Chapter 28 is about to be robbed

"Make arrangements later to hear how the loudspeakers made by Comrade Xing Baohua are so appealing to foreigners."

"Yes, Factory Director," Director Xue nodded in response.

"As for how to reward Comrade Xing Baohua, let's not rush that. The Party Committee and the factory office should study the plan first. Alright, meeting adjourned." The factory director gently slammed his hand on the table, and everything was settled; no one could change his decision.

Hou Liwei stood there dumbfounded. What happened to the promised expulsion? What happened to the promised punishment?

He became a minister in the blink of an eye. Is this how things are done?

Indeed, if your boss thinks highly of you, even the biggest mistake won't matter.

Your boss will find you annoying, and no matter how well you do, it will still be considered a mistake.

Xing Baohua didn't know what the outcome of his case would be today. Whatever the result, he had a plan. If he was really expelled, he would go to the provincial capital.

Other punishments don't matter. Deducting bonuses or wages is fine, since he still has over a hundred yuan left.

Xing Baohua and Xu Shuai drove their tricycle, carrying the stereo, to the factory office building. Since the leaders were having a meeting, Xing Baohua and Xu Shuai left the stereo in the computer room.

He turned and went to Su Ya's office to wait for Director Liu.

Su Ya was quite pleased and poured water for Xing Baohua from her own cup, completely disregarding the fact that Xing Baohua had come to the factory office to be dealt with.

Xu Shuai also peeked into the office and saw Liu Juanjuan tidying up her things. He coughed softly.

Liu Juanjuan smiled slightly when she saw him, and then said to Su Ya and Xing Baohua, "You two chat first, I'm going to deliver some documents."

Su Ya blushed and thought Liu Juanjuan had deliberately made room for the two of them.

Xing Baohua didn't think so; she always felt that there was something wrong with Xu Shuai and Liu Juanjuan.

"I forgot to ask you, your home isn't far from the factory! Why are you living in the single dormitory?" Su Ya leaned against the table and asked Xing Baohua.

“I had night shifts a while ago, so I could rest nearby during the day. Actually, it was so I could play cards with them,” Xing Baohua said, flipping through a few magazines on the table.

Two of them were magazines he had published in. When he saw that one of them was a science fiction magazine, he looked a little embarrassed. Is this considered a dark history?

"Do you live alone? I saw several beds there last time." Su Ya said, lowering her head and playing with the hem of her clothes with her two small fingers.

Xing Baohua chuckled softly. What was he implying by asking these questions?

“Don’t think no one lives there, everyone lives there. They’ve been changing shifts lately, so they’re not sleeping there during the day. Why don’t you come over to my place for a bit later?” Xing Baohua said with a chuckle.

"You're so mean, I'm not going." The little girl actually wanted to take the initiative! She was thinking the opposite, afraid Xing Baohua would really drag her to the single dormitory to sit or lie down or something. She just wanted to ask Xing Baohua if he lived alone or with others.

The two chatted casually in the small office. Most of the time, Su Ya asked some trivial questions, while Xing Baohua answered them half-heartedly, as he was also thinking about something.

As the sound of a large group of footsteps approached, Xing Baohua knew the meeting was over. His eyes were fixed on the door; if he saw Director Liu come out, he would have to go find him later.

As Director Xue passed by the door, he happened to make eye contact with Xing Baohua and heard Director Xue say, "It's good to see you here. Factory Director, Comrade Xing Baohua is waiting here."

As soon as she finished speaking, Director Li appeared at the office door, surrounded by a number of people. Su Ya nervously moved to the side, afraid that the two of them would be criticized by their boss for chatting and laughing in the office.

Factory Director Li stepped forward a few steps and extended his hand. He wanted to shake hands with Xing Baohua.

Xing Baohua was also a little surprised. What was going on?

The other person offered him a helping hand, so he had to be polite; this was a high-ranking leader, the kind he saw regularly.

"Hello, Factory Manager," Xing Baohua said politely, shaking hands.

"You really dare to launch a satellite!" Director Li released Xing Baohua's hand, smiled, and pointed with his finger as he spoke.

"I wouldn't dare," Xing Baohua said, lowering his head slightly. He still hadn't figured out what the leaders meant.

"Next time you launch a satellite, give the factory a report beforehand, otherwise it will put the factory in a rather passive position. I just saw your $30,000 speaker in the computer room. Come on, turn it on and let us hear it too." Factory Manager Li smiled and turned to look at the people behind him.

"Something's wrong," Xing Baohua said.

"What?" This was the question asked by Director Xue.

The smile on Director Li's face gradually disappeared, and he looked at Xing Baohua to listen to his explanation.

“The voltage was unstable last night, and it burned out. If the leaders want to hear the story, they need to go to the repair shop. I can fix it today,” Xing Baohua said.

"You little rascal! Fine! I'll come over to inspect your place after I'm done with this busy period." He pointed at Xing Baohua again before turning and leaving.

Xing Baohua's mind raced. Judging from the leader's tone, he was fine. Did that mean the factory wasn't only not stopping the verbal deal with the foreigners last night, but was actually going to facilitate it?

Then there's only one possibility.

Thinking of this, Xing Baohua thought to himself, "Damn it!"

The factory has its eye on the $30,000 in foreign exchange.

"Is it a good thing or a bad thing?" Xing Baohua thought to himself, then quickly weighed the options in his mind.

Director Xue was the last to leave. Before leaving, he said to Xing Baohua, "Come to my office this afternoon. The people from the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office will be here at noon. There are some things that need to be clarified. No matter what, the factory will back you up."

These words were directed at Xing Baohua, firstly to let him act boldly, assuring him that the factory would back him up no matter the consequences. Secondly, it meant that the factory would handle the foreign affairs office without Xing Baohua needing to worry about any diplomatic responsibilities.

$30,000 for an endorsement?

Is it appropriate? This question was constantly weighing in Xing Baohua's mind.
