Chapter 49. Who knows where a child gets a scrape?

After getting off work, Fan Xiaofan went to the daycare to pick up Fu Weidong.

In those days, nurseries were all publicly run and mostly free of charge, requiring only the provision of some food coupons.

As soon as she saw Fu Weidong, she rushed over. She saw several scarlet marks on his face. Suppressing her anger, Fan Xiaofan asked, "What happened?"

The nursery teacher glanced over and said, "Oh dear, the child is just being silly, maybe he bumped into something somewhere."

He looked at Fan Xiaofan with an expression of utter astonishment.

Fu Weidong pouted, looking aggrieved: "Sister, I was very good. She did it."

"Your child is lying. They have no manners at all. They clearly bumped into something, how can they blame it on me?"

The nursery school teacher dismissed Fu Weidong's complaint and instead mocked him.

“You bumped into something, but you did manage to get a wound like this.”

Fan Xiaofan was so angry that her hair was almost standing on end. She grabbed the teacher's hand and immediately noticed her sharp nails. Enraged, she pushed the teacher to the ground.

Compared to Fan Xiaofan, this nursery teacher was much more physically robust. Unfortunately, she was caught off guard and was pushed down by Fan Xiaofan with a clever push.

To Fan Xiaofan, Fu Weidong was an insecure little dumpling. He was afraid that she would abandon him and would never lie to her. Moreover, it was already very clear who was right and who was wrong in this matter.

The nursery teacher, Wang Ya, who was caught off guard by Fan Xiaofan's direct action, was the sister-in-law of the factory's deputy director.

He often bullies people, but what can others do because of the deputy factory director's influence?

Even if a child is bullied at daycare, all the teachers can do is advise the child to be obedient and not to upset the teachers, since the teachers don't have time to take care of the children when they are at work.

From now on, the children will be under that teacher's supervision. Even if they suffer any losses, they will have to smile and praise Wang Ya. Otherwise, what will happen to them in the future?

Wang Ya was pushed to the ground and exclaimed in a spoiled manner, "How dare you push me! My hand..."

The ground was now all muddy and covered with small pebbles, and Wang Ya's hands were scraped.

Fan Xiaofan snorted coldly: "I'll pay for your medical expenses, but you also have to pay for my brother's medical expenses."

Her parents, who doted on her in her past life, taught her the most important thing: never back down when faced with trouble, and to just shower her with money.

She ignored Wang Ya, glanced at the wound on Fu Weidong's face with heartache, and breathed a sigh of relief when she guessed that it wouldn't leave a scar. Then she asked, "Why did she attack you?"

Fu Weidong's eyes sparkled as he held Fan Xiaofan's hand. No one had ever gotten hurt because of him before, and no one had ever protected him like this before...

Back when he lived with the Tian family, he was bullied by several of their children. In the past, when his family brought him food, the Tian family would only say a few indifferent words. Later, when the Tian family saw him being surrounded and beaten by those children, they would just laugh and watch the show.

"She's trying to steal my bread roll."

Fu Weidong spoke in a cute and innocent voice.

The small bread rolls were prepared by Fan Xiaofan for Fu Weidong. The child had been malnourished before, and at five years old, he looked about the same size as the three-year-old child in her memory—thin and small. In those days, food was scarce everywhere, and she guessed that there wasn't much good food at the nursery, so she prepared a few small bread rolls for Fu Weidong to eat when he was hungry.

“I was eating quietly during my break, and she asked me for some. When I refused, she started hitting me and trying to take it… She even snatched the bread rolls from me…”

He explained clearly why Wang Ya had attacked him, and his last sentence sounded even more aggrieved than if he himself had been injured.
