Chapter 7 Cookie Mixture

The village chief's house.

Now the whole family is gathered around the table, drooling.

It smells so good.

I don't know who had the rumbling sound of their stomach, but there was also the sound of someone swallowing saliva.

The village chief felt that the taste of milk in his mouth had not yet dissipated. Such a good thing, just thinking about it made him want to smack his lips. But then he remembered that he had already tasted it, and as the head of the family, he could not be greedy anymore.

To be fair, the village chief's family has a lot of able-bodied men, and they are living a relatively good life. However, for most of the year, the family eats only wild vegetables and cornbread.

Where have I ever seen such a novel thing as compressed biscuits?

Nowadays, not to mention children, even adults can't help but swallow their saliva. However, adults can resist the urge, thinking only of sharing it with the children in their families. But this large family has more than a dozen children, so how can they possibly share such a small piece?

The village chief's wife, a shrewd old woman, grabbed the things in her hand and said, "We'll use these precious things to fill our stomachs when we really have nothing else to eat."

Instantly, a chorus of wails erupted.

The smallest grandson whimpered, "But Grandpa ate it all, so we just wanted to try it, just a tiny bite."

As he spoke, he even gestured with his finger.

So pitiful.

Unfortunately, in those days, food was the lifeblood, and the village chief's wife was heartless.

It was the village chief who finally spoke up, saying, "Give the children some food. In this day and age, if you don't have some good food to nourish them, their bodies will suffer. If you don't raise them well now, they'll suffer when they grow up."

As the head of the household, the village chief's wife, though reluctant, nodded, but asked with difficulty, "How are we going to divide this? How about we each take a bite?"

But that's not fair. If someone bites more than others, the others will feel like they've been cheated.

The village chief said, "The little girl said she could soak it in hot water."

A compressed biscuit was placed in a large bowl of hot water, and it eventually turned into a bowl of biscuit paste. A child drank one spoonful and that was it.

The old lady felt so sorry for these unruly children that she couldn't afford to raise them.

But the mischievous kids were already cheering happily, and they were even pursing their lips cautiously, savoring the sweet taste.

Fan Xiaofan had no idea that the compressed biscuit he gave away had won over the hearts of the village chief's group of mischievous children.

The village chief was an honest man. After receiving some good things, he and his son helped Fan Xiaofan tidy up the thatched hut so that it could finally be lived in.

The village chief's children were also curiously observing the young lady who had given them compressed biscuits. Fan Xiaofan thought for a moment, then took out a cornbread from her pocket and let the children share it.

It wasn't that Fan Xiaofan was being overly kind; it was just that she couldn't possibly eat all that cornbread, and since the village chief's family had been so kind, this was all she could offer as a small token of her gratitude.

The children cheered when they received the cornbread. Children are energetic and get hungry quickly, but there was never any extra food at home. They were overjoyed to receive this unexpected treat.

Fan Xiaofan sighed.

After the village chief's family left, Fan Xiaofan sat in his thatched hut and suddenly felt like singing "My Thatched Hut Is Broken by the Autumn Wind".

In August, the autumn wind howls fiercely, tearing away the thatch from my roof...

Now she has nothing but a thatched hut.

Life is tough, but luckily I'm multi-talented.

Thinking of this, Fan Xiaofan tugged at her cheeks; her original baby fat had faded quite a bit after these past few days of fuss.

Try your best to sell the technological products you make to the system, keep upgrading, and try not to go hungry.
