Song Lili tidied up quickly, but there were others who could do it even more simply and quickly.
Zhang Shengtian's story is quite simple; he didn't bring much with him when he came back, so naturally he won't leave with much either.
The dried vegetables and other similar items that everyone here is used to eating were all gifts given to Zhang Shengtian by others.
Zhang Shengtian figured his kids might like it, so he brought it along.
Even with these things added, Zhang Shengtian's luggage wasn't much.
He only had two sets of clothes, which he changed into. So, half an hour later, Zhang Shengtian's luggage was packed.
Song Lili and her group set off quickly, leaving early the next morning with their luggage.
The three families met in town and then took a car to the city.
They arrived in the capital two or three days later.
Before the train departed, Song Lili called Zhang Qinghua and asked them to arrange for someone to pick her up at the station.
No matter who it is, they're all here to help with the luggage.
When Song Lili and her group arrived, it wasn't the weekend, so Song Lili assumed that the people who came might be Song Fang, or Daqing and Wang Daming; any one of them could be one of them.
However, to everyone's surprise, the person who came was Zhang Qinghua.
"Why are you here? Aren't you at work today?"
Song Lili was very surprised to see Zhang Qinghua. She knew how busy Zhang Qinghua was with his work.
Moreover, he is the main person in charge, so it's already quite difficult for him to find the time.
Seeing Zhang Qinghua was a huge surprise for Song Lili.
"I've come to pick you up." Zhang Qinghua gave Song Lili a deep look before greeting Song Yongren and Wu Jiang's family behind him, and also helped them with their luggage.
The Song Jianshe family and the Song Lili family didn't have much luggage; the Wu Jiang family had the most.
They were afraid of causing Song Lili trouble in the capital. They were also afraid of spending too much money, so they brought everything they thought they should bring.
Therefore, everyone was carrying a lot of luggage.
Because Zhang Qinghua shared some of the burden, everyone felt a little more at ease, at least it didn't hinder their walking.
Zhang Qinghua led everyone back into the alley, where Song Fang had already prepared food and was waiting for them.
"Sister, Uncle, and Grandpa, you're here! I've already made something delicious. Come in and rest for a while, I'll go get you something to eat."
After giving a greeting, Song Fang went into the kitchen, where the food still needed one last step of preparation.
Song Lili then told everyone to wash their hands and poured water for them, while Zhang Qinghua chatted with several of the elders.
Soon, the food was served. Song Fang didn't make anything too complicated; everything was made with the aim of filling people's stomachs, and they were all relatively filling noodles.
Each person received a large bowl of noodles, and after finishing them, we immediately felt much better.
Song Lili touched her belly and said, "I finally feel alive again, and I feel much more energetic."
However, after eating, I felt very sleepy and really wanted to sleep.
Seeing that Wu Jiang's family was in the same state, Song Lili said a few words to them and then went back to sleep.
She was worried that Wu Jiang's family would feel uncomfortable at home, and thought that with her taking the lead, everyone should be able to go and rest for a while.
Sure enough, after seeing Song Lili go back to her room to sleep, Song Jianshe's family also went home, and Wu Jiang's family was no longer so restrained.
They were all tired, so they went back to the room that had been prepared for them. Taking the train was a very tiring experience.
Song Lili slept for three or four hours after waking up, and when she woke up, she felt disoriented and didn't know what day it was.
Moreover, my head was foggy, and I felt like I wasn't very clear-headed.
She sat alone on the bed for a long time before she finally woke up. She quickly put on her shoes and got out of bed, not daring to stay on the bed any longer, for fear that she would fall asleep again.
If I fall asleep again, I probably won't be able to sleep at night, and then I won't be able to get up in the morning, creating a vicious cycle.
Once outside, the courtyard was quiet, because Song Lili was the first person to wake up.
Inside the main room, Song Fang was also sitting there drinking tea and reading. When he saw Song Lili get up, he quickly invited her to sit down with him.
"Where's your brother-in-law?" Song Lili asked Song Fang because she didn't see Zhang Qinghua.
“My brother-in-law took the morning off. After picking you up, he went back to work.”
Zhang Qinghua managed to squeeze out this half-day of leave; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to ask for leave at all.
Song Lili knew about Zhang Qinghua, so she didn't ask any more questions about him.
Instead, he and Song Fang talked about what had happened during the days he was gone, and they also discussed which hospital to take Wu Jiang to for a check-up the next day.
They only stopped after they both reached an agreement.
"By the way, in the two days you were gone, my cousin came by two or three times to ask about my uncle's situation."
“I told them that since you’re back today, they’ll probably come over tonight.”
"It's good that you've come. It's something my cousin should do to have a meal together. After the check-up tomorrow, my uncle might be hospitalized, and then it won't be possible for us to have a meal together."
"Go home and tell them in a bit. I'll go to the kitchen and see what dishes we can make tonight."
Song Lili had rested well and didn't plan to have Song Fang cook again tonight.
She planned to cook for herself and invite Song Fang's family and Zhang Zeyu's family over for a meal together.
As for the others, Song Lili didn't plan to invite them.
After hearing Song Lili's arrangement, Song Fang nodded, which was considered as his agreement.
After seeing that it was almost time, he went to Zhang Zeyu's house to tell Xue Jiao the news.
Song Lili also went to the kitchen to see what dishes were available, and then mentally searched through recipes to see what would be suitable to make that night.
Song Fang was only gone for about an hour, and when she returned, she brought Xue Jiao with her.
"I'll help you. With more people, it'll be faster to get things done."
Xue Jiao felt embarrassed to just wait to eat, so she left a note for Zhang Zeyu at home. Then she came to the alley with Song Fang, thinking she could help Song Lili out.
Song Lili did not refuse Xue Jiao's kindness. Since she wanted to help, they could go into the kitchen together.
The three of them weren't in a hurry, as there were still several hours until dinner time.
So the three of them sat together chatting and drinking tea. It was quite a pleasant time.
When it was almost time to leave work, Song Lili stood up and went to the kitchen to start making dinner.
Xue Jiao and Song Fang assisted Song Lili, while Wu Jiang's family, having rested, came out and sat in the main room.
Although everyone was a little reserved, they no longer had the cautious feeling they had when they first arrived. Instead, they began to look around Song Lili's courtyard.
