Chapter 71 Su Xiaoya by Daming Lake

(Pack, continue)

Xing Baohua was too embarrassed to ask his sister-in-law, knowing that this second-generation rich kid wasn't exaggerating. Judging from his recent antics, he did have some influence; otherwise, an amount of 150,000 was something most people couldn't achieve.

"Is Juanzi settling in well with you? She's just a girl who just finished school, it's normal for her to make mistakes. Just teach her a little more." Liu Haibo asked.

"Look at what you're saying, nobody's born knowing how to do that. You can learn slowly. I'm keeping an eye on it too. By the way, Brother Bo, get a few bicycles for the factory to use as company vehicles. It'll be convenient for running errands." Xing Baohua said.

"So generous! Okay, this is easy to handle. I won't keep you company today, I'm a bit tired." Liu Haibo said with a smile, a hint of pride on his lips. Xing Baohua instantly understood.

"Then you rest, I'll come back when I have time." Xing Baohua said and walked towards the door, and his sister-in-law followed to see him off and close the door.

Back at the factory, they found Director Liu and obtained a letter of introduction. With this letter, the two old men could now legitimately stay at the machinery factory's guesthouse.

He instructed Liu Quan to oversee production, as he was going to the provincial capital. He also asked Liu Quan to pick up the two elderly men and bring them to the factory's guesthouse.

As the saying goes, nothing is more likely to happen by chance.

Xing Baohua hadn't seen Su Ya for a while, and even Heaven couldn't bear to see it anymore. So, she was placed on the train to the provincial capital.

Xing Baohua, who was just looking for her seat with her ticket, saw Su Ya standing on the seat and putting things on the luggage rack.

If he hadn't been familiar with Suyat, he would have thought someone else looked similar.

"Suya?"

"Hey!" Su Ya tossed her braid and turned around, completely stunned.

Suddenly, she threw herself into Xing Baohua's arms. Whether from surprise or something else, tears were welling up in her eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Suya asked in surprise.

How can such a coincidence be explained? Xing Baohua also told the truth: "I went to the provincial capital to see Zhang Xuebao about something. What about you? What are you doing in the provincial capital?"

"My grandfather's birthday is tomorrow," Su Ya said, getting out of Xing Baohua's arms and pulling him to sit down. Fortunately, many people got off the train in central Shandong, so there were plenty of empty seats.

"Just you alone!" Xing Baohua asked, glancing around to make sure his father-in-law or mother-in-law didn't suddenly appear, which would be awkward.

“My mom is currently on a business trip in the provincial capital, and my dad is in the Northwest, so he probably won’t have time to come back.” Su Ya changed the subject as she spoke.

"What have you been busy with lately? I've gone to the workshop several times looking for you, but you weren't there. Is it really like what they said, that you're not working and just going out to play?" Su Ya asked.

"You actually believe that?! I'm genuinely busy. I'm in the provincial capital now seeking technical support." Xing Baohua was embarrassed to tell his girlfriend that he owns a factory. He does skip work sometimes, but he doesn't care about playing around. He doesn't know who made up the rumor.

So busy I don't even have time to eat. And she's still playing games? The girl might be able to play, but she can't afford to, and she doesn't have the guts.

"Why don't you stay in the provincial capital for a few days, and we can go have some fun the day after tomorrow?" Su Ya said to Xing Baohua.

"Okay," Xing Baohua nodded in agreement. He had just been thinking about this, but the girl brought it up directly. "Play? How?"

Forget it, I'm too timid. Especially for decent girls, I can't afford to take this!

Having company made me feel less lonely, and time flew by so quickly that we arrived in the provincial capital before I knew it.

The provincial capital's railway station has a Baroque style and was once the largest railway station in Asia. It was also featured in the architecture textbooks of Tsinghua University and Tongji University.

The train station was built in a grand and expansive style, with the spiral windows of the clock tower visible from afar. The ticket hall doors were those with large arched windows.

The roof tiles are interspersed with many small triangular skylights, which have a beautiful curve and also increase the brightness of the interior.

This style of large train station is extremely rare in China. The Germans left three famous buildings in this city: one was the largest train station in Asia at the time; the second was the Yellow River Bridge to the north, a pure steel structure still in use today; and the third was the Honglou Cathedral.

These buildings, though beautiful, represent a disgrace in modern times, a helpless lament for the nation.

As soon as Su Ya stepped out of the station exit, someone waved and called out to her.

Xing Baohua looked over and saw a girl and two young men. He waved and called out to the girl.

Su Ya waved happily to them. Then she said to Xing Baohua, "Have you remembered the time and place? Meet me at 8:30 a.m. the day after tomorrow at the moat by the west gate of Daming Lake."

After saying that, he took the luggage from Xing Baohua and joined the other people.

Xing Baohua remained standing there, thinking: "Lotus flowers on all four sides, willows on three, Su Xiaoya by the Daming Lake?"

It's kind of poetic to think about.

“Xiaofang, who is that person! The train is crowded and chaotic now, so be careful. You can’t just talk to anyone. I heard that human traffickers lure people to the south to do hard labor, and some are even tricked into becoming wives in the mountains,” said one of the young men in his twenties.

“I understand, Brother Tan. He’s my colleague, in the provincial capital on business. It was a coincidence.” Su Ya said with a smile, but the smile was a little strange. It was as if she was laughing inside.

"Why bother lying? It's already in his bowl." This is also why Su Ya wanted to laugh, but unfortunately she couldn't say it because she was in front of her cousins.

Following the address Zhang Xuebao had given him, Xing Baohua went to the train station and asked an old man wearing an armband for directions. Just as he was about to ask, the old man rushed towards a young man spitting. A fine of 2 mao (0.2 yuan) was imposed.

After paying the fine, the old man was probably in a good mood. He told Xing Baohua which bus to take and advised him to pay attention to the bus stop signs so he wouldn't miss his stop.

Xing Baohua squeezed onto the No. 18 bus, which was indeed very crowded, the kind of crowded where people are packed together.
