This is a good hope; we need to put in a little more effort to finally break through.
I kept kicking the exhaust fan forward until I saw the wooden grille, and then I breathed a sigh of relief.
When Lao Wang came out and breathed in the fresh air, his legs were a little weak and he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.
While catching my breath, I observed the surroundings. Seeing quite a few cars, it seemed like a two-level underground parking garage.
I crawled forward for a while, but I was still exhausted!
My legs were sore and weak that I couldn't muster any strength, and my thigh muscles were trembling as if in spasms.
I took out my pager, checked it, and there was no signal.
After finally climbing behind a car, he took out a small safety pin from his pocket, squatted down, and walked to the car door.
The car door was quickly opened, and he climbed in to find the wire under the steering wheel. These skills were a piece of cake for a veteran agent.
After starting the car, I drove off quickly.
Once he reached the ground, rushed over the railing, and got onto the road, Old Wang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Unbeknownst to Lao Wang, on the second floor of the underground parking garage, in another area, five or six people were sitting in a van resembling a Toyota Coaster, looking at a floor plan. Geng Rui, holding a pen, was discussing countermeasures with the others.
Old Wang made several turns, casually abandoned the car on the roadside, and drove into the residential area, disappearing into the neighborhood.
He sent a message to Geng Rui but didn't receive a reply, which made him feel uneasy.
Old Wang waited for news for over an hour without receiving a reply. He had planned to go to the safe house, but then he thought that perhaps the people he was in contact with weren't safe either.
A safe house isn't necessarily safe; find somewhere to hide first.
Geng Rui and her colleagues on JD.com's dark web devised a plan to launch a full-scale attack. The initial plan was to storm the front door, but unfortunately, Geng Rui didn't know the password. However, she did know how to get down the elevator to the head of the data department's office.
So he also chose to go down the elevator. Firstly, and secondly, maybe Lao Wang was still waiting for rescue inside the elevator shaft.
When everyone arrived at the third basement level, they saw Old Zhang still lying there, with bloodstains beneath him.
Geng Rui said, "Two people were sent back to the car first. We had to take him back to China no matter what."
The remaining four, including Geng Rui, carefully walked towards the elevator, weapons in hand. Because Xiao Pang and the others had gone down in a hurry, they hadn't bothered to disguise the elevator doors.
Geng Rui pressed the button and observed her surroundings while waiting for the elevator.
When the elevator arrived, Geng Rui didn't go in first. She held the elevator door open with one hand, letting one person in first to check the exit on the top of the elevator. Sure enough, all the screws were missing. With a simple push, the cover opened. Climbing up to inspect, she saw a lot of sawdust.
I found the ventilation opening easily, which put my mind at ease. I went downstairs to explain the situation to Geng Rui; Old Wang had most likely gone out through the ventilation duct.
"Follow the ventilation duct. If you reach the surface, don't come back," Geng Rui instructed. After seeing the Dark Web member climb back up, she was about to call people into the elevator when the vigilant Dark Web member behind her pointed to the indicator light above the elevator.
A flashing equilateral triangle indicates that someone wants to come up.
Geng Rui released the button and made a crossfire motion.
She stood right next to the button, while the other two stepped back a few paces, each holding an Uzi on either side, aiming it at the elevator door.
The elevator arrived shortly after, and as soon as the doors opened, Geng Rui pressed the button again. Before the people inside could react, *zzzzzz*...
A gunshot rang out, sounding like a chainsaw. The Uzi has one of the most distinctive features: its extremely high rate of fire. If you hold the trigger and don't let go, you can empty the magazine in almost a second.
Before the seven or eight people in the elevator could react, they were all wiped out by two Uzi rifles firing at them in a crossfire. The short, fat guy at the front took almost all the bullets.
As the two Dark Web users reloaded, Geng Rui attacked from the side, holding an Uzi in one hand and pressing the elevator button with the other, unleashing another burst of fire.
The battle ended in that instant.
"Blow up the elevator. Let's evacuate." After saying that, Geng Rui took the lead and headed towards the door to stand guard.
A short while later, the two colleagues from the dark web who had escorted Lao Zhang also came down. They asked, "Aren't you going to find the other colleague?"
“He’s not down there. That chubby guy is looking for him too. Maybe he’s already escaped safely. Let’s split up and look for him.” Geng Rui was the first to walk out.
As soon as they stepped out of the section chief's office, they heard a loud bang. The person inside the ventilation duct was nearly knocked off; that thing was incredibly difficult to climb.
Once Geng Rui reached the second floor, she drove the car to the ground floor, exited the Nikon Building, and sent one of her men, Lao Zhang, to take the car to the safe house. The remaining people, however, observed the surrounding area from across the Nikon Building.
They said the Metropolitan Police Department officers should have arrived by now, but there's been no sign of them. Has no one called the police?
Once on the ground, the signal was back on. Geng Rui received a message from Lao Wang and breathed a sigh of relief; both people and the data were safe.
Geng Rui instructed Lao Wang to go to safe house number 3 first.
Then we waited for the other team member to arrive. We waited for almost an hour before we received the message.
The other members of the dark web dispersed on the spot. Geng Rui took a taxi to the vicinity of safe house No. 3, and only went in after checking that no one was there.
When Geng Rui saw Lao Wang, she said, "You've worked hard."
Old Wang moved his lips and asked, "Is Old Zhang not coming back?"
Geng Rui nodded with a serious expression. Seeing that Lao Wang had taken out a hard drive and sat down wearily, his hand trembling as he took out a cigarette, Geng Rui lit it for him herself and said, "You can rest here for now. We will arrange for you to leave the country as soon as it gets light."
After saying this, Geng Rui left. She then called Xing Baohua back to explain the situation.
Xing Baohua told Geng Rui that those who needed to be evacuated should do so immediately. A special plane would land at the airport soon, and his guards had arrived and were to follow Geng Rui's instructions.
