ignored him.
Xu Ningjun really doesn't have the mind to care about anything else tonight, so nothing should happen.
"Then Auntie has taken my sister to her place. If you have anything to say, can you please come to me?"
Before dying, Xu Ningjun saw a broken bowl in the trash can.
She felt that something had happened, but Yingying was yawning and seemed to have just fallen asleep because she was tired from playing.
"Mother,"
Lying on her mother's shoulder, Wanying asked, "Is my father a good man?"
"Huh? Of course, Yingying, why did you suddenly ask that?"
Wanying shook her head, her long eyelashes drooping to cover her big eyes, thinking about what had just happened.
*
"Xiaobao, it's Daddy. Won't you open the door for Daddy? Daddy wants to see you and brought you some chocolate."
"Brother, your father is outside. Do you want me to open the door for you?"
Xiao Wanying bit her chopsticks, looked at her door and then at her father Wang Chuwei.
He looked a little strange, and his hands were clenched tightly around his chopsticks, his knuckles turning white.
"Your mother has said a lot of bad things about Dad to you over the years, right? Dad has reflected on himself. Dad just has a bad temper, but he loves you."
Wang Qiaofan knocked on the door patiently. He pretended to meet Meng Xin today to flirt with that woman.
He sent someone to hold her back, and then came over. As long as he could bring his son back, Meng Xin would have to obey him.
In his eyes, autism and depression are just problems caused by habits.
