Chapter 106: Aunt Gu's Past

The matter of Aunt Gu was like a small stone thrown into a calm lake, which did not cause much ripples in the Gu family.

Back then, Aunt Gu resolutely gave up her huge family for the sake of her own small family.

Now, their family is in deep trouble and has suffered all kinds of hardships. It can be said that it is their own fault and destined by fate. How can they blame others?

Aunt Gu has been waiting for the old man's call back for several days, but she has been disappointed every time.

She knew very well that what she had done back then had deeply hurt the old man's heart, so much so that even in this situation now, the old man was still unwilling to lend her a helping hand.

At this moment, Aunt Gu was full of entanglement and regret. She couldn't help but start to reflect: Should she blame herself for her original decisiveness and ruthlessness, or should she blame the fate for its fickleness?

On the other hand, the son-in-law of the Gu family was like an ant on a hot pan, anxiously waiting for news from the Gu family.

He didn't want to die like this. There were so many wonderful things in life waiting for him to experience. He felt that he had not lived enough!

However, in fact, it was because of his constant instigation and provocation that Aunt Gu betrayed the family like a possessed person.

Most of the blame for the mistakes made back then should be placed on him.

Poor Aunt Gu was completely blinded by love and became a complete love-brained person. She was devoted to him and obeyed his every word.

When seeing that Aunt Gu still got nothing after making the call, Uncle Gu could no longer suppress his dissatisfaction and resentment.

I couldn't help but start complaining, "Look at you, you're so useless! I called home for help, but you wouldn't even offer a favor. What kind of heartless people are these people?"

"Shut up!" Aunt Gu roared furiously, her voice sharp and piercing, as if it could pierce one's eardrums. She stared at the person in front of her with wide eyes, her eyes burning with rage.

"If you hadn't been bullying us all along, taking advantage of our power, how could we have ended up like this? Don't you even know what the problem is?"

Aunt Gu was so angry that she was shaking all over and her chest was heaving violently. She simply couldn't believe that this man could be so stubborn.

After so many years, he is still the same, self-righteous and arrogant.

He always feels that he is superior to others and can bully others at will; but he has never thought about why others should be willing to be bullied by him?

It’s all because of his insatiable nature, he is never satisfied and his desires are insatiable.

It was precisely because of his greed and selfishness that the two of them ended up with such a miserable end.

Now, even their own son has severed family ties with them, which is undoubtedly a punishment from God.

Looking back on the mistakes I made towards my father and family, I never expected that all the bad consequences would come back upon me.

How ironic, sad and ridiculous this is all!

However, even though he felt extremely regretful at this moment, it was too late; all the money in the house had been confiscated, and he was left with nothing.

What worries Aunt Gu even more is whether her two sons, who have been over-pampered and lazy since childhood, can survive in such a difficult environment?

When she thought of this, Aunt Gu felt as if her heart was being cut by a knife and was in great pain.

So, with a heart full of anxiety and a last glimmer of hope, she dialed Mr. Gu's phone number with trembling fingers.

A familiar and majestic voice soon came from the other end of the phone. She took a deep breath and said in an almost pleading tone: "Dad, please look at my two sons! They are your grandsons! Please save their lives..." When she said this, she was already sobbing.

At this moment, the young and helpless faces of the two children kept appearing in her mind. They were only fifteen or sixteen years old and had no ability to survive on their own.

Thinking of this, tears burst out like a dam breaking.

Time passed minute by minute, and there was still silence on the other end of the phone; just when she was about to despair, she finally heard a long sigh from the old man.

Then, the old man slowly said: "Forget it, I will send them to the army, but I will not treat them as my grandsons.

As for whether they can survive in the military camp, that depends entirely on their own abilities." He then hung up the phone.

Aunt Gu held her cell phone in her hand, and sat on the ground as if she had collapsed, tears still flowing.

However, a moment later, an indescribable feeling of gratitude welled up in her heart.

Although the old man's attitude was indifferent, he finally agreed to help, which made her feel extremely relieved.

She knew that what awaited the children would be a difficult military career, but as long as there was a glimmer of hope, she was willing to pray for it.

Wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes, she stood up and looked into the distance with a determined gaze.

She secretly vowed to take full responsibility for the mistakes she had made, no matter how great the cost.

Meanwhile, the man who learned he was about to be executed had already fallen into a state of madness.

Sometimes he laughed uncontrollably, sometimes he cried loudly, and he completely lost his mind.

Aunt Gu looked at the man in front of her who had once slept in the same bed with her, her heart filled with endless regret.

If time could go back, if she could make the right choice, perhaps everything would be different.
