Chapter 2 Compressed Biscuits

The upgrade mode, as the name suggests, is like fighting a boss in a game, level by level, which is why the store interface is now so bare.

If you want more, you need to keep upgrading.

Fan Xiaofan wanted nothing more than to drag the lemon out and spank it, and asked through gritted teeth, "How do I level up?"

Lemon seemed to realize she had made a mistake, and immediately offered her explanation upon hearing the question: "It's very simple. As long as the host keeps providing technology products to the store, you can earn points and exchange them for gold coins."

Fan Xiaofan's smile was already quite eerie.

hehe……

In her past life, she could easily have taken a single item from the technology research and development field; it would have been a simple matter. But now, it's practically a pipe dream.

All around were dirt, trees, and people walking with their backs bent.

"Little Lemon, I remember this system can be destroyed..."

Fan Xiaofan's voice carried a hint of threat. "Hmph."

Little Lemon shuddered and reminded you in a very human way: "Host, the technology of our era is already advanced, and your vision is also high. However, Little Lemon can remind you that in ancient times, primitive people modified stone tools, in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, bronze was cast, and in the Spring and Autumn Period, Lu Ban showed off his axe skills. The evolution of tools is actually another kind of technological evolution."

Fan Xiaofan seemed to be deep in thought, and quickly stood up. She had an idea. Not far away, there was a big tree with many dry branches lying at its base. She picked one of the branches and prepared to make a simple little gadget to earn some points to exchange for food.

As the designer, Fan Xiaofan designed the system based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Initially, the system would focus on food. As the system progressed, it would offer more advanced technological products, such as air guns. Of course, users could also purchase advanced mechanical parts to develop even more sophisticated items to sell to the mall.

With so little in hand, I barely managed to grind the wood into a tenon with a stone. I was so hungry and weak that I was covered in sweat after finishing this little thing.

Fan Xiaofan sold the items to the mall and earned one point. The mall then opened its first-level interface, where the first item appeared: compressed biscuits.

She quickly converted her points into a gold coin, which she could use to buy a bag of compressed biscuits.

Fan Xiaofan chose a secluded spot and wolfed down two compressed biscuits. With something to digest, her stomach finally stopped cramping and she felt much more comfortable.

She hadn't had water for two days, and the compressed biscuits were dry, so it was inevitable that she would feel thirsty.

Fan Xiaofan was no longer as lost as before. She already had the initial exchange goods in her hands. The meaning of goods lies in exchange, and they can realize their greatest value in circulation.

Moreover, in this era of food and drink shortages, Fan Xiaofan was quite certain that the compressed biscuits in his hands were definitely a form of hard currency.

There were six compressed biscuits in a bag. Fan Xiaofan ate two and planned to exchange the remaining four.

She decided to get some water first, and then inquire about some information. Since she couldn't stay at the guesthouse without a letter of introduction, she could at least use these compressed biscuits to discuss with someone to arrange a temporary place to stay.

With food in his stomach, Fan Xiaofan's mind started working quickly.

Her gaze quickly settled on a middle-aged woman with a worried expression. She was dressed neatly and cleanly, and it was clear that her family was relatively well-off, but she had a sick relative and was looking for something because she couldn't buy anything good.

Fan Xiaofan lowered her head and walked over. When they were close, she whispered, "I have some food here, do you want some?"
