Su Yu first went to the logistics department and booked a car with Director Liu, who was in charge of logistics.
Director Liu, a man in his forties, still dressed himself up like a young man, his hair neatly combed. For someone like that, Su Yu had only one word: praise. Praise his spirit and youthful vigor. Only after he smiled happily did she begin to discuss ordering the car.
Upon hearing that Su Yu wanted to book a car, Director Liu asked curiously, "Isn't it not time yet? Why are you driving so early?"
"Let's order early so I don't forget later. Could you please help me get a form? It would be so bad if I had to make a trip here and got scolded by my boss." Su Yu smiled.
Director Liu then helped write out the invoice and said, "Hey, Dazhi, did you buy a new fish and stove? Forget about the stove, where did you buy the fish? You and I know, fish are hard to find these days, supply can't keep up with demand. Our knife is so dull it can't even chop a cabbage anymore."
That's an exaggeration. Su Yu smiled and said, "Where can you buy this in the market? I asked a friend to buy it for me. I'll get you one later. It's great for chopping vegetables, it can even cut big bones."
Director Liu immediately beamed with joy, "That's wonderful!"
After completing the forms, Su Yu checked them and found the dates matched. Then she asked, "By the way, Director Liu, what do you think of the factory-provided housing your family is currently living in?"
Director Liu raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? You want a house too?"
Su Yu waved her hand, looking indifferent. "What? My family has a house. I heard from my sister-in-law, who works at a steel factory, that the factory leaders live in very spacious houses, some even with three rooms. I was just curious about what kind of houses our factory leaders live in."
Hearing Su Yu's words, Director Liu's face fell. "Don't even mention it. Our factory can't compare to them. They're large companies, and with our country's massive steel production boom, they're highly valued. How can our light industry unit compare to those engaged in heavy industry?"
Su Yu shook her head, feeling quite frustrated. How did she end up in the central factory? If she were still working at the steel mill, things would be so much better. She might even be living in a big house by now.
Now, it's so hard to find a decent place to live. That's the downside of starting from a low point.
After receiving the car reservation form, Su Yu said, "We've made the reservation, so let's not let someone else reserve it."
Director Liu waved his hand, "I know that. How can we give the order to someone else to use it after it's already been issued? It won't look good later. We'll do things according to the rules."
Su Yu was relieved. The saying goes, "The first to strike is the best," and they couldn't let anyone take advantage of the situation.
After booking the car, Su Yu returned to her office, twenty minutes later than usual. Seeing that Su Yu was late, Committee Member Hu asked curiously, "Su, why are you so late today?"
"I arrived early. I went to check in with Chairman Sun and found that his office floor hadn't been swept, so I swept it for him. He's our union chairman, after all; he needs a good working environment. If the factory committee saw this, they'd laugh at us. Just as I was about to come back, Chairman Sun asked me to order a car for him, so I went to the logistics department to order one." She showed the car order form to Committee Member Hu.
When Committee Member Hu took a look, he exclaimed, "Oh, it really is!"
"I never thought Lin was very busy before, always going to work and leaving on time. You've only been here a short time and you're already so busy, which means Chairman Sun has a lot of things to do."
Su Yu nodded, "I felt there were a lot of things to do, but I was thinking about things here, so I came back as soon as possible. I can't let our work be delayed."
Committee Member Hu smiled and said, "You should just focus on Chairman Sun's work. How can I let you take on two roles at once? Wouldn't that be exhausting? No, I need to hurry up and recruit people here too. I'll talk to the factory committee later and have them post the recruitment notices."
Su Yu smiled and said, "I don't feel tired even if I work hard. I'm very happy to work for the organization. Committee Member Hu, please don't rush things. Take your time. Finding a good person is the most important thing. After all, we'll be our revolutionary comrades in the future. Don't worry about me, or I'll be letting the organization down."
I haven't even had a chance to settle in yet, and you'd better not bring someone back already, that wouldn't be fun.
“We definitely need to choose the right people.” Committee Member Hu nodded in agreement.
The work was originally intended for Officer Lin. However, Officer Lin took leave to find an excuse to temporarily leave his post, so Su Yu didn't slack off and continued with her work. The results of the first two competitions had been summarized, and now all that was needed was to send out the notifications.
These achievements will not be rewarded at the moment; they are just being made known to everyone. Rewards, namely salary increases for the relevant personnel, will be given after the twelve-month competition ends.
Su Yu had just finished writing the summary report and the results announcement sheet when she handed them over to Committee Member Hu for review.
Putting everything else aside, as a boss who frequently reviews reports and various forms, Su Yu's reports and tables are all very well done. They are clear and easy to understand.
The only thing that frustrated her was that there were no computers here, and everything had to be made by hand. She spent ages just writing that form with her pen.
While Committee Member Hu was still observing, Su Yu glanced at the office clock, then stood up. "Committee Member Hu," she said, "I'll go report to Chairman Sun about the car, just in case he's busy and forgets." She couldn't let her old boss think she'd been forgotten just because she'd found a high-ranking official. She had to make sure things were clear beforehand.
Committee Member Hu nodded, "Go ahead, I'll take a look first, and I'll talk to you when you get back."
Su Yu then went out.
After Su Yu left, Committee Member Zhang smiled and said, "If it were me, Su would be someone who works hard at everything. She can do everything well. Look at Lin before, she wasn't this meticulous in her work. Usually, when Chairman Sun called her, she would only go to the office once and just wait for instructions. Su is much more dedicated."
