Chapter 16 Proposal for Grain Distribution

After carefully examining the tractor's structure, Fan Xiaofan had a clear understanding of it.

Seeing Li Dafu's eager gaze, she didn't think about drawing up the blueprints and selling them to the mall first, but instead carried out the inspection first.

Fan Xiaofan was initially worried that some part had malfunctioned. If that were the case, she didn't have any raw materials on hand, and she was afraid she would have no choice but to go to the provincial capital to find the part.

Fortunately, the parts were fine. In Fan Xiaofan's opinion, this tractor design was an outdated and obsolete product. It was so bad that even garbage collectors in their era wouldn't bother to pick it up.

But in this day and age, it's a treasure.

"The rotating shaft is out of oil... Is there any oil available?"

Li Dafu quickly responded. His cousin, Li Daquan, who was specifically responsible for watching the tractor, immediately took the key, carefully opened the cabinet, and properly took out the supply oil.

Fan Xiaofan turned the small crank handle dozens of times, listened to the sound, and said, "It's done..."

Li Dafu's eyes widened in disbelief. Usually, when their tractor broke down, they would go to great lengths to get the technicians to come, and those technicians would have to look at this huge machine for several days before they could determine the problem...

It's only been a little over an hour, and it's already done?

"It really works?"

Li Daquan was much stronger than Li Dafu. Seeing his cousin standing there dumbfounded, he pulled him aside and said, "I'll try and see."

The tractor, which had been unable to start no matter what he tried a few days ago, started making a rumbling sound again today, followed by the smell of black engine oil. Fan Xiaofan coughed because of the smell.

At this point, Li Daquan and Li Dafu no longer cared about her, and shouted excitedly, "It really worked..."

The sound of the tractor attracted most of the villagers. Li Dafu said excitedly, "Now, this won't delay the work in the fields. Next year, if we produce more grain, we won't go hungry."

This is probably the simplest wish.

Fan Xiaofan saw that the villagers were looking at the tractor, which in her eyes was nothing but scrap metal, with eyes as bright as if they were looking at the future with fervent hope.

Li Dafu didn't forget Fan Xiaofan and said excitedly, "This time, we owe it all to this little girl, Xiaofan."

"I want to discuss something with everyone. Xiao Fan looks so delicate and frail, and I was worried about putting her to work, not knowing what kind of job to assign her. But now it's all right. From now on, she'll be in charge of our village's most precious machine. Also, I said before that I wouldn't give her any grain, but look at her now, she's got the ability to fix this big machine. She's a talent we can't even ask for..."

Although Li Dafu said this, Fan Xiaofan noticed that after Li Dafu mentioned the distribution of grain, everyone's expressions changed, and they all showed signs of reluctance.

Everyone was starving, and yet someone wanted to take their grain; naturally, the villagers were unwilling.

These days, Fan Xiaofan has witnessed how these people are suffering from hunger. It is springtime, but when she went to the mountain a few days ago, it was still lush and green. However, in just a few days, many wild vegetables have been gone, and even the wild grass has been almost picked clean by the children sent by each household. In these days, anything that is green is used to fill people's stomachs.

Otherwise, relying on the meager amount of grain distributed throughout the year, they would probably have starved to death long ago.

Food is their lifeline.
