George nodded and said to his two men, "I'll arrange a meeting with Henry. We need a plan to discuss the matter Xing entrusted to us. If negotiations with him fail, we'll have to try other manufacturers."
“To paraphrase Xing, we can’t put all our eggs in one basket,” Brier said.
“I’ve said it before, you can’t put all the vegetables in one basket. I still don’t understand why vegetables can’t be put in one basket?” Petermont said, laughing as he spoke.
Little did anyone know, Xing Baohua was also having some worries about Pitmont's sound system.
Three sets are already assembled. Three more sets can be assembled in another week. Once we have ten sets, we can ship them out.
I'm currently a bit worried about shipping the goods.
The independent account and export qualification haven't been obtained yet. After inquiring around, there are only two options: one is to use the postal service, and the other is to find a foreign trade company to handle the shipping.
The postal route is basically blocked; the required procedures are excessive. Whether it's an individual or an electronics factory using the postal service, the endorsement of the local government is needed.
Xing Baohua hates running around with paperwork the most and won't do it unless absolutely necessary. Unless he finds someone knowledgeable in this area to do it for him.
Xing Baohua was unwilling to deal with foreign trade partners. He could only urge Zhang Haitao to expedite the export license application process.
Arriving at Liu Haibo's little place, it was perfect timing; all three of them were there too.
After sitting down and discussing the matter, Liu Haibo said, "What's there to worry about! Don't you know Changjie's family has connections in the Navy?"
"Sorry, I really didn't know. I'm not from the archives department, how would I know your background? Changjie, I'm leaving this matter to you. Selling it will be the factory's profit. You have to take it seriously!" Xing Baohua said with a wry smile.
This is the benefit of having the second generation invest: you can leave your headaches to them. They have connections and resources; they might just solve your problem with a single phone call.
“How about this, I have a cousin who works at a foreign trade company in Luqing. You’ll be exporting frequently in the future, so you can leave these things to her,” Sun Changjie said.
Xing Baohua understood what Sun Changjie meant. He said that once the export license was obtained, they would need someone knowledgeable in the field, and entrusting it to his cousin would save them trouble.
After a moment's thought, Xing Baohua said, "Isn't it a bit far?"
“What I mean is to give her some shares, letting her be fully responsible for your export business. This is equivalent to you setting up your own department, not having to go through her company’s channels. Assign two people to manage the department. Once it’s established, things will be much easier.” After Sun Changjie explained things to this point, Xing Baohua could only agree.
After discussing it with the three of them, which can be considered a shareholders' meeting, we decided to give them 0.3% of the shares. Zhang Taoming even said it was stingy.
Even this was considered too much by Xing Baohua. If it weren't for long-term development and using shares to pave the way for future growth, would Xing Baohua have been willing to give so much?
The issue of the exported goods will be left to Sun Changjie. He said he'd have his cousin come over to sign the agreement.
Xing Baohua was also thinking about whether he should try to persuade his cousin to give him some real money in exchange for shares when she came.
Let's talk about it when he arrives. If we really need money, we'll ask Zhang Taoming to help us get a loan from the bank.
Before leaving, he asked Liu Haibo where there was a symphony orchestra in the city.
Liu Haibo said, "We don't have any large ones, but we do have small ones; they belong to the city's art troupe."
Please ask Liu Haibo to help me make contact; I'll need it in a while.
Liu Haibo retorted, "What do you need a symphony orchestra for?"
So he told Liu Haibo about composing the three pieces. After the scores were finished and the symphony orchestra practiced them, they started recording them on records and tapes.
Liu Haibo also chimed in, offering to help with the contact and covering all expenses with the publisher.
Xing Baohua returned to the machinery factory and went to check on Su Ya first. He saw Hu Jiangyan in the office, called Su Ya out, and asked, "Can I use those floppy disks that Zhang Xuebao gave you?"
"Wait a moment, I'll get it for you." He said, turning back.
A moment later, Su Ya handed the floppy disk to Xing Baohua and said, "You, you were at the repair shop this afternoon?"
"Yes, we're going to test the computer motherboard over there today. If it powers on successfully, we'll try installing the operating system," Xing Baohua said, waving the floppy disk in his hand.
Suya gently bit her lip, as if she had something to say.
Xing Baohua didn't think much of it, assuming the girl was just being a little temperamental. Seeing that no one was in the hallway, he pinched her cheek and said, "Come find me after work, I'll take you home."
Suya nodded slightly, but couldn't bring herself to say what she wanted to say.
Seeing Xing Baohua walk into the computer room, he thought for a moment and followed.
Xing Baohua greeted the workers who were specifically responsible for copying calculator chips.
Tell the person in charge to temporarily shut down the machine, as he needs to inspect the computer.
First, copy a few system floppy disks onto the computer, then shut down the computer. Tell the person in charge that there's a problem with the floppy drive, and he'll take it back to the repair shop.
As he spoke, he took out tools from his tool bag and began to disassemble the machine.
The person in charge of copying the chips didn't dare to ask, since Xing Baohua was now a big shot. Nominally, he was still his direct superior, and the copying of chips in the computer room was managed by the Fifth Workshop.
Xing Baohua was at a loss; the motherboard lacked many accessories, especially since he was worried that the pre-installed operating system might be incompatible or even nonexistent. He could only move the floppy drive over as a precaution, just in case, to install a system whenever needed.
If the system runs smoothly, it means the motherboard is working properly. Then, install the casing and figure out how to get some other parts. That's how you assemble a computer.
So the person in charge watched as Xing Baohua removed the floppy drive, picked up the keyboard, and walked out of the computer room.
Su Ya saw Xing Baohua disassembling the computer at the door and smiled slightly. She didn't know why he was taking the computer apart, but it certainly wasn't because there was something wrong with the components, as he claimed.
