Chapter 469: An incompetent general can lead to the downfall of an entire army; that's exactly what I'm talking about.

But in this guy's eyes, they were all a bunch of naive young people who had never seen the world, and that saving money depended on the circumstances.

Interrupted by Geng Rui, Xing Baohua stopped thinking about the hacker alliance. He glanced at his watch; it was a little past nine.

Xing Baohua took out his pager and sent a message to Su Ya, asking what the topic of today's discussion was.

Not long after, Suya sent a message saying that everyone was having a tea party.

...

This really surprised Xing Baohua, who was afraid that the meeting agenda would be changed in order to leak secrets.

Is there any point in holding this conference?

The hacker alliance was using this as a training exercise to gather information on trolls; their real intention was something else entirely.

Suddenly, Xing Baohua's expression froze, as if he had set up a trap and gotten his own people into it.

He discovered and warned about the things the trolls were collecting, and then realized something was wrong; it wasn't actually aimed at this financial negotiation meeting—that's something he only figured out today.

The saying "An incompetent general brings ruin to his army" probably describes someone like him.

If this were an ancient battlefield, how many soldiers would have died unjustly because of his actions!

A warning once alarmed both the national government and the national education department, and the two major departments even sent students to him. Now there's a huge misunderstanding!

To save face, Xing Baohua had no choice but to cruelly continue down the wrong path, recruiting only naive and clueless young trainees.

I pretended to log into the main server again to check the situation. After cleaning up some malicious software and viruses, I found that the server was running well and there was nothing wrong.

The University of Hong Kong has already assigned people to keep a close eye on the speed limiter, just waiting to see who takes the bait; it's a very time-consuming task.

Xing Baohua then checked the food delivery website and ordered lunch for everyone.

Geng Rui noticed that Xing Baohua's monitor had changed from displaying codes and numbers to showing pictures of dishes. Curious, she leaned closer and asked, "What's this?"

"Food delivery websites are where you order whatever you want to eat through your computer, and they deliver it to you. You don't have to go out to eat or worry about what to eat; you just look at these dishes and choose." Xing Baohua said, then looked up at the young girl and added, "Aren't you going to work on your code?"

“I, I find you are right. The more I write now, the more it feels like I’m going in circles, without any end.”

"Then there's no need to write it; just use the existing tools."

Geng Rui added, "You didn't grasp the key point. If you had, you should have been able to finish writing quickly."

“Then write it. If the storage isn’t enough, there are new hard drives over there, and we also have micro hard drives that are small in size but large in capacity. No matter how much you write, I’ll support you.” Xing Baohua said, but in his heart he felt that this girl was stubborn and wouldn’t give up until she hit a brick wall.

He's like a newborn calf that's not afraid of tigers. He doesn't even know the steps to being a hater, yet he wants to create a defensive tool for himself?

From an outsider's perspective, Xing Baohua's attitude is unacceptable. People come here to learn; they can't be left to their own devices. You have to set a framework for them, defining what content they should learn within that framework.

Xing Baohua's philosophy was different. They needed to adapt to the environment when they first arrived, and Xing Baohua didn't know their basic skill level, so he could only observe them by letting them roam freely.

Geng Rui immediately started working on the tools, even though this guy had warned her before that it would be difficult!

But we can't stifle this enthusiasm! Programmers should be free-spirited; if they let their minds wander, they can create great things. If you put a box around their ideas, then their work will definitely not be very good.

At noon, everyone ate the takeout ordered by Xing Baohua. Afterwards, Xing Baohua handed over the task of ordering food to Geng Rui, who could simply log into his account to order whatever she wanted.

"Boss, what is our food allowance?" Since she was in charge of ordering meals every day, Geng Rui wanted to know how much each of them could afford to eat.

"Is 100 per person enough? No, 150. Fifty per meal on average is enough too." Xing Baohua was referring to three meals.

But after he finished speaking, the entire room fell silent.

Isn't this food allowance excessive? It's almost equivalent to their monthly salary for a day's meals.

Although prices are higher in Hong Kong, the food expenses for a group of ten or so people are only about HK$1,700 to HK$1,800 a day. If they cook for themselves, it would probably cost less than HK$200, and that would be with fish and meat.

Xing Baohua seemed to have noticed something and said to them, "Eat well, drink well, and work hard. That's the working philosophy of our temporary office."

After finishing speaking, Xing Baohua stood up and said, "You guys keep eating. I'm going to rest next door for a while. If you want to rest, you can go over there after you finish eating. The whole floor is ours, and there are many empty spaces. Feel free to use it."

As soon as Xing Baohua left, the seven students, apart from a few programmers from his hometown, gathered together to chat.

I feel that Xing Baohua is using money to corrupt their pure hearts. Should we report this to our superiors?

Geng Rui listened to them talking with her arms crossed. Another female companion said, "Giving so much for food, why don't we ask the boss if they give us cash instead and save it up!"

“Back in school, I only spent 20 dollars a month. Even though Hong Kong dollars are a bit cheaper than our currency, it's impossible for me to spend over 150 dollars! How much was that bowl of noodles I just ate? Five dollars. We can buy noodles for less than 30 cents each.”

One of the programmers from their hometown, named Liu Zheng, who had returned from studying in the US, listened to their conversation and said with a smile, "Can't you eat and drink well? Why do you have to tighten your belt and make yourself suffer? Do you know the treatment at the Rice Lab?"

“Senior brother, we were completely stumped by the food expenses before we even had a clue. Could you explain it to us?” one of the students wearing glasses asked.

“There’s also a lab in Hong Kong, where I worked for a day or two and ate the meals there. They were free and the food was very good. The lab at the rice mill didn’t cost more than a hundred dollars a day, but fifty dollars was enough, considering the low cost of living and the cheap chicken, duck, fish and meat. Rice is never stingy when it comes to food and lodging.”
