The next morning, Secretary Song was going on a business trip to Shanghai. He was also taking two other people from the secretariat with him, Xing Kai and Gao Aiguo.
Before leaving, I remembered that I was a little dizzy after being stamped last night, and I actually forgot to make a promise to Comrade Su.
So I found Zhu and asked her to tell Su Yu when she had lunch.
"Please tell her for me, I don't know how."
"Don't you know anything?" Zhu asked.
Secretary Song said, "That's fine with you. What she's worried about won't happen."
Zhu was even more curious. "What's wrong?"
Why is the child asking so many questions?
"What? I'm getting married soon," Zhu retorted, unconvinced.
Secretary Song asked in surprise, "Didn't you just say you were going to introduce someone to you a while ago?"
"If we've found someone we like, then of course we're getting ready to get married!" Zhu didn't feel embarrassed at all.
"..."
Secretary Song didn't say a word, turned around and left. What's the big deal? It's just getting a marriage certificate; he and Comrade Su even kissed. Marriage is just a matter of time.
He smacked his lips, then touched them, a pang of melancholy in his heart. He hadn't even left the house yet, and he was already starting to worry. What was he going to do?
This matter must be accomplished; we can't let the leader actually demote him.
Secretary Shi knew about Secretary Song's business trip a long time ago. After seeing Secretary Song leave the compound, his expression was somewhat unpleasant. When he returned to Mayor Chen's office, he couldn't help but ask, "If this matter is successfully handled, will it affect your career? And since Secretary Hao agreed, doesn't that count as making a commitment?"
Mayor Chen frowned. "Shi, don't say things so casually."
“I was worried about you too. After all, you went to see Secretary Hao before, but he didn’t give a response. But when Vice Mayor Qiu went, the matter was settled…”
"Moreover, that Secretary Su has a good relationship with Vice Mayor Qiu and the others, so it's inevitable that she might say something to Secretary Hao."
"..." Mayor Qiu took a sip of tea. "Su has only just arrived, and she's only a temporary secretary. Secretary Hao can't possibly listen to her opinions. Besides, I mentioned this to Secretary Hao last time. Secretary Hao is a sensible man."
Secretary Shi said, "After all, it's impossible to guard against everything."
"Have Su come to my office this afternoon. I'd like to give her a few pointers."
Hearing Mayor Chen's words, Secretary Shi was delighted. He believed that as long as Mayor Chen issued a warning, Su Yu wouldn't dare to do anything. Moreover, with Mayor Chen deciding to give Su Yu a heads-up, Ming was also beginning to be wary of this person.
...
Zhu is quite proactive; he conveyed the message while having lunch with Su Yu in the afternoon.
Su Yu smiled upon hearing this, then lowered her head and happily ate her meal.
"Sister Su, what kind of riddle is Secretary Song playing?"
"Who knows? I didn't understand anything either." Su Yu shook her head.
Zhu said, "I see, this is all so abrupt, who can understand it? By the way, Sister Su, my brother wants to invite you to dinner, along with Secretary Zhou and Secretary Gao. It's a pity Secretary Song isn't home, otherwise I would have also invited him."
Su Yu also felt it was time to have a meal. Since she started working in the city, she had been busy with work and studying, and hadn't had time to eat with these people.
These relationships need to be maintained. You can't distance yourself from your old friends just because your position has changed; that's a big no-no in making friends.
"Let's wait until Secretary Song gets back before we go eat, so we don't have to treat him to two meals. It'll save us some money too."
Zhu nodded happily. She'd gotten the job done; her older brother had promised to bring her two meals of braised pork.
Before Su Yu had even returned to her office after lunch, Secretary Shi came over with a lunchbox. Looking at Su Yu, he smiled and said, "Comrade Su Yu, I was just about to go to your office later. Mayor Chen wants you to come to his office this afternoon."
Su Yu nodded calmly, "Okay, I'll let Secretary Hao know and then I'll head over."
"Comrade Su Yu, aren't you going to ask what's going on?"
"What's the point of asking? Just do what the leader tells you to do, and listen to the leader's criticism. Besides, Secretary Shi can't possibly tell you. After all, this is the professional ethics of a leader's secretary."
"..."
Secretary Shi scoffed, "Indeed, one is influenced by one's company."
"That's a good phrase. Working alongside a leader like Secretary Hao has definitely elevated my ideological awareness. Isn't that a case of 'one is influenced by one's company'?"
Secretary Shi: "..." Just like Secretary Song!
He turned and left in anger.
After watching the person leave, Su Yu took the lunchbox and went back to her office.
Then I started thinking about what to do in the afternoon.
Originally, she didn't really intend to target Secretary Shi; after all, they were on different sides, and there was no need to start a fight. But it was clear that Secretary Shi was someone who couldn't stand being idle. He couldn't stay still if he wasn't looking for something to do.
As soon as she arrived at work in the afternoon, she made tea for Secretary Hao and neatly arranged all the documents and materials he needed to review that afternoon on his desk. Then she reported to Secretary Hao that Mayor Chen had asked her to come to his office.
"What does Mayor Chen want with you?"
Secretary Hao asked, puzzled.
“I don’t know either. Secretary Shi didn’t either,” Su Yu said seriously. “However, I’ve written documents for Mayor Chen before, so it might be related to this.”
"Alright, go ahead then." Secretary Hao nodded. However, he had some thoughts in his mind. Although Su hadn't complained to him, considering that he had just agreed to Qiu's plan, and Mayor Chen had called Su over, could it be related to his support for Qiu this time?
If that's the case, he'll really feel uncomfortable.
