Chapter 309 Things Are Chaotic Again

"If you go back now and miss the mealtime, you'll definitely go hungry this afternoon. You should eat before you leave," Song Lili said casually before heading to the kitchen.

After thinking about it, Wu Huan finally listened to Song Lili and stayed, planning to have lunch before leaving.

At noon, everyone in the family returned home. Song Yongren came into the kitchen and asked Song Lili, "Lili, what's your cousin doing here? Is something wrong at home?"

Song Yongren's first thought was that something must have happened at home, which is why Wu Huan came.

Song Lili shook her head. "No, it's because my cousin wants to learn how to grow vegetables and asked me to teach him. That's why I came." Song Lili said while cooking.

"Growing vegetables? Oh, I see. I thought something had happened to his family. It gave me quite a fright. I'm glad he's alright." Song Yongren breathed a sigh of relief.

“That’s good. Your uncle’s family isn’t doing well either. Growing vegetables can increase their income to some extent and make their lives a little easier,” Song Yongren nodded and said.

"But why is it your cousin who came for this? Why didn't your uncle come?" Song Yongren asked, somewhat puzzled.

Song Lili looked at Song Yongren with a hint of exasperation. "Dad, can you at least turn your head before you speak?"

Isn't it obvious? My uncle disagreed, that's why he didn't come. Can't you even think of that?

However, she wouldn't tell Song Yongren these things that would worry him. "I don't know either, it's the same no matter who learns it."

As for her uncle's family affairs, she would let them handle them themselves; she didn't want to get involved, nor did she have the right to.

"Big Brother, go talk to my cousin. I'm almost done, and we can eat in a bit. Tell my older brother and the others to wash their hands and get ready to eat."

Song Lili didn't want to discuss this topic, so she asked Song Yongren to leave.

"Okay, I'll go check on Huanhuan. I wonder how things are going at his family lately. I'll go ask." With that, Song Yongren went out.

He still had deep feelings for his brother-in-law's family, so he cared for them a lot and was always grateful for the help his brother-in-law had given him when they were starving.

So when he heard that Wu Huan wanted to learn how to grow vegetables, he didn't find anything wrong with it at all. On the contrary, he was happy that his brother-in-law's family would have a better life.

Therefore, many problems were overlooked.

Song Lili worked quickly and prepared lunch in no time. Since Wu Huan was there, she made noodles, two cold dishes, and one hot dish.

"Alright, we can eat now," Song Lili said to everyone after placing the last dish on the table.

"Huanhuan, come and eat." Song Yongren said to Wu Huan after hearing this.

"Okay, Uncle." Wu Huan also stood up and walked towards the table with Song Yongren. Song Jianshe, Song Fang, Xia Niu and others outside also came in.

"Fangfang, come with me to get the food," Song Lili called out, and then went out.

The two sisters worked together to bring out noodles for everyone before they sat down.

"Alright, everyone, let's eat. We're all starving." Song Yongren picked up his chopsticks and said, urging Wu Huan, "Huanhuan, hurry up and eat, you must be starving!"

"It's alright, Uncle, you should eat too." Wu Huan picked up his chopsticks and said to Song Yongren.

Song Lili didn't say anything, but silently picked up her chopsticks and ate her own food. With Song Yongren and Song Jianshe here, she didn't need to greet anyone.

So all she had to do was eat quietly.

And so, the group finished their rather hearty lunch amidst the occasional exchange of a few words.

After finishing their meal, Song Lili and Xia Niu quickly cleared the table, leaving the men to sit and chat.

After the kitchen was completely cleaned up, Song Lili finally breathed a sigh of relief, leaning against the kitchen door frame with an inscrutable look in her eyes.

She glanced at Wu Huan, who was talking to Song Yongren in the main room, her eyes flickering, and she couldn't tell what she was thinking.

"Lili, is Huanhuan at your house?" Song Lili was pulled back to her senses by the sudden voice. She turned around and saw Wu Jiang standing at her front door, his face covered in sweat.

"Uncle? What brings you here?" Song Lili greeted him in surprise. "Come in quickly! Why did you run all this way? You're all sweaty!"

"Fangfang, hurry up and get some water," Song Lili said to her younger sister behind her.

"Is Huanhuan at your house?" Wu Jiang asked, panting heavily. His chest heaved violently, indicating that his breathing was erratic.

He held Song Lili's hand tightly, so tightly that Song Lili felt pain. "Yes, my cousin is at my house. Uncle, please have some water first."

Song Lili didn't ask Wu Jiang why he was in such a hurry to find out Wu Huan's whereabouts; she figured it out after thinking about it.

So she just told Wu Jiang to have some water and rest, and Song Lili didn't get involved in how to solve their problem.

"It's good that you're here." Wu Jiang breathed a sigh of relief and then followed Song Lili into the room.

"Big Brother, what brings you here?" Wu Huan, who had followed Song Yongren out after hearing the voice, looked at Wu Jiang with a guilty conscience.

"How did I get here? You think I got here? You've grown up, you've become independent, and now you don't listen to me anymore, huh?"

"You've actually learned to act on your own now? You've grown so capable, haven't you? Do you think I, your father, will have any say in this anymore? You're trying to be the boss now?" Wu Jiang said angrily, looking at Wu Huan.

"Uncle, I didn't, I... I just wanted things to be easier for my family, that's not what I was thinking," Wu Huan explained anxiously.

"Uncle, let's go inside and talk inside." The father and son were arguing in the yard, didn't they see that people were already curiously peeking in?

Song Lili had no interest in letting others gossip about her family affairs; it was better to handle things behind closed doors.

Reminded by Song Lili, Wu Jiang turned around and saw those gossipy eyes. He glared at Wu Huan before stepping into the house.

Wu Huan followed behind like a child who had done something wrong. Song Yongren and the others were still in a daze and had no idea what was going on, so they eventually went inside as well.

"Fangfang, don't go in. Let's go back inside." Song Lili stopped Song Fang, who also wanted to go in.

She didn't want to get involved in these things, and Fangfang didn't need to either. Let her uncle handle it himself; she believed he could manage it.

So, Song Lili casually shook her head and took Song Fang to sleep, leaving the people in the main room waiting for quite a while.

"Where's Lili?" Wu Jiang asked gruffly after waiting for a long time without seeing Song Lili come in.

"Lili and Fangfang didn't come in." Song Jianshe shrank back in fear. His uncle looked terrifying right now; he was not someone to be trifled with.

"Didn't come in?" Wu Jiang's eyes widened. "Oh, so this little girl knows how to hide now, huh? What's wrong? Does she think her uncle is too much trouble? So now she doesn't even want to see me?"

Wu Jiang immediately understood why Song Lili hadn't come in. He felt both amused and annoyed, and directly lashed out at Song Jianshe.
