Li Aihong disliked her older sister, who had come from another family later in life, completely. Before this older sister appeared, there were only three children in the family: Li Aihong, Aijun, and Aidang, and they lived a good life. They had grown up together, and in fact, in the revolutionary base area. When they went out, others envied them.
But then this woman from the countryside showed up. She was dressed shabbily and didn't talk much. Because she didn't have many clothes, she even gave the woman her own clothes. Why should she give her things to someone else?
Later, she refused, so her mother went to buy her new clothes. There were four children in the family, and that month, this eldest sister was the only one who wore new clothes.
She felt that this wasn't her older sister, but an outsider who had come to steal her things.
She had seen some of her uncles' homes in the compound before. Some poor relatives from the countryside would come to visit when they learned that their relatives were short of high-ranking officials. They would take a lot of things from the houses when they left.
My own is even stranger; it just lives at home, eating and drinking, and won't leave.
It used to be fine; my older sister wasn't talkative, so I just treated her like she wasn't there. Anyway, she'd get married soon, and that would be fine.
Who knows when it started, this older sister began causing trouble at home. Dad started showing favoritism, and the younger brother started listening to her and even siding with her. Now, even Aijun, who was on her side, has started doing other people's laundry.
Aijun is such a lazy person; she's never washed clothes for her in all her life. And now she's washing clothes for someone else.
Li Aihong's eyes reddened, and she grabbed Li Aijun and ran away from the pool. "Are you crazy? You're going to help her wash the sheets and blankets?"
Li Aijun thought to herself, "She's not stupid; she's doing this to make money." But she couldn't do it; if she did, the business wouldn't be possible. First of all, her mother would be the first to object. Her second sister had a good relationship with their mother, so that was out of the question too.
Although Li Aijun usually listens to Li Aihong in everything, she still has her own ideas when it matters. She pulled her hand away and said, "Second sister, what are you doing? Eldest sister is busy tutoring us. What's wrong with me helping her?"
Li Aihong: "..."
After Li Aijun finished, he went to wring out the bed sheets to air them out, as he had tutoring later.
Seeing Li Aijun's actions, Li Aihong angrily grabbed her again, "Have you been bewitched? How did you become like this? Didn't you hate her?"
Li Aijun thought to himself that he didn't like it now, but what could he do? His father only gave him two yuan a month. It wasn't enough.
"No matter how much I hate her, she's still my sister, isn't she? And she's even tutoring me!" She didn't want tutoring at all!
Li Aihong was so angry at her words that she gritted her teeth. Without saying a word, she turned around and went into the house to complain to her mother.
Li's mother was cooking when she heard her second daughter's words and quickly came out to take a look. She saw that her daughter was already hanging the bed sheets to dry, and her hands were red from the cold. She was surprised and said, "Aijun, why are you helping your eldest sister with the work? She is the eldest in the family, and she should do her own things."
Li Aijun quickly finished drying the clothes after receiving the instruction, and then said, "Mom, don't worry about it."
Li's mother: "..."
Just then, Li Ping came out of her room with her textbooks. When her mother saw her, she immediately scolded, "Pingping, what happened to you? Why did you make your sister help you with the chores? What happened to you?"
Li's mother is increasingly at a loss with her daughter. She's become so disobedient, truly disobedient.
Li Ping looked at her and said, "Mom, don't you always say that sisters should support each other and that we should be united? Now that Aijun is helping me with the work, why are you so unhappy?"
Li's mother was speechless.
Li Aidang was woken up by the noise. She got out of bed, ruffled her hair, and went out of the room. Seeing her three older sisters and mother outside, she asked curiously, "What's going on? Why are you making such a fuss so early in the morning?"
Li Aihong quickly called him over, "Aidang, your eldest sister actually forced your third sister to do chores!"
Li Ping said, "Ask Ai Jun yourself, I forced her not to have cherry blossoms."
Li Aijun put down the basin in his hand and shook his head vigorously, "No, no, my sister didn't force me."
"..." Li's mother looked at her eldest daughter, then at her youngest daughter, and finally waved her hand, "Fine, do whatever you want, I don't care anymore."
After that, he went back into the kitchen.
Li Aihong looked at Li Aijun and said, "Aijun, why aren't you telling the truth?"
“She didn’t force me,” Li Aijun said.
"..."
Li Ping remembered what Su Yu had once said: if you really don't want to use someone, then let them have no friends. In her mind, this younger sister was someone she didn't want to use.
So she looked at Li Aihong and said, "Why don't you want me and Aijun to have a good relationship? It's because you're jealous and selfish. You treat Aijun and Aidang like your pet cats and dogs, only letting them be with you and not with others. You feel unhappy when you see them being with others."
Li Aihong blushed and said, "You're blind."
Li Ping looked at her calmly. Then she turned around and sat down in the courtyard to read a book.
Li Aijun stared at her second sister in disbelief. "Second sister, what eldest sister just said wasn't real, was it?"
“Of course not, she’s blind,” Li Aihong said firmly.
Li Ping looked up at Li Aijun and said, "Try getting closer to me in the future, and you'll see if I'm blind. She'll definitely get angry at you. Because you and Ai Jun are just her lackeys."
Li Aidang retorted angrily, "I'm not anyone's Tom, Dick, or Harry! I'm a man!"
Li Ping said, "A real man should go and run with his friends."
In order to become a glorious soldier in the future, Li Aidang, under Li Ping's guidance, had to get up early every morning to train.
