Xing Baohua may not own a private yacht, but that doesn't stop him from borrowing one with a single phone call.
Young Master Li owns two yachts, which are usually idle. They only go out to sea a few times a year, but every time they do, it's the envy of others.
Xing Baohua borrowed a larger vessel, 45 meters long, with three decks. The lower deck contains storage and ballast compartments.
When Xing Baohua arrived, he saw the captain and sailors inspecting the yacht.
Instead of rushing onto the ship, he lit a cigarette in the car and waited for Captain Han.
Xie Yingying, sitting on the other side, held a briefcase on her lap and was intently looking at the documents without saying a word.
Xing Baohua is indeed much more relaxed now, as many tasks are handled by a dedicated secretary, saving him a lot of time.
Captain Han arrived more than half an hour later than expected, bringing eight people who split into two cars.
After meeting Xing Baohua, the group boarded the ship.
The captain, sailors, and stewards were temporarily laid off.
Xing Baohua's guards took full control of the yacht. A few minutes later, it sailed away from the pier, not heading into the open sea, but circling Hong Kong Island.
Xing Baohua took out a bottle of red wine, opened it, placed it in a decanter, and said to Captain Han, "What important matter is it that you have to come out to sea to discuss?"
"Didn't you ask me to find you two superconductivity experts? They were supposed to review some materials and give me a report, saying that the data on your hard drive could allow our technology to leap forward in a short period of time."
Xing Baohua nodded in agreement, and said with a smile, "You'd better be careful when you ask for support in the future, or you might just sell me off."
"Don't mind them, they also think it's very significant. Is this hard drive related to a major event, and they're trying to steal it?"
Xing Baohua nodded again and said, "I made a small deal with Lewell, a senior technical director at IBM, in Luzhong. I gave him some money, and he gave me some of IBM's research and development materials from over the years."
Dami has only been established for a few years. It lacks technology and people, so it's not easy for it to get to where it is now. IBM is different. It has decades of scientific research experience and has accumulated countless valuable assets.
"It was just the two of us talking to Lewells. I even used an electronic jammer, but unfortunately, the conversation was still leaked. You're an expert in this area, can you help me find it? I suspect there was a third party hiding around us during our conversation."
"Okay!" Captain Han nodded.
The two men smoked and drank, watching the lights on the buildings of Hong Kong Island twinkling like stars, a truly beautiful sight.
Then Captain Han said, "The higher-ups want to know if we can provide a backup."
"No problem, but it will take some time."
"Was the hard drive damaged in that incident?"
"No, it's because of the virus. This whole thing has me completely confused and I can't figure it out."
Captain Han said, "Tell me about it, and I'll help you analyze it."
"At first, I always thought that Levi's ideology was trying to swindle me out of money and that the data on the hard drive was fake. It wasn't until the guards who were picking up the goods were attacked that I realized there was a third party involved. Geng Rui sent me GCHQ, and I was even more confused as to how the people of the Great Eagle Empire knew about it."
When the Hong Kong Chief Executive spoke with the people from the Eagle Group stationed in J, they were even more confused, finding the situation utterly perplexing.
So Xing Baohua recounted his meeting with the Hong Kong Chief Executive. Theoretically, GCHQ wouldn't know the contents of the hard drive.
They didn't even know what they had stolen, and their people were merely used as tools.
Still completely bewildered, I'm gathering information everywhere to find out what happened.
Captain Han stretched out his arms and comfortably lay back on the sofa, saying, "Our external relations department received the message from HK, which was an order issued by GCHQ headquarters to the elite troops stationed in HK."
Orders are not usually issued directly to those above a certain level, so after I heard the news, I asked you about it. When you didn't reply, I had Geng Rui try to contact you.
It now appears that someone is trying to take advantage of the situation.
“I think so too. I even told the Hong Kong Chief Executive that if a conflict breaks out between our two sides, we should create tension between the two countries. The British are always concerned about their image. If relations become tense, do you think they might send a fleet over to save face for us?” Xing Baohua said with a smile.
"I think so. A bunch of people who are obsessed with saving face will only embarrass themselves more if they come," Captain Han said.
“I think so too, which is why the Hong Kong Chief Executive stepped in. But who is the one stirring up trouble behind the scenes?” Xing Baohua asked, as if talking to himself.
“I will send someone to Luzhong to do a detailed investigation. It’s a good opportunity to take advantage of the situation and maybe we can help you get rid of a few parasites.”
"Thank you. Geng Rui and the others are currently sorting out the viruses on the hard drive. It will take some time. Once they're done, they can take it north," Xing Baohua said.
"Thanks."
Xing Baohua didn't say anything, picked up the decanter and poured himself half a glass, then poured some for Captain Han.
This order of pouring wine may seem a bit impolite, but actually, this guy doesn't treat Captain Han like an outsider.
The two drank their wine, exchanging few words for a short time. The sea was relatively calm, with the occasional sound of a large ship's horn in the distance.
"Do you think they might try to steal it again?" Xing Baohua asked.
"Set a trap for them?" Captain Han said, then shook his head slightly and continued, "Hong Kong is out of the question, unless the person behind it sends a hired ping-pong team. But if they come, they'll be throwing their lives away! Not only will they be facing you, but also the elite troops stationed in Hong Kong. They'll have to turn the tables no matter what."
Xing Baohua nodded in agreement: "Indeed, if Hong Kong doesn't have a chance to make a move, then it really won't have one."
"If we can't take it by force, we'll use strategy. You need to set up a counter-espionage department in every department."
