Chapter 42 Demonic Sound: One Plus One Is Two

After a frantic smashing, Xing Baohua finally managed to create a crack. He then used the bent pair of scissors to pry it open, and finally managed to pry it open with his hands.

It took him a lot of effort.

Upon examining the internal structure, it was indeed as he had guessed.

No, it should be the recipe he told Zhao Shanhai; he just made it up to get rid of Zhao Shanhai's harassment.

Who knew this idiot would actually do it?

Connecting an audio cable to a speaker is simple. But what's the point?

This speaker system can only be powered by the device itself, and the volume is not as good as the device's built-in speakers. This thing is only suitable for temporary external playback of devices such as portable music players, MP3 players, and computers.

This speaker system is a bit large, so it consumes a lot of power; you'll know once you use it.

Is the purpose of making the exterior look nicer just to scam a bunch of people?

Xing Baohua said to Director Li and Director Xue, "This thing is nothing special; you'll understand once you look at its structure."

Factory Director Li and Director Xue looked at the dilapidated speaker and nodded to each other.

"Xiao Xing, you can go back and get busy. Take this piece of junk with you while you're at it," Factory Director Li said, waving his hand dismissively.

Xing Baohua thought to himself, "If I had known this thing was mine, I wouldn't have smashed it so badly. It's beyond repair. The exterior quality is really good. I wonder if Zhao Shanhai's company offers warranty service?"

While Xing Baohua was smashing the speaker, many people came out to watch from the hallway, whispering among themselves. Director Liu glanced at the factory manager's office and then chased the onlookers back into his office, telling them to close the door.

When Xing Baohua came out carrying the broken speaker, there was no one left in the hallway.

When the young man arrived at Su Ya's office, Su Ya almost burst into tears upon seeing him. If Liu Juanjuan hadn't been there, she would have rushed over to him.

Liu Juanjuan knew that Xing Baohua had just gone to the factory director's office; Su Ya had told her. Curious, she asked, "Xing Baohua, the factory director was furious in his office. Do you know why?"

She was alright when she didn't speak, but once she did, Xing Baohua saw how bright red her lips were, and it gave him a bit of a creep.

"What nonsense! Who told you that? You guys spread rumors all the time. I just came out of the office, and the factory manager was all smiles and perfectly fine," Xing Baohua explained.

"If you don't get angry, why are you throwing things! Bang, bang. The whole hallway could hear it. Don't believe me? Ask Su Ya." Liu Juanjuan said, pointing at Su Ya.

"This! See this thing? The sound you heard is me smashing this thing." Xing Baohua said, showing the two of them the speaker she was holding in her arms.

"What is this? It looks like a small megaphone. Why did you smash it?" Xing Baohua felt a strong sense of familiarity with this three-question approach.

"The factory manager gave it to me, telling me to take a look at it. If I can't figure it out, I'll just smash it. Um, Su Ya, give me the thing, I'm going back now." As he spoke, he reached out to Su Ya for the thing.

Back in the shop, Xing Baohua got busy.

Somewhere in the city, three young men sat drinking tea. Liu Haibo had a long-haired woman nestled in his arms.

“Changjie, isn’t your uncle at customs? Why don’t we use his connections to get a batch of electronic products from Japan?” Liu Haibo said.

Sun Changjie shook his head and said, "My uncle might be transferred this year, so I'd rather not cause him any trouble."

“Everyone’s rushing south to plunder things these days. Our connections don’t extend that far, so what we get are things that others have already discarded. I think we should just get things locally, so that if anything happens, we can cover it up on our own turf,” Liu Haibo said.

Zhang Taoming, the chubby boy standing nearby, said, "I have a feeling that we've been ripped off when we made these circuit boards."

“No. Taozi, I’ll have to make you go all the way to the south. Don’t they have some good stuff? We need the whole set.” Liu Haibo said after a moment’s thought.

"What are we going to do with these stuck with these tapes? We've already spent over 30,000 on them, and you're still going to keep putting more in? Also, I still don't understand why you ordered a high-end audio system?" Zhang Taoming asked.

"Uncle Liu from the Municipal Bureau of Culture likes symphonies. When he's drunk, he often talks about his cultural trips abroad, always saying how great foreign symphonies are. Get him a good sound system so he can listen to them. Once he gets used to them, he'll realize how much effort we put into getting those tapes and records from abroad," Liu Haibo said.

"Don't mention that old lecher. If it weren't for the trouble with your shipment, would my cousin from the countryside have been ruined by him?" the girl next to Liu Haibo said, sounding a little annoyed.

“A country girl like her will be ruined sooner or later. Didn’t getting her a permanent position as a temporary worker solve that problem for her? The Cultural Bureau Archives is such a good job, why is she still not satisfied? Don’t mention this again. You can’t even talk about it.” Liu Haibo said angrily, prying the girl leaning against him away.

"No, I just feel sorry for my cousin." The girl was taken aback by Liu Haibo's tone and explained softly.

“These days, if you want to get anything done, who doesn’t lose out? You’re losing out by sleeping with me, right? Damn it, if you feel like you’re losing out, get lost. I don’t care about you,” Liu Haibo said angrily.

"That's not what I meant!" the girl hurriedly explained, then grabbed Liu Haibo's arm again.

"You two, stop arguing. Go back to your bed and argue. Let's get down to business!" Sun Changjie said, raising his chin in displeasure.

Liu Haibo lit a cigarette, leaned back, and said to Sun Changjie, "Go ahead and talk, I'm listening."

“I still have about 20,000 yuan on me. Fatty, add another 20,000 yuan, plus the little money you had before. We’ll get a whole set of loose computers directly from the south. Xing Baohua knows how to assemble them, so we’ll have him assemble them first, and then send someone over to learn from him,” Sun Changjie said.

“I think highly of this kid. Why don’t we get him involved and share some of the profits with him?” Liu Haibo said.

Xiao Pang and Sun Changjie both shook their heads slightly, and Liu Haibo said nothing more.
