Chapter 263 The Mysterious Attack

Xing Baohua didn't ask why, stood up and left the room with the guard who had notified him.

As soon as he stepped outside, he saw more than a dozen men in suits surrounding his two bodyguards.

The two guards weren't nervous at all. They stood with their backs against the wall, cautiously watching their opponent. Their hands were already at their waists, ready to draw their weapons at any moment.

Xing Baohua walked over and asked, "Who are you people?"

The leader of the dozen or so men turned his head and glanced at Xing Baohua when he heard Xing Baohua's question. He said, "Who do you care who I am? These two men beat up my men. They're not leaving here today."

Xing Baohua never asked his men why they hit someone, because he knew his men wouldn't easily cause trouble; they must have been acting on impulse.

"My name is Xing Baohua, and my people are being taken away." Xing Baohua had just finished speaking his domineering words.

Then Li Shao's voice rang out from behind: "I thought someone was causing trouble here? Turns out it's Xie Sen's man, Qiang. You're causing trouble here, have you thought about the consequences?"

Young Master Li's influence was still quite useful. The leader, named A-Qiang, apologized and then disappeared down the corridor with his men.

Xing Baohua returned to the private room and asked Young Master Li, "Who are they?"

“It’s the gang from across the strait. With me here, nothing will happen,” Young Master Li said casually.

He raised his glass and clinked it against Xing Baohua's.

After drinking enough, everyone left.

Some young men, accompanied by their female companions, might be heading to other places, and they'd all be waiting at the door to get into their cars.

Xing Baohua had only taken a few steps after getting into the car when a guard beside him told him to lie down.

Suddenly, a muffled sound like a bean was heard in the old car where Xing Baohua was sitting.

The glass wasn't broken, but it was scratched.

Pedestrians outside screamed and scattered in all directions, while the young men waiting for their cars were so frightened that they ran into the nightclub.

Xing Baohua's three bodyguards got off the car from the other side, and after a few tactical maneuvers, they found cover and began to fight back.

As Xing Baohua lay inside the car, he thought to himself, "Bulletproof cars are the best."

Then I heard a sound like thunder, and the car bounced and shook a little.

Xing Baohua cursed inwardly, "How dare they throw a grenade!"

Did we encounter mercenaries or some other armed force?

Fortunately, his guards were effective, and the loud noises outside gradually subsided.

Using cover, the three men took advantage of the small device in their hands to shoot one enemy after another.

One of them, who was about to throw a grenade, was hit by one of the explosions. The grenade in his hand rolled towards Xing Baohua's old car, exploding just before it reached the bottom.

The car almost flipped over. Luckily, the chassis had a steel plate, otherwise it could have been blown through.

This scene is comparable to a movie scene.

Hong Kong hasn't seen such a bustling scene in years.

There was basically no further activity. Xing Baohua was asked to leave and retreat into the nightclub.

The guard called for backup from home via his mobile phone.

One person stayed at the door to keep watch, while the other two accompanied Xing Baohua back to the private room.

Upon entering, I saw several young men sitting together, all of them pale-faced.

Some of them were even trembling, and the girls next to them were also quite flustered; two of the girls were even crying.

Upon seeing Xing Baohua enter, he seemed reassured and asked, "How is it outside?"

Xing Baohua shook his head and said he didn't know, then asked, "Did you call the police?"

"With such a commotion, someone's bound to report it. If you have enemies, say so sooner! Don't drag us into this!" The speaker was a young master named Guo.

Their family's wealth was no less than that of the four major families.

Xing Baohua shrugged and said, "I don't know who my enemy is either?"

He walked over to Young Master Li and asked, "I suspect it's that group of people from earlier. Do you know them?"

“They’re a bunch of scoundrels from across the strait. There’s no need to make such a big deal out of such a small matter. I’ll call and ask.”

At this moment, J also arrived. With such a commotion, they couldn't afford to delay.

The scene was horrific; 8 dead and 3 injured. The attack was truly brutal.

Everyone thought it was a gang fight, but who knew it involved Xing Baohua? The 8 dead and 3 injured were all caused by Xing Baohua's bodyguards.

Xing Baohua began to fight back after being attacked.

It's a classic case of self-defense. Besides, Xing Baohua's guards are all trained and licensed people. Counterattacks are considered self-defense.

With the addition of the top lawyer hired by Xing Baohua, the operation was completely legal and compliant.

Some pointed out that the three men's retaliation was excessive. The lawyer bluntly stated that a dozen people using several automatic weapons and grenades was like waging war.

"Too much? You weren't the one attacked, so it's easy for you to talk when you're not the one suffering the consequences."

The ringleader who attacked Xing Baohua fled long ago when he saw that things were not going well. The police's warrant for his arrest was useless, and he took a boat back to the other side that very night.

Those who survived the injury knew nothing when questioned, and out of a sense of loyalty, they didn't say anything.

The attack on Xing Baohua remains an unsolved case.

However, Xing Baohua always believed that his attack was related to a dozen or so people with whom he had conflicts.

It was only later that I heard that the authorities there wanted to use gangs to eliminate the rising stars of the mainland.

Eliminating a tycoon would be a fatal blow to the economic development of mainland China.

Although it was just hearsay, Xing Baohua still believed it to some extent.

This loss was quite significant!

And it's the kind of thing that can't be reported. That's what really made Xing Baohua uncomfortable.

As a public figure, Xing Baohua's incident will definitely be widely reported in the newspapers.

Many media outlets have applied to interview him, but he has refused them all.

Some media outlets on the market didn't spread rumors; they reported things in a proper and conventional manner, and also expressed some speculative thoughts, allowing everyone to guess.

Most media outlets reported based on J's investigation.

Xing Baohua did not go to the company the next day, but instead directed operations remotely.
