Chapter 186 Adds a Touch of Rhythm to the Cold Night

Around 5:30 PM, I was eating the boxed lunch provided by the central government. Thankfully, the food was still warm; if it had been provided any later, it would probably have been completely cold.

That's the situation; the director got carried away and wanted to mess around on set. He wanted to learn from the Olympics.

We have the technology, but our equipment is lacking!

The worst thing is the lighting. Even with all the lights around the stadium turned on, it's still brighter than the stage lights.

Of course, Xing Baohua is an amateur, the kind of person who talks without understanding the situation.

The gala was held as scheduled, and it was only then that we realized there were indeed some problems. The lighting technicians had been busy the whole time, and there were still some issues with the wiring.

Xing Baohua watched the program like a spectator. Fortunately, his seat was relatively close to the front, and under the lights, he could still see people's faces clearly.

Sometimes when the lighting technician shines a light, it's so bright that I have to raise my hand to block the light.

Xing Baohua didn't even know how to complain. He turned to Wang Weibao beside him and said, "Did you see this scene? The equipment is clearly not up to par with the technology, resulting in a dark venue and inconsistent coordination. You need to keep a close eye on this aspect when Zou Wenjuan holds concerts in the future."

After Xing Baohua reminded him, Wang Weibao stopped paying attention to the program content and started carefully observing the scene.

At the same time, I was also thinking to myself, "The boss is indeed the boss, he has a sharp eye! He can even see through such a problem."

The show wasn't very appealing; the songs were terrible. The two mentors, Ma and Jiang, were also cracking jokes and making quite a scene.

Xing Baohua couldn't appreciate the three songs by Roman Tam.

The atmosphere was a bit tense; people in the back rows probably couldn't see those in front. The people carrying things and those preparing to go on stage couldn't coordinate their efforts.

The scene isn't finished yet? The people backstage have already come up.

It was a mess, and it certainly looked awkward to those present. But those watching on television wouldn't see it.

Because during the scene change, the camera switched to the host's side.

After the Cantonese opera performance ended, the drum kit and electronic instruments were ready to be brought on stage.

Xing Baohua perked up.

Even in the coldest weather, this song will bring a touch of warmth.

An emcee announced, "Next up, please welcome the first heavy metal band in China, the Fire Rose Band, for a fantastic performance."

Xing Baohua thought to himself, "Why is it categorized as heavy metal? Where are Zou Wenjuan's future pop and mainstream songs going to fit in?"

He has no one to blame but himself; this was a consequence of Xing Baohua's own actions.

Zou Wenjuan was dressed in a black leather jacket, which reflected the light off her body.

When Xing Baohua saw the reflection, she instinctively covered her face – how much shoe polish had she used?!

With her legs slightly parted, the pose really resembled that of a rocker.

The drumbeats begin.

Heavy metals are following suit.

After training for so many high notes, Zou Wenjuan finally managed to hold the high notes. She didn't crack, and she really hit the high notes.

The spirit of rock and roll is the shouting that needs to be unleashed.

Wow, Zou Wenjuan really got the whole scene hyped up.

The audience members who were originally wrapped up in their military overcoats sat up straight and swayed to the rhythm of the music!

After finally finishing her song, Zou Wenjuan bowed and prepared to leave the stage.

I don't know who started shouting for an encore.

One sound, two sounds

Immediately, the entire audience at the Workers' Stadium shouted.

Who has ever seen anything like this before!

The same host, Xing Baohua had no recollection of her at all, and hadn't heard anyone introduce her before.

She walked up to Zou Wenjuan and said with a smile, "Wow, you sing so well! Look how much the audience loves your songs. They all want you to sing another one."

Zou Wenjuan took a couple of breaths; she was indeed a little tired from singing that song. She saw the enthusiastic audience calling for an encore.

This was my first time in such a large setting, and I was incredibly nervous.

He glanced sideways at Xing Baohua in the audience, as if to say, "What are you going to sing?"

Seeing Zou Wenjuan's expression, Xing Baohua said to Grandpa Li and Wang Weibao, "You two go up and help her. I'm afraid she'll be too nervous to handle it."

"Shall we go up and sing a new song?" Grandpa Li asked.

“Okay, let’s sing a new song.” Xing Baohua nodded emphatically in response.

Grandpa Li grumbled, saying, "Playing the suona during the New Year is so festive!"

That's what they say, but Grandpa Li's tone suggests something else entirely.

Can't the suona be played on the Spring Festival Gala anymore?

During this brief respite, Ma and Jiang, master and apprentice, came up again to crack jokes, giving Grandpa Li, Wang Weibao, and the others time to prepare.

Wang Xinfeng handed the guitar to Wang Weibao, and the two switched places.

Grandpa Li then had someone set up a microphone for him.

There was a bit of confusion on the scene; why were more people being added?

Accordion, what's that horn? Holy crap, a suona playing with heavy metal?

This is a complete overhaul!

They all stared wide-eyed and craned their necks, waiting.

The host asked Zou Wenjuan, "What is the name of this song?"

"This song is a title track from my latest album. 《i

want

my

tea

I hope you all enjoy "back".

The host then said, "Is this an English song? The translation is 'It brought tears to my eyes'."

"You could say that, thank you," Zou Wenjuan said, and then began to prepare.

Because this song is quite difficult! It uses bel canto and high notes.

You need to focus your energy in your lower abdomen and accumulate some vital energy.

It brought a surge of passion to the 1980s.

As soon as the music started, the suona horn began to play.

Besides lying down, what else is there to say?

Especially when Grandpa Li plays the accordion, it's like he's showing off his skills in a flamboyant way.
