Chapter Thirty-Eight: Buying Plastic Sheet Again

For some reason, she said those words to Zhang Qinghua without any consideration whatsoever.

A smile appeared in Zhang Qinghua's eyes. "Is that alright?" He then took the basket off her back and carried it on his own.

Song Lili watched Zhang Qinghua's actions with satisfaction. "Since you're so perceptive, I'll teach you properly too."

"Okay, I will study hard."

Finally, Song Lili took Zhang Qinghua and Daqing to the supply and marketing cooperative and bought the remaining seven or eight meters of plastic sheeting.

Song Lili chuckled.

I was just wondering when we would take these plastic sheets away, but it happened so quickly.

Although she didn't buy it herself, she was still happy.

Zhang Qinghua and Da Qing split the seven or eight meters of plastic sheeting.

Song Lili didn't say anything.

Daqing is her grandfather, so of course she wouldn't let him off the hook if there were any benefits to be had.

Zhang Qinghua was the first person who made her feel at ease in this place, and she considered him one of her own, though that cannot be ruled out.

Therefore, the two of them split the profits equally and both had to plant cabbages, and Song Lili was not unhappy at all.

Song Lili took Zhang Qinghua and Daqing directly back to her home, and then had Song Jianshe demonstrate to the two how to select bamboo and how to soak it.

After the two of them had learned how to make it, Song Lili said, "Soak the bamboo overnight, and I'll teach you how to make a greenhouse tomorrow morning."

"Okay, I'll wait for you." Daqing rubbed his hands together happily, looking just like a cat that had just caught a mouse for the first time, extremely excited.

Zhang Qinghua simply nodded and said, "Okay."

After the two people left, Song Jianshe asked with a displeased expression, "Lili, why did you agree to teach them how to grow cabbage?"

"What if they learn it and the supply and marketing cooperative doesn't want us anymore? We haven't finished paying off our debts yet."

Song Jianshe was getting anxious. He had finally found a way to pay off the debt, but how could his sister be so clueless as to tell others?

Song Lili couldn't help but twitch her lips as she looked at the petty-minded Song Jianshe. "I think you're probably overthinking it."

Song Jianshe, however, didn't think he was overthinking it. "I'm just stating the facts, okay?"

Song Lili couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Song Jianshe, please use your brain to think for a moment, okay? Even if they also grow cabbages, we can still sell them."

"Don't you think about it? This cabbage is harvested only once every forty days. It'll probably be sold out in one go. So what do you think we'll do with the remaining forty days?"

"Then I might as well teach them both. It would be a favor to them and also make Wang Daming remember our village."

With the director of the supply and marketing cooperative keeping an eye on you, how could you possibly worry about not being able to sell the vegetables you grow?

Although the reason given earlier wasn't her true feeling, it was true that Wang Daming was concerned about her!

Besides, "a common man is innocent, but he is guilty of possessing a treasure." If she earns money on her own, it will make people envious and resentful.

Therefore, it's better to teach them to people you already have a good relationship with. This will not only strengthen your bond but also divert your attention from this situation and improve their lives.

Why not do something that achieves multiple benefits at once?

After Song Lili's explanation, Song Jianshe understood.

"Lili, you're so smart. It's great that you came up with such a good idea."

Song Lili was speechless and wanted to ask, who was it that just called her stupid?

Song Yongren, who had been listening to the siblings' conversation from not far away, also said, "Lili did the right thing; this is the best way."

Song Yongren felt happy and proud.

I'm so happy that my daughter could think of so many things, and I'm so proud that she can be so thoughtful.

He told Song Jianshe, "Sometimes, it's actually a good thing to suffer losses openly. If you have good things, don't keep them to yourself. Learn to share them, and you'll get great results."

He praised Song Lili, saying, "Lili did a great job, even better than Dad. It seems Lili has really grown up and is a grown-up now."

Song Lili couldn't help but whine, "Big sister, I am an adult! And a very smart one at that." Well, from her previous life.

Song Yongren was amused by Song Lili's cute yet earnest appearance and couldn't help but stroke her hair, saying, "Yes, my Lili is the smartest child, and she is my greatest pride."

Song Lili pouted. Who does this childish tone fool? Don't treat her like a three-year-old.

But I was still happy inside. My efforts had finally been recognized by the person I cared about most, and I was so happy I could hardly contain myself.

With a smile playing on her lips, she happily ran towards the kitchen. She was so tired and hungry after a long day, she was going to treat herself to a good meal and then work hard in the future.
