Chapter 449 Song Lili Has Changed

"Lili's here? Hurry up and come in. Fangfang has asked about you several times. She's been thinking about you." Xia Niu looked at Song Lili with a forced smile.

Song Lili glanced at her sister-in-law, who spoke in a sarcastic tone, and said, "Then I'll go in and check on Fangfang first."

Ha, after all these years, she's still the same. Whenever I see her, I can't help but make a few sarcastic remarks, and I don't even know why.

"Fangfang." Song Lili opened the heavy curtain hanging at the door and saw Song Fang sitting on the kang with a headscarf wrapped around her head, surrounded by several aunties from the neighborhood.

"The aunties are here too." Song Lili quickly greeted them, as she knew them all.

"Lili's here? Come on in, it's freezing outside." The aunties quickly made room for Song Lili.

Song Lili didn't refuse, took off her shoes and went upstairs. The house had a heated kang (a traditional heated brick bed), so this was the warmest spot.

If it were underground, it would freeze solid in no time, and nobody wants to freeze.

She first put her hands under her bottom, and only after they were no longer cold did she go to tease the little girl who was looking around with her eyes open.

"Has it been named yet?" When she came to check a few days ago, it didn't have a name yet, and they weren't satisfied with the name Chu Ci.

"Her name is Chuchu. Her father chose her, saying it was a good name." Song Fang's expression was indescribable.

Is this name good? No, it's not good. It's followed by "pitiful," and she doesn't want her daughter to be associated with that word.

But Chu Ci liked it, and Song Yongren agreed, so she had no choice but to feel sorry for her daughter.

"That's not bad either." Song Lili stared for a while before she calmed down.

The names chosen from the Chu Ci (Songs of Chu) aren't very good, are they? Do they sound nice?

The two sisters shared the same thought, but they could only accept it helplessly.

"Auntie, Auntie, I've come to see my little sister!" The little boy, who had been following Zhang Qinghua, suddenly rushed in, holding his slingshot.

"This is for my little sister, so she can play with me." She held her little hand high, showing Song Fang her slingshot.

Song Fang was both amused and exasperated when she saw the slingshot. How could such a young child know how to play with a slingshot? Besides, girls rarely play with slingshots.

But the little boy's eyes were so bright and dark that it was hard to refuse. "You're still little, so you can play with her."

"How about you give it to your little sister when she's old enough to play with it?"

Song Fang thought she was being very gentle, but little did she know that Song Lili had already said these things on the way, and had even made the little boy cry.

"Wow... Auntie, don't you like me anymore? Don't you want your little sister to play with me?"

“Mom just doesn’t want me and my sister to play, that’s why she says my sister is too young, and you say the same thing.”

That reproachful tone, that pitiful look—who wouldn't soften their heart? Who wouldn't feel sorry for them?

Song Fang quickly sat up and coaxed, "No, no, how could Auntie not like you? Auntie likes you the most."

"Really? You like him even more than Brother Xiaohui? You like him even more than your brother!" the little dumpling asked persistently.

Song Fang: "..." What's the point of trying to win your aunt's favor like this?

However, she still nodded and said, "Yes, I like you all."

"Hmph," the little dumpling snorted, unhappy to hear that his aunt also liked his older brother Xiaohui and his younger brother.

Enraged, Song Lili slapped him. "They're your brother and sister too, how dare you talk like that?"

If Xia Niu, that petty girl, were to hear this, who knows what she would think.

"Hmph," the little boy snorted, forgetting all about how his little sister couldn't play with him earlier.

"Are you going up here or going to find your big brother?" Song Lili glanced at the little bun. This brat, I don't know how he grew up, he has so many tricks up his sleeve.

"I'm going out to play," the little dumpling said, and ran off.

"Xiao Chen is very smart." Song Fang couldn't help but look at her daughter. "I hope Chu Chu will be just as smart in the future."

"It's good for the girl to be smart, so she won't be easily fooled." Song Lili also thought it was good for the girl to be smart.

Song Fang: "..." Why do you always have such strange ideas?

How did you manage to make something that seemed perfectly fine sound so terrifying?

"By the way, are you still reading?" Song Lili leaned closer to Song Fang, glanced outside, and only asked when she realized Song Fang wasn't coming any closer.

When I saw her come in, the aunties left, and now only the two sisters are in the house.

“Yes, I do,” Song Fang nodded. “I really enjoy reading. I’ve been influenced by the Chu Ci (Songs of Chu). I read a couple of pages whenever I have time, and I’ve never missed one.”

"That's good, please don't throw it away."

"Sister, did you hear something?" Song Fang paused slightly, then looked at Song Lili with a puzzled expression.

"Don't worry about it, just keep watching. It'll come in handy someday."

The Lunar New Year is almost here, and the new year is almost over. The college entrance examination will resume in just over a year and a half, and we'll be able to use it very soon.

Song Fang looked at Song Lili silently for a while before lowering her head and saying, "Okay, I understand. I won't give up."

"Just keep this to yourself, don't tell anyone, or you'll get into trouble."

Although things are much more tolerant here than in previous years, it's still tense. If you were to go out and talk about it, it could cause trouble.

"Don't worry, I only know it in my heart, and Chu Ci won't know either."

Song Fang had known for a long time that this older sister was somewhat mysterious, as if she had some secret.

She never asked, nor did she tell anyone; she simply kept it to herself.

This is her sister. She believes she wouldn't harm her, so why insist on getting to the bottom of it?

"It's not that serious, as long as we don't go out and talk about it." Song Lili smiled and patted Song Fang's head, just like before.

Song Lili sat inside for a while and then came out; it wasn't a good day for her to stay indoors.

As soon as they came out, they saw Zhang Zeyu and Xue Jiao, with their son Zhang Xuezhi, entering the house.

It's a mystery how someone as calm and composed as Zhang Zeyu ended up with Xue Jiao, who's like a violent little girl.

Anyway, by the time she found out, it was already time for the two of them to get married.

Song Lili always felt that she had missed out on so many things because of her pregnancy.

"Cousin, cousin-in-law, you're here too."

Despite her inner turmoil, she didn't show it. She smiled and went to greet him, pinching the little face of three-year-old Zhang Zhixue. "You're here too."

Zhang Zhixue mispronounced "bad" because Song Lili was still pinching his cheek.

"Little guy, I like you, you know? How is it broken?" Song Lili couldn't put it down and continued to fondle it.

"Don't bully my son. If you want to play, go find your own child." Zhang Zeyu rescued his child.

My cousin became a completely different person after she got married. Not only did her temper change, but her personality changed too.

But who would have thought? This is what Song Lili is like in modern times: calm on the inside and playful on the outside.

This is the real Song Lili.

Everyone says she's changed, but it's just that there aren't as many crises around her, and she's gradually reverted to her true nature.
