Secretary Song said, "...How about we drink malted milk powder next time? Milk powder is fine too?"
"...Get in the car!"
"What are you doing?"
"go home!"
…………
After burying herself in her studies at home on Sunday, Su Yu dressed neatly and went to work early Monday morning, with two braids in her hair and dressed simply.
Secretary Hao hadn't arrived yet in the morning, but Secretary Yan was already in the office. When she saw Su Yu arrive, she smiled and said, "Comrade Su Yu, I'll have to trouble you from now on. You must take good care of the leader's life and work."
"Secretary Yan, rest assured, I will do my best and live up to the expectations of the leaders."
"Okay, that's fine. Secretary Hao hasn't arrived yet, so let me tell you about his usual work schedule."
Su Yu quickly took out her notebook and wrote it down.
Generally, in this kind of handover, if the relationship isn't close enough, the handover won't be very detailed. At most, it will involve handing over some work-related matters, but things like personal experience accumulated over time, and even the leader's lifestyle habits, won't be discussed in great detail.
However, because of Secretary Song's connection, Secretary Yan still offered a few more words of advice.
"You must be punctual and not be late for work. Secretary Hao is very strict. Of course, if it is an important matter, you must report it in advance."
Su Yu carefully wrote everything down and said gratefully, "Secretary Yan, thank you for reminding me."
Secretary Yan smiled and said, "No need to be so polite, it's all for the sake of doing a better job. The fact that you were selected by the Secretariat shows that you are capable, so I have nothing to worry about. Alright, let me take you to Secretary Hao's office. There are some preparations to be made before Secretary Hao arrives."
Secretary Hao's office was very simple, with hardly anything on the desk. There was a teacup, though. Without Secretary Yan's prompting, Su Yu rinsed the teacup with boiling water and took out tea leaves from the tea cabinet. The tea wasn't in a bag, but wrapped in newspaper. Chairman Sun of the textile factory's union had used the same kind of tea before; Su Yu hadn't expected Secretary Hao to use the same. She couldn't help but admire the officials' incorruptibility.
After brewing the tea, Su Yu followed Secretary Yan to organize the documents on the table, all of which were waiting for Secretary Hao's approval.
Just as she finished tidying up, Secretary Hao arrived at the office. He was taken aback when he saw Su Yu.
"Hello, Secretary Hao," Su Yu greeted him formally, without even a smile on her face.
Secretary Hao nodded solemnly, then looked at Secretary Yan.
Secretary Yan also said seriously, "Secretary Hao, this is Su from the Secretariat."
"Oh, I've read the file. He's a good comrade. You two can go through the handover process first." After saying this, Secretary Hao lowered his head to drink his tea and then began to read the documents.
Secretary Yan then led Su Yu outside.
"Secretary Hao is a man of few words. Just do more work and talk less. Oh, and remember not to get too close to others; Secretary Hao doesn't like that."
"Understood." Su Yu nodded solemnly.
Indeed, every leader has their own style. Look at Secretary Shi and Secretary Song; their styles of handling things are truly diverse.
In the past few days, Su Yu hasn't had many opportunities to interact with Secretary Hao; most of the time, she's been working alongside Secretary Yan to familiarize herself with the situation. Su Yu hasn't tried to impress Secretary Hao either. After all, before Secretary Yan leaves, she certainly doesn't want anyone taking away her opportunities to interact with the leader.
Anyway, there was plenty of time, so Su Yu wasn't in a hurry. Instead, she focused on learning from Secretary Yan and carefully observed his work habits. She discovered that even though Secretary Yan taught her a lot, he still held back some knowledge.
So she always paid close attention to observation and recording, because once Secretary Yan left, she would have nowhere to learn these things.
Back in the secretariat, everyone was a little unaccustomed to Su Yu's absence from the office. Although Su Yu hadn't been in the office for long, her presence was incredibly strong.
Not only was Su Yu unaccustomed to it, but Mayor Chen was too. Meetings required prepared speeches, but Secretary Hao had somehow managed to make her his temporary secretary.
There's no one to write the drafts anymore; we can't exactly ask Secretary Hao's secretary to write the materials for us.
In the past, Secretary Shi would have definitely assigned Chu Hong to write it directly. However, since he had fallen out with Chu Hong, he ignored her and handed the task over to the secretariat, asking Director Zhou and the others to arrange for someone to write it.
Director Zhou said, "I remember when Su left, she handed all the materials to Li, right? Let her write them. They're both veterans, so it shouldn't be a problem."
Deputy Director Liu quickly asked Li Mei to write a draft for Mayor Chen.
When Li Mei received the assignment, she thought she was hallucinating.
After a few seconds of hesitation, he quickly replied, "I'll write it right away, I'm ready at any time!"
Upon hearing the news, Chu Hong's eyes turned red with anger. After work, she went straight to Secretary Shi and demanded, "Brother-in-law, what do you mean by this?"
"It's nothing, just business as it is." Secretary Shi snorted and turned to leave.
Chu Hong's eyes stung. She regretted not being able to control herself and arguing with her brother-in-law. Now she had nothing left.
Li Mei is a senior comrade who has written many articles of this type since her time at the Women's Federation. With Su Yu's guidance and experience, she didn't find writing this article too difficult and finished it in a short time.
The second secretary took a look at the manuscript and found it somewhat familiar.
"The handwriting does resemble Su's somewhat."
"Yes, everyone in our office is practicing Su's handwriting. Her handwriting is beautiful," Li Mei said honestly.
Secretary Shi: "..." This sounds a bit strange.
Upon closer inspection, not only are the fonts similar, but the layout is also similar.
