Chapter 428 A tea fee of forty million!

Chapter 428 A tea fee of forty million!

Theoretically speaking, this vehicle is indeed a pickup truck, just dressed in pickup truck skin.

In reality, this is just a truck; its primary function is to carry cargo. To operate it domestically, the doors must be printed with information such as the district, town, and gross vehicle weight.

Besides, this thing looks good but is useless!

The car performed well in the test; you can't really tell much just by watching it drive in a straight line.

The hard work of over a hundred people is evident here; if it can run, then it's a good car.

The roar of the turbocharger is so exhilarating, a true muscle car. Everyone who sees it will love it.

The car's interior is all made of genuine leather, and all the necessary functions have been added, especially the entertainment system, which has been installed all at once.

This car is great in every other way, except for its high fuel consumption.

One press of the accelerator and it consumes more than 20 liters of fuel, and that's only with 95/98 octane gasoline.

Who could stand that kind of fuel consumption? Only people who love this car and have plenty of money drive it. Driving it on the road is basically an eye-catcher. Just like when we saw a Hummer back then, we were curious and envious.

Foreigners feel this even more strongly than we do.

The original design of the fuel tank was only about 80 or 90 liters, but in reality, the empty vehicle weighed more than 3 tons. The 80 or 90 liter fuel tank might not be able to travel far, so Xing Baohua suggested increasing the fuel tank to 150 liters.

That's about it; nobody knows how far it can run. We can only determine that through testing and trial runs.

Time is running out, so I can only estimate it using a vague figure. It's roughly 600 kilometers.

Only Xing Baohua would dare to do something like this. Anyway, it's not like they're delivering cars at the Canton Fair; the estimated delivery time is the second half of this year or next year.

With this time, we can produce a batch of cars first, and then conduct certifications with other institutions to obtain certificates of conformity from Europe and the United States.

Xing Baohua did some mental calculations and figured he'd be content if this line could produce 10,000 vehicles a year. Besides, the profit margin wouldn't be very high; he'd steel himself and just aim for 20,000 yuan per vehicle.

One should be content.

Watching the car race back and forth on the track, Wei Laisong turned to Xing Baohua and said, "Don't you have another model? Haven't you finished it yet? Is it on time?"

"It should be able to make it in time, probably in about a week. There are still some technical issues to resolve," Xing Baohua explained briefly.

"Isn't it just a matter of putting wheels on it and it'll run? Don't be so fussy, the more fussy you are, the more problems you'll have," Qian Bin interjected from the side. He now understood that car factories made cars like it was a joke; they just assembled them and they were done.

Look at this car. From the initial idea to its actual production, it only took a little over twenty days. That's an incredible speed in China.

However, I've heard that they can build a car in ten minutes or even one minute. It seems that statement is largely an exaggeration.

No one has come forward to explain what mass production speed is.

"It can run, but the key problem is that there are some unresolved issues with the internal structure. The biggest problem is still electricity," Xing Baohua explained.

"Electricity?" Wei Laisong and Qian Bin asked at the same time.

Then Wei Laisong smiled and said, "Isn't that easy to do? Don't all vehicles come with a generator? Is the generator too small? If it's too small, replace it with a bigger one!"

Xing Baohua shook his head, unable to explain what "electricity for a motorhome" meant.

In fact, Xing Baohua had already considered this problem when the RV was in its initial outline and the interior was being decorated. The electricity that needed to be stored could only be supplied by water batteries given current battery technology.

It used six 100Ah batteries, each weighing over 70 kilograms, which was quite a struggle for one person to move.

If converted, it's equivalent to 7200 watts, or 7.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity.

Let's install a 12-volt, 3000-watt inverter in this RV. It can carry not only an air conditioner, refrigerator, and TV, but also a microwave and oven.

You can cook a few meals on short notice. If you rely on the refrigerator to run on batteries, it will only last for about ten hours, and that's just in theory. There are also losses and other factors involved.

The key challenge now is how to charge the battery using solar panels... well, let's just say it's not ideal.

The conversion rate for civilian use is too high, and even if it were achievable, it would be too expensive to use.

Once a layer of aerospace-grade solar panels is laid, one-third of the car will be visible.

Unless you add a small generator, it takes about 10 hours to fully charge the battery, and you have to endure the noise of the generator during those 10 hours.

After trying many methods, a suitable solution could not be found. Finally, Xing Baohua made the decision to add a small 1500W generator to the rear of the vehicle.

Wrap the surrounding area with sound-absorbing cotton to reduce noise.

Moreover, small generators are inexpensive to manufacture. Once the electricity problem is solved, everything else becomes easier.

The plastic panels in the bathroom, the plastic casing of the mini washing machine, and the plastic casing of the air conditioner are all custom-made at the plastic factory.

The mold cost alone is tens of thousands. Of course, the cost of the molds will be spread out once the car is mass-produced. But right now, we're in a rush and only need to produce the shell.

Anyway, if you can get away with something, just do it. The person watching the car won't take their dirty clothes to the car to wash them.

The air conditioner is easy to arrange; we can order one directly from the Yicun air conditioner factory. During the demonstration, we can use a voice-activated smart system to show the air conditioner.

The CA10 chassis is also suitable for these two unconventional vehicles.

The chassis technology, which has been modified by a team of experts, is no longer the previous CA technology. It has improved shock absorption and reduced length.

The current model number is CN-A1.

Wei Laisong and Qian Bin left after inspecting the car, while Xing Baohua stayed behind to accompany the group of test drivers back home.

Next came the production of promotional videos and brochures for the car. A large quantity also needed to be printed for guests attending the Canton Fair.

As Xing Baohua was about to leave after exchanging a few words with several parking lot engineers, his phone rang. When he asked who was calling, he learned it was Engineer Cheng.
