Chapter 179 What's meant to happen will happen.

Before we knew it, it was the end of the fourth month of the lunar calendar. The crops were also in the season of rapid growth, and the farmers were busy weeding to make the crops grow faster and better.

Song Lili got up in the morning, picked up her basket and went out; it was time to deliver vegetables to her grandparents.

On these occasions, she didn't go inside; instead, she left the basket inside the gate, and the elderly people carried it in themselves after they got up.

Because she's been quite busy, she hasn't had a chance to chat with the elderly people for a long time, but she still keeps track of their news.

When they got home, Xia Niu and Song Jianshe were already up. Song Yongren went to fetch water, and Xia Niu prepared to make breakfast.

Seeing Song Jianshe happily follow Xia Niu into the kitchen, Song Lili didn't want to be annoying and went directly to call Song Fang.

Song Fang also got up and was getting dressed. "Sister," she mumbled sleepily.

"Get up and wash up quickly, you have to go to school after you eat."

A few days ago, Song Jianshe and Xia Niu's room was dried, thatched with straw, and the kang (heated brick bed) was installed, so the two of them moved in.

Song Lili and Song Fang lived together, Song Yongren lived alone in his original house, and Xia Niu and Song Jianshe shared a room.

Ever since moving into his own room, Song Jianshe has become Xia Niu's shadow, following her around whenever he's home.

Sometimes, Song Lili could see things she didn't want to see in Song Jianshe's eyes, which made her feel uncomfortable.

However, she could still understand; it was normal for Song Jianshe to behave this way, especially since they were newlyweds.

With time, everything will return to normal.

Looking at the rice porridge, cucumber salad, and steamed buns on the table, Song Lili smiled, picked up her bowl, and started drinking the porridge.

"Xia Niu, isn't this... a bit too much? There are only a few of us in our family, we can't finish it all," Song Yongren said hesitantly, looking at the table.

"Boss, Xia Niu is doing this for our own good. We need to eat well to have the energy to work. Please don't say anything to her." Song Jianshe quickly said.

Song Lili smiled and said to Song Yongren, who was about to say something, "Big Brother, hurry up and eat. I think this is pretty good."

These days, Xia Niu has taken over the kitchen and won't let Song Lili cook anymore, which gives Song Lili some free time.

Seeing that Xia Niu's cooking was getting better and better and that her demands for food were getting higher and higher, Song Lili didn't say anything.

She had done this before, but Song Yongren stopped her. Now that Xia Niu is doing this, it can be considered as indirectly realizing her idea, so she doesn't care.

Song Fang obediently started eating early, and Song Yongren didn't say anything more, but he sighed, and you could tell from his expression that he was worried.

Xia Niu smiled happily, glancing shyly at Song Jianshe, "Big Brother, I...did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's fine. Keep it up." Song Lili said to the couple with a meaningful look before Song Yongren could speak.

“Lili…” Xia Niu looked at Song Lili nervously, as if she had been frightened.

"What?" Song Lili raised an eyebrow, looking at Xia Niu with a half-smile. It's been several months, and she still wants to play these tricks?

Under Song Lili's clearly mocking gaze, Xia Niu couldn't say anything and could only lower her head.

"Lili..." Song Jianshe called out.

"What? Big brother, is something wrong?" Song Lili's attitude towards Song Jianshe was not so good; she was rather fierce.

"No...it's nothing." Song Jianshe didn't know what to say, so he could only mumble.

Song Lili ignored the two of them, finished eating, and left with her things. She figured she might as well go and see someone else instead of them.

Now that there's nothing left to do in the fields except weeding, Song Lili found her spot to work and squatted down to start working slowly.

She has now realized that in these kinds of days, there's no need to rush or hurry. Take it slow. After all, you won't be idle once the weeds are pulled, so just keep working at your own pace.

She felt like she was becoming a seasoned veteran.

In the afternoon, Zhang Qinghua suddenly arrived, whether by chance or by purpose was unknown.

"Why are you here?" Song Lili asked in surprise.

“I…I came to find you.” Zhang Qinghua said, then pushed aside the broad beans and walked through the large gap to Song Lili’s side.

Song Lili originally wanted to leave, but when she saw Zhang Qinghua come in, she simply pulled him to a place to sit down.

Only then did he ask, "Did you need something?" Otherwise, who would be running around at this hour? Everyone would be hiding in the fields.

"Yes, you said to keep an eye on Luo Juan, right? I've felt she's been acting strange these past few days, so I came to let you know."

"What's so strange about her?" Song Lili asked, turning her head.

Sometimes, time really is a good thing. At the beginning of the year, Song Lili was still extremely nervous, feeling like everything was going to be a threat.

For the first three months, her anxiety was particularly severe, fearing that something might happen that she couldn't handle.

But now, six months later, when she hears Luo Juan's name again, she feels no emotion. Although she is still wary of Luo Juan, she no longer panics.

She herself realized that she had been too nervous in the past and had been influenced by it, which led her to demonize this catastrophe.

With time, she came to understand that no matter how powerful they were, they were still human, and as human beings, she could find a way to ensure her safety.

So when she heard that Luo Juan was acting strangely, she was only concerned with whether "she's been going to town more often now?"

Since the beginning of the Lunar New Year, whenever she wasn't busy in the fields, Luo Juan frequently traveled to and from the town.

“Yes,” Zhang Qinghua nodded firmly. “And yesterday I saw her holding a book and a piece of red cloth in her hand.”

Song Lili finally sighed, "It seems what's coming is bound to happen." Judging by the timeline, we need to find a solution, right?

She's cleaned up everything that needed cleaning and prepared everything that needed preparing; now she's just waiting for the storm to come.

"Lili, do you know what's going to happen?" Zhang Qinghua asked in surprise.

This was the first time Zhang Qinghua had asked the question in front of Song Lili.

"More or less," Song Lili said somewhat ambiguously. "I'd only heard about it before, but now it seems like it's really going to happen."

What I heard before was just information, but now I have to experience it firsthand.

"Is it serious?" Zhang Qinghua was worried, and his heart was heavy, because he rarely saw Song Lili with such a worried expression.

Even with Luo Weijia's situation, all I saw was anxiety, followed by composure and calmness.

This was the first time he had seen Song Lili worried, and the way she frowned.

"Yes, but I can't estimate to what extent. We can only take it one step at a time."

Hearing about it is one thing, but in reality, it's impossible to have a correct understanding, which is why Song Lili felt uncertain.
