Chapter 56 Buy a B License

Perhaps it was the blind box they opened today that put Liu Haibo and the other two in a bad mood, and they were not interested in the publishing and distribution business proposed by Xing Baohua.

But Xing Baohua was interested! Although it might require a lot of capital upfront, in the later stages, he could basically earn money passively.

It's still because he doesn't have the money; this is a difficult situation to navigate. If he had the money, Xing Baohua would rather acquire the digital rights to European and American films and songs first. Taking advantage of their lack of awareness of digital rights would be the best opportunity to acquire them at a low price.

They simultaneously made acquisitions and established a presence, waiting until the 1990s. Multimedia peripherals began to gain momentum, and the importance of electronic copyrights became apparent. At that point, they decided to sell a small portion of their shares to raise funds.

As for domestic electronic copyrights, Xing Baohua wanted to cover his face in embarrassment.

That's all for later; let's sell the hardware first. Since there's nothing else going on with Liu Haibo, Xing Baohua will leave now.

Sun Changjie, representing the other two, saw Xing Baohua off. As they walked to the door, he whispered to Xing Baohua, "What's the potential of that publishing and distribution company you mentioned?"

"Are you interested?" Xing Baohua asked in return.

"Not particularly interested, but I am interested in what you said about future restructuring. Where did you get this information?" Sun Changjie asked, being a second-generation rich kid and naturally sensitive to news. Even he didn't know this, but Xing Baohua did. He assumed it came from Su Ya, given the considerable power Su Ya possessed.

"This is an inevitable phenomenon. Haven't you seen that there's a contract system now? The reform I'm talking about is being able to run the company themselves, that's privatization." Xing Baohua lowered his voice very much when he said the last sentence.

Sun Changjie squinted, a slight smile playing on his lips, and gently shook his head, as if expressing his disapproval. He sighed and said, "Let's not talk about that now; it's impossible right now."

"Let me finish. Contracting is a transitional measure, including my factory. If private ownership is really allowed, I will abandon everything. Of course, there is a prerequisite: that others don't try to take advantage of me. If it really develops, some people will definitely be envious. What will we do then?" Xing Baohua said, spreading his hands.

“You see things quite clearly. If you can’t wait for permission to have sex, and someone else wants to take advantage of you, will you also shed your tail like a gecko?” Sun Changjie asked.

"No, I will endure the humiliation and wait until the day I am allowed to operate privately. My feeling is that I won't be wrong, it will be within the next few years. Changjie! Listen to me, you won't regret it. Publishing and distribution are really lucrative. It's just that I don't have the ability or the funds, otherwise I would do it too. When you start, count me in, no matter how much." Xing Baohua said earnestly. He then looked up at the sky, as if reminiscing about the past.

"I'll answer you about this later. There's no rush. Let me ask you something: have you and Su Ya officially started dating?"

"It's confirmed," Xing Baohua nodded.

"Treat Su Ya well. Su Ya has a maternal uncle who is a capable but ruthless man. Be careful if you ever run into him." Sun Changjie was giving Xing Baohua a piece of advice, but why he mentioned Su Ya's maternal uncle left Xing Baohua puzzled.

Xing Baohua rode his tuk-tuk home first, found his household registration book, and went to the XX Bureau to get his driver's license and vehicle registration.

When we arrived, the security guard helped us make a phone call, and after a while, a young man in a green uniform came out.

"What do you want?" the young man asked Xing Baohua as soon as he saw him.

Xing Baohua explained that he was introduced by a section chief from the municipal bureau, and also showed the other party a letter.

After reading the letter, the young man said, "Wait a moment."

He went to the guardhouse. A moment later, he came out with a piece of paper.

He said to Xing Baohua, "I've given you a slip of paper. Take this slip to the outside of the vehicle management office and find Xu Kang. Give him the slip, and he can handle everything for you."

After saying that, he left, and Xing Baohua didn't even have time to take out a cigarette.

I got a different slip without even realizing it. Fine, I'll go to the vehicle management office then.

After asking around the whole way, he finally found out where the vehicle management office was. When he arrived, he didn't go inside but looked for Xu Kang outside. Just as he parked the car, two people came over and asked, "Sir, what kind of business do you need?"

He asked questions while glancing at Xing Baohua's car. He was also scrutinizing Xing Baohua.

“I’m here to see Xu Kang. Do you know where he is?” Xing Baohua immediately realized that he had encountered a scalper.

"Over there, under the tree playing cards," one of the scalpers said, pointing to a group of three or five people squatting under a tree not far away, playing cards.

Xing Baohua pushed the cart over and said to the three or five people, "Who is Xu Kang?"

"What are you doing? Wait a minute, I'll finish this round." One of the middle-aged men replied, a cigarette tucked behind his ear and four or five pieces of paper stuck to his face. After speaking to Xing Baohua, he glanced at the cards hidden in his pocket, as if afraid someone would see how many cards he had left.

Xing Baohua lit a cigarette without any hurry, straddled the black crow, and watched them play cards.

After waiting for about fifteen minutes, Xu Kang tore the strip off his face, walked up to Xing Baohua, looked at his car, and asked, "What year is it?"

“Born in 1969,” Xing Baohua replied.

"Wow, it's so new! Where did you get it from? Are all the paperwork in order?" Xu Kang asked.

“The vehicles in the bureau’s inventory definitely have all the necessary paperwork; otherwise, they wouldn’t dare to process them,” Xing Baohua said.

“It’s okay if it’s not complete, we’ll just spend a little more money.” Xu Kang’s words immediately made Xing Baohua feel that all the hard work he had put into getting the paperwork and stamps was for nothing.

If he had known it would cost money, he wouldn't have bothered going through all that trouble. It was too much of a hassle.

"If you had told me earlier, I wouldn't have bothered with all the paperwork. You have no idea how much trouble I went through, running around for two days and getting seven or eight stamps. It exhausted me!" Xing Baohua complained.
