A week has passed since the Xu Shuai incident, and Xing Baohua visits him every day after get off work.
The child locked himself in his room, lay on the bed, and covered himself with a blanket. A small fan was spinning diligently in the room.
At first, Xing Baohua called out a couple of times, but left when there was no response. Fortunately, the child knew to wake up when he was hungry, ate a steamed bun, and went back to sleep.
He's probably just having trouble sleeping and overthinking. Let it be for now.
Xu Shuai didn't go to work at the factory this week, and there was no shortage of gossip about him. This is a big story, and people can't digest it all in a short time.
Of course, news of Xing Baohua's technical repairs of Hong Mingliang was also spreading. This factory was riddled with problems; nothing could be kept secret.
Seeing that Xu Shuai's current situation was not a solution, Xing Baohua instructed Liu Quan to keep an eye on the workshop and then went to Xu Shuai's house.
During this time, Xu's mother was overworked and cried every day. Her younger sister, Xu Yan, was obedient and stayed home with her mother during the summer vacation instead of going out to play.
"Brother." Xu Yan called out as Xing Baohua entered the room.
"Is your brother still the same?" Xing Baohua asked Xu Yan. Seeing his sister nod, Xing Baohua sighed softly.
He said to Xu's mother, who was sitting in a chair, "Auntie, I'm taking Xu Shuai out for a while to talk to him alone and give him some advice."
"Okay, you have to talk to him and give him a good talking-to. I've been worried about him every day, afraid that he might do something rash." As she spoke, Xu's mother started to cry.
"Don't worry, Auntie. How could someone as resilient as Xu Shuai be so irritable? He's just feeling down right now. I'll talk to him and he'll be fine." After comforting Xu's mother, Xing Baohua went into Xu Shuai's room.
Walking to the bedside, Xing Baohua simply pulled back the blanket.
Xu Shuai glanced at him, then turned away.
“You can lie here as long as you want,” Xing Baohua said, seeing that Xu Shuai didn’t react. She continued:
"Want a drink? I'll keep you company. Remember when I was feeling down? I drank too. After I sobered up, you said you didn't recognize me. Want to try a different way of life?"
Xu Shuai hasn't taken care of himself lately; his hair looks like a bird's nest, and his eyelids are dark with a reddish tinge, either from staying up all night or secretly crying until his eyes are red.
"Get up, I'll take you somewhere to clean yourself up first. We're about to face a new life, so we have to live well for them."
Xu Shuai finally moved, slowly getting out of bed and sitting on the edge of the bed, his eyes half-closed as he looked at Xing Baohua.
“We’re brothers, your business is my business. I’ll help you get revenge, but the time isn’t right yet. Listen to me, get yourself ready, I’ll take you somewhere first, and when we get back, we’ll have a good drink and get thoroughly drunk. When you wake up, you’ll find that you’re not the same Xu Shuai you used to be.”
After Xing Baohua finished speaking, he patted Xu Shuai on the shoulder and saw that Xu Shuai's lips were trembling as he tried to speak, but he couldn't say anything.
He took a cigarette out of his pocket, lit it, and put it in Xu Shuai's mouth.
Xing Baohua turned and left, giving Xu Shuai the time it takes to smoke a cigarette to think.
Riding the black crow, Xu Shuai galloped towards Shanggu Village.
The factory buildings have been completed, and the outer walls are being painted. The dilapidated straw rope factory has now been completely transformed.
The original gate has been repainted black, and it shines with a black sheen under the sunlight.
A white sign with black lettering hangs beside the main gate. It reads vertically: Shangguzhuang Primary School Private Electronics Factory.
I rode my bike directly into the yard and saw that there was a lot of construction waste in the factory yard, which had not been cleaned up yet.
Xing Baohua and Xu Shuai got out of the car. They looked around. Xu Shuai, in particular, seemed confused and didn't ask Xing Baohua why she had brought him here.
"See that?" Xing Baohua said to Xu Shuai, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at the tall factory building.
"What?"
"My factory. The factory I invested in and built?"
"..." Xu Shuai didn't speak, glancing at Xing Baohua with surprise. Actually, he didn't know what to ask either.
Xing Baohua tilted her head and looked at him sideways, thinking to herself, "No need to force him to drink anymore, he's changed."
In the past, Xu Shuai would definitely have asked three questions in a row: "When did you start the factory? I didn't know. Why did you start the factory?"
Xu Shuai is now taciturn.
"I used the money from selling audio equipment to start this factory. You might ask why I started this factory. Actually, the ultimate goal is to be my own boss and make my own money."
Xu Shuai remained silent. He also turned his head to look at Xing Baohua.
"Hehe, you want to ask why I'm still working at the machine factory now that I have a factory? It's a trade-off, you'll understand later."
After saying that, Xing Baohua stood side by side with Xu Shuai, patted Xu Shuai on the shoulder and said, "Believe me, this electronics factory will expand three to five times within five years."
Seeing that Xu Shuai remained silent and was staring intently at the factory, his eyes were somewhat fixed on the spot.
Xing Baohua put his arm around his neck and said, "I know you're upset, but you have to pull yourself together. Let those who look down on us watch us make money. Should we work together, or should you go to the oil field? Either way, I respect your choice."
Xing Baohua released Xu Shuai, walked to the black crow, took out a cigarette, lit it, and waited for Xu Shuai to think it over.
A moment later, Xu Shuai walked up to Xing Baohua, took the cigarette from his hand, took a deep drag, and said to Xing Baohua, "I'll work with you?"
“No, it’s about us working together? Everyone who works in the factory gets a share, making them feel like they’re running the factory for themselves. Maybe you don’t understand this model yet, but you will later.” Xing Baohua chuckled and said, “Come on, let’s go for a drink. After we get drunk, I’ll cheer you up.”
