Disguised as plainclothes officers, it doesn't matter if you speak Hokkien, English, or Malay.
The guards from the mainland didn't know what the plainclothes officers in Singapore would wear or what their identification would look like, but the locals probably did. So they copied what they saw, made two or three ID cards to hang around their necks, and attached photos to them. Anyway, it was just a temporary bluff, and they wouldn't give the other side time to check their authenticity.
The three-person group walked over and knocked on the window of the Mercedes-Benz van. The first two identified themselves as environmental officers and said they were going to be fined for littering cigarette butts, asking the other party to show their identification.
Although English is the mainstream language in Singapore, people of yellow noodle origin don't speak English when they meet. They either speak Hokkien, Cantonese, or Mandarin in both languages.
It was clear that the pharmaceutical company employee who came to help spoke Hokkien, which the other party did not understand. They then tried speaking Malay, and finally spoke English, which the other party finally understood.
The people inside the Mercedes van then apologized, saying they would be more careful in the future.
When the employee who came to help said that a fine would be imposed, the other party actually took out several hundred-dollar bills and gave the others a wink.
Upon receiving the signal to attack, the people hidden nearby immediately surrounded the van.
The person helping was pulled back, while the others pulled out their weapons and made the people in the car get out!
The people inside the car were also bewildered. It was just a cigarette butt, why would they hold a gun to someone's head? Besides, were the officers carrying weapons?
One of the people in the car complained in Japanese to the person who took the money, saying, "You shouldn't have bribed him. There are strict requirements for government officials here. If you give too little money, they'll arrest you. If you give too much, they'll invite you for tea. A few hundred dollars would make them think you're insulting them."
If you can vaguely hear Japanese, then you don't need to hold back.
All four of them helped out, splitting into three cars, and went directly to a small factory north of Seletar Airport, with the sea right behind the factory.
There's also a small shipyard repair workshop nearby, where they repair small speedboats.
By observing the darkness, locals know the patrol boat's schedule. It only takes twenty minutes to travel by boat from Singapore to Johor Bahru.
Although separated by the sea, it's just across a river, a little over a kilometer wide. As long as you evade the patrol boats between the two countries and get to Johor Bahru where someone will meet you, even if you're discovered, it'll be fine.
You can't settle things with people over there if you don't have money, but if you give them a few hundred US dollars, they'll treat you like royalty.
Once they arrived in Malaysia and entered a safe area, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, there was no need for interrogation; on the way there, the other party had already explained their identities to the employee who had helped them.
They said they were from the Japanese Intelligence and Information Section and requested to see the head of the Security Division.
Little did they know, these people were all in disguise. They only revealed their identities because they thought they were all government officials, and as a result, they were kidnapped and brought to Malaysia.
You wouldn't dare to take action in Singapore, but in Malaysia, you could scream your lungs out and no one would listen to you.
