Xing Baohua felt that they weren't helping for nothing! Multi-faceted cooperation? How much cooperation is possible with just a broken learning machine?
Let's ignore him for now and focus on securing the order for 500 units.
Orders worth nearly 200,000! And this is just the beginning.
Just as I was about to bring up the contract preparation, Teacher Cheng walked straight to the phone, took out a small notebook from his pocket, flipped through a few pages, and started making calls.
"Old Li! Hmm, this is Old Cheng. I've got a big business opportunity for you, haha, come to Lushangguzhuang Electronics Factory."
She made three phone calls in a row, and they all said the same thing. Xing Baohua didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
A tiny factory like yours talking about big business? Just two production lines, how much capacity do you think you have?
Since they're offering to help us, we'll see how it goes.
After Teacher Cheng finished his call, Xing Baohua thanked him.
Then we discussed the contract.
Teacher Cheng said she couldn't sign the contract herself, and that someone else would come to sign it later.
Xing Baohua thought about it and realized that it made sense. The other person was just helping to make the introduction; it didn't mean they could make the decision. There were people specifically in charge of this.
While drinking tea and smoking, we somehow ended up talking about wireless projectors again.
Xing Baohua is in a real bind! People just helped you, gave you orders, and even helped you find manufacturers.
You don't understand anything they say? Do you really think they're stupid?
Xing Baohua said calmly, "You must have a purpose! I won't ask that. I'll just tell you the purpose so I can at least know the general idea and help you think about how to design a solution. If you just tell me in general terms like 'just wirelessly projecting images,' that's difficult."
Xing Baohua continued, "How is it difficult? Take an outdoor VCR for example, projecting it onto a TV. All you need is a cable, and cables don't cost much! Adding a wireless device is expensive, and is it even practical? Even for technological advancement, you need a signal converter, like a digital audio/video graphics card. We can't make one right now, can we?"
"Can you design an image processor?" Professor Ren asked.
"GPU?" Xing Baohua asked.
"What's wrong with the GPU?" Xing Baohua was relieved to hear Teacher Ren's question. Since it wasn't a graphics card or graphics processor, that made things easier.
"It's a processor that can display images or videos on a computer without increasing the burden on the central processing unit," Xing Baohua explained.
"We're not talking about the same thing. I'm referring to a digital decoding chip. It's the chip that converts analog signals into digital signals and then back into analog signals. For audio like yours, isn't it just analog-to-digital and then digital-to-analog conversion?"
It sounds a bit convoluted, but the analogy is apt. Digital decoding, to put it simply, boils down to signal issues, bandwidth, wireless transmission distance, and interference. It's just not working!
Xing Baohua can use 2.4G Bluetooth technology to help them with wireless transmission. But for a distance of only a dozen meters, to be honest, a wired connection is still more suitable. Not only is it resistant to interference, but if there is any electromagnetic interference, just add a ferrite core.
Xing Baohua felt that the other party wanted more than just that.
"Can encryption algorithms be used to resist interference in wireless transmission within 10 kilometers?" Professor Cheng, who hadn't really discussed this before, asked.
"I can handle anything within 20 meters, but 10 kilometers? Sorry, I really can't. Unless..."
"Unless what?" Teacher Ren pressed.
“Unless we choose a public frequency band, the frequency bands we use now are all within a fixed framework. To break out of the frequency band, we might be able to increase the transmission distance without interference. Unless there is electromagnetic interference.” Xing Baohua finished explaining, with a look of utter despair.
My own wireless work is all within the framework of frequency bands, as well as various baseband research.
But the other party keeps leading me astray, making me think too much. What do you really want? Just a purely wireless transmission, or something else?
Not only did I make a complete mess of things, but I also felt a bit dizzy.
"Teacher Cheng, Teacher Ren, I still need to check on the workshop. Why don't you go ahead with your work?" Xing Baohua tried to pull away from them. They wouldn't get anything out of this conversation in a couple more days.
Finally, Teacher Cheng glanced outside the door and asked in a low voice, "Do you know Xiao Niu?"
"Niu electric scooter?"
"..."
"?"
The three of them stared at each other, wide-eyed. Then, Teacher Cheng and Teacher Ren shook their heads at each other.
Xing Baohua nodded slightly.
"That's a type of wireless television-guided weapon," Teacher Cheng said in a low voice.
"You want to study this?"
One nodded, the other shook his head.
Teacher Cheng said, "Switch to digital mode. Analog guidance is too prone to interference."
"Isn't there a wired one too?" Even if Xing Baohua didn't understand, he knew there was a wired one.
"Wireless is always more convenient than wired. Besides, wired connections are more expensive and have a shorter range."
Xing Baohua dared not say anything, nor did she dare to ask any further questions.
