Chapter 118

Secretary Song was still in a daze even when it was time to eat.

Comrade Su was so close to him just now, and her smile was so gentle, completely different from usual. He felt as if he had just experienced something.

That feeling after you've found a partner, a feeling that's a bit like maltose.

Everything tastes sweet.

Looking at Su Yu, who was quietly eating, he smiled and couldn't help but look forward to Mingliao, wondering how Mingliao would begin.

When people start dating, how do they begin, and what do they want?

It definitely needs to be the male comrade who takes the initiative; it can't be the female comrade who does it.

Let's get straight to the point and start dating!

Does it feel too flat and lacking in emotion?

This person, who always seeks shortcuts, now felt he couldn't start so simply. He had to do something, make a difference, to give Comrade Su a good start.

Love is beautiful, just like the beautiful poems written in the Soviet Union.

Comrade Su is also beautiful, so she must have a wonderful start.

Su Yu finished a bowl of dumplings and then started drinking water. Seeing how slowly he ate, and how he frowned as he ate, she asked, "Why aren't you eating? Is it not good?"

"No, I was thinking about something." Secretary Song smiled and ate her meal with her head down.

Su Yu propped up half her face and sat opposite him, watching him eat.

He's gotten a bit tanned lately, not as fair as before. But he looks more masculine now.

So, young gay men always grow up.

After finishing his meal, Secretary Song noticed Su Yu looking at him and asked sheepishly, "What's on my face?"

“It’s dark.” Su Yu uttered two words.

"..."

Secretary Song touched her face. "Is a dark face bad?"

Su Yu smiled and shook her head.

Secretary Song was somewhat skeptical. "...Actually, washing it thoroughly with soap should restore its whiteness. It's probably just coal ash." His tone was uncertain. Who knows if it can be whitened? He'd never seen any of those shady characters manage to "whiten" their skin.

Su Yu said, "It's alright, let it be black."

Secretary Song felt somewhat frustrated; who knew things would turn out like this in just a few days?

What a coincidence! Just when I was about to start dating someone, I had to go on business trips. And now it's all ruined.

Of course, now is not the time to dwell on this matter, he quickly said, "You lie down and take a nap, I'll wake you up later."

"Mmm." Su Yu lowered her head and lay down on the table to sleep.

Secretary Song borrowed a large palm-leaf fan from the waiter and started fanning her.

A gentle breeze caressed her skin, and Su Yu sighed contentedly. She found it much more comfortable than using air conditioning. Slowly, she actually drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up, it was already half an hour later.

Secretary Song gave her some water infused with mints, and after taking a sip, she felt completely refreshed.

Seeing the weariness in Secretary Song's eyes, she said, "You don't need to pick me up this afternoon. Dazhi can come instead. It's not like there's no one at home to pick you up. You should go back and get some rest."

"It's nothing, I often do this when I'm on business trips." Secretary Song carried her things out.

He really wasn't comfortable with his two brothers-in-law. Did they know how to take care of people? Did they even know what to prepare for the college entrance exam? They knew nothing. He might even need Comrade Su to look after him.

Su Yu stood behind him, watching his figure, and couldn't help but smile. She sat happily in the back seat of the car.

The afternoon exam was math. The math questions weren't easy, at least much harder than the Chinese exam in the morning. Fortunately, Su Yu already had some foundation. After reviewing the textbook, she had somewhat recalled the math knowledge she had learned as a child, and with the time she spent doing practice problems and the notebooks Secretary Song gave her, her math was quite good. She wasn't confident she would get a high score, but at least an above-average one.

Midway through, because it got a bit hot, she applied some medicated oil, which made her feel much better. After finishing the entire test, aside from feeling a little tired, she was still in good spirits.

She breathed a sigh of relief as she left the exam hall. The subject she was most worried about was over. She felt pretty good about it. Now she just had to wait for the results.

Outside the school gate, Secretary Song was still waiting.

"You don't need to tell me how the exam went," Secretary Song said before she could even speak.

Su Yu rolled her eyes. "I did pretty well on the test."

Then I got into the car.

Secretary Song also rode his bicycle and took her home. Knowing that Su Yu was very tired from the exam, he didn't take her out to eat, but instead took her directly back to the textile factory area.

As Su Yu got out of the car, he reminded him, "You can flip through some books, but don't stay up late studying. Get some rest early and stay alert. Don't eat anything unusual tomorrow morning; I'll bring you some steamed buns. Also, when you get back, don't discuss the exam with your family, and don't think about today's exam. Get some rest."

"..." Su Yu looked at his nervous expression and reached out to tap his ear. "I know, Secretary Song. How can your boss put up with you?"

Secretary Song blurted out, "I've never served my boss like this before." Her face flushed as she finished speaking.

Su Yu smiled, her hands behind her back, "You should go back and rest early too."

"Hmm." Secretary Song nodded, but still hesitated and was reluctant to leave.

Su Yu raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

"Ming...want to see a movie?"

“…Hmm.” Su Yu nodded. “Actually, I prefer strolling in the park.”

"Let's go shopping after the movie," Secretary Song said excitedly.

"Okay." Su Yu nodded with a smile. "I'll head back now." Then she turned and left.
