Chapter 84

Su Yu had experienced happiness before.

She was happy even when there was no male heir to carry on the family line. Her father was cowardly, but he still had a conscience. Her mother wanted a son, but ultimately had no other choice. Her grandfather worked hard as a middleman, ensuring the family's livelihood.

Yes, the family was indeed quite happy back then.

The dream of happiness will eventually end, and even family ties can be discarded like worn-out shoes.

"Sis, why are your eyes red?"

Su Zhi ran while saying this, his eyes showing concern. "It's been a long time since my older sister's eyes have been red."

Su Yu smiled and said, "It's nothing, I'm just happy. Our family finally has a big house. I'm so happy."

"Sister, I'm happy too."

Su Zhi grinned and then shouted, "Brother, you're off! It's mine now. I want to ride the bike!"

Su Dazhi stomped on the car a few times, and it managed to slip away quite a distance before he stopped the car and let Su Zhi chase after it.

After Su Zhi caught up and got on the bike, he stared at the crossbar on the bike and said, "How about I sit in the front?" He really didn't want to walk anymore.

Su Yu looked worried. "What if you fall?"

"No, sister, I won't fall," Su Dazhi said with a simple smile.

Su Yu rolled her eyes. "I'm not worried about you falling, I'm worried about you getting run over by the car and falling over."

However, Su Zhi was eager to try, "Brother, why don't you come up and try it? I've improved my cycling skills recently, and I can even straighten the bike without holding it up. Let's see."

Su Dazhi quickly sat down. Su Yu clearly felt the car sway slightly, but thankfully it stabilized quickly. However, Su Zhi's next action startled her. That brat Su Zhi actually didn't use his hands to hold on. Instead, he let Su Dazhi hold the front of the car.

"...!!!"

The car soon started moving again.

"Sis, am I awesome?" Su Zhi said proudly.

Su Yu yelled, "Su Zhi, you better ride your bike properly! If you fall and I fall, I'll break your legs!"

Su Zhi: "..."

When the three siblings returned home, many people had already arrived. Old Liu's eldest brother and sister-in-law were there, as were Secretary Zhou and Secretary Gao.

Su Yu said to Secretary Zhou and the others, "We should have been back much earlier, but we invited the municipal party committee leaders over today, so it will take a long time."

Upon hearing this, Secretary Zhou and Secretary Gao understood. It seemed that the municipal party committee truly held a positive opinion regarding the textile factory matter.

So, does that mean their workplace can build houses according to this model?

Su Yu smiled and said, "You two just got off work, why don't you go back and rest? I can move things myself." Anyway, these two were just here to hear news from the municipal party committee, and now that she'd given them the information, she didn't intend to trouble anyone else. Good steel should be used where it's needed most; these connections shouldn't be used as drudgery.

Secretary Zhou was displeased. "What are you saying? We've already come all this way to help you move. It would be troublesome if we hadn't come."

Liu Mei said from the side, "Sister, Secretary Zhou is willing to help, so don't be too polite."

"Comrade Liu Mei is so straightforward," Secretary Zhou said with a hearty laugh.

"You really want to be a strong laborer?" Su Yu said. "Alright, alright, then I really won't be polite. Let's have dinner together later."

With the large flatbed cart that Secretary Gao brought, there were many people helping to move things. Originally, they were going to move a few pieces of Tang, but they finished moving everything in one trip.

When Su Yu left home, she locked the door behind her.

People came over to ask her what happened to her house.

Su Yu smiled and said, "It's already been sold to someone else. Once they've raised the money, the ownership will be transferred."

Upon hearing this, everyone dispersed. Those worries vanished.

The houses have all been sold; the Su family is quite quick.

On the way, I encountered many textile factory workers moving, all heading to the same place, quickly forming a procession. This attracted the attention of workers from other factories who stared wide-eyed.

If you run into an acquaintance on the street, someone will stop and chat for a bit. "Our house is 60 square meters. It's not a single room; it's partitioned off. There are two rooms in one house. There's also a place to eat. If you come over sometime, we'll have a place for you to sit."

"A 30-square-meter apartment is enough for just the two of us... As for the kids' apartment? Don't worry, they'll take over my place and build their own."

The textile factory workers all had a proud look on their faces.

When we arrived at the textile factory area, many people were already using various tools to bring household appliances into the area.

Su Yu's family lives in apartment number nine. It's a large apartment, and there are fifteen families living in similar units. Some are leaders, some are ordinary workers, and it's a group of families with many members sharing one unit. Larger apartments have their own toilets and kitchens. The other type of apartment, where several families share one, is inconvenient for everyone.

The Su family was so excited when they moved in that they were blushing and their hearts were pounding. The red brick house with its cement floor was so bright and airy inside—it was wonderful!

Even Secretary Zhou and Secretary Gao were incredibly envious. This was what a proper house looked like! Unlike their own place, where rows of houses were crammed together, and when someone came to visit, you could see the whole thing at a glance.

"Sister, come in, come in," Su Zhi urged. Su Yu quickly went to open the door.

Everyone worked together to move the furniture inside.

Just as I entered the room, Secretary Song arrived on her bicycle, her face still sweating. Upon seeing me, she immediately wiped her sweat and walked over formally.

"You moved in so quickly?"
