Chapter 88 Fabrication

Seeing Xing Baohua hesitate for a moment, Aunt Li said, "The instructor is sent by the school free of charge, so your unit doesn't need to worry about anything. He'll just be there to guide the students."

Having said all that, Xing Baohua had no choice but to agree. At the same time, Xing Baohua thought to himself, "I hope the person going over isn't some old man."

"When should the students go?" Aunt Li asked.

"The space is still being cleaned; it was just rented today. We still need to buy some office chairs and such. I'm not sure about the timing. Should I come over in a couple of days to let you know?" Xing Baohua said.

To everyone's surprise, the head of the teaching affairs office, an older woman, said directly, "Our school has plenty of desks and chairs. Have the student council members deliver them to you. The graduating students don't have many classes anyway, so let them get some work experience. I'll have someone contact you in a bit, and you can arrange the work for them."

This good news seemed like a windfall; Xing Baohua could hardly believe it. Are all universities this generous?

Subsequently, Xing Baohua signed an agreement with the school, under which the school organized students from impoverished families to earn wages through extracurricular work.

As the employer, Xing Baohua is responsible for ensuring the safety and living conditions of the students.

This fee was distributed entirely by the school.

In other words, Xing Baohua handed over all the labor fees to the school, which then distributed them on his behalf.

Well, the school is giving out money? No wonder this lady was so enthusiastic!

"Luo Yan, hurry to the student union! There's a part-time job there, and lots of students have applied!" Qianqian, a female student, rushed into the dormitory to tell her friend.

"We just finished lunch, what's all this fuss about?" one of Luo Yan's roommates asked, disgruntled.

"It seems like there are part-time jobs available. Shall we ask?"

Luo Yan had just put her lunchbox on the table when she saw her friend run over and asked, "What kind of part-time job?"

"I heard that a publishing house is making an animation and needs illustrators. They recruit students from disadvantaged families through schools to earn living allowances or something." After Qianqian finished speaking, she winked at Luo Yan.

As soon as she finished speaking, several of her roommates had already rushed out.

After everyone left, Qianqian said, "Senior Brother Chen asked me to tell you that he has reserved a spot for you. It doesn't matter whether you go or not."

"I hate it when he makes decisions for me without my consent. It's none of his business!" Luo Yan said with a dissatisfied expression.

"That's a good thing, since it's a part-time job anyway. I heard that people who work part-time at night get 20 yuan a month? That's 15 yuan in cash and 5 yuan worth of food coupons!"

"So many! Didn't you ask Senior Brother Chen to sign you up?" Luo Yan asked her friend after hearing that the offer was good.

"Of course! Let's go take a look." Qianqian pulled Luo Yan and walked outside.

Xing Baohua waited for Director Wang in the unused second floor of the teachers' college. Soon after, he arrived with two middle-aged women and three elderly men. Xing Baohua then briefly discussed matters concerning the school.

"Should we just send them back?" Director Wang said, looking at the people he brought.

“Give each person 50 cents as compensation and let them go back. We have free services,” Xing Baohua said.

"I only pay them six cents a day for each of them, and they take five cents back for doing nothing. What's wrong with your brain?" Director Wang didn't know what to say to Xing Baohua after hearing his suggestion.

"Then let them work with the students; it won't make a difference in price anyway."

And so, the cleaning ladies and gentlemen began their work. After a while, a student council member arrived with a dozen or so students, all of whom brought their own tools.

The fourteen large offices were cleaned up in a day and a half, and then more than a dozen sets of desks and chairs were brought in.

Director Wang and screenwriter Li also came over. They planned to hold a meeting that evening when there were more people to set the tone. The "Treasure Ship of the Ming Dynasty" project officially began.

The name is a bit rustic, but the meaning is roughly there. This is another hodgepodge, so the name shouldn't be too flashy.

The only screenwriter made one request: that his name not be credited on screen, since the story was given by Xing Baohua, so he should be credited as Xing Baohua.

Since the screenwriter doesn't want to appear on screen, it doesn't matter if he writes about Xing Baohua, since nobody knows Xing Baohua anyway. Even if someone criticizes him, he probably won't hear it, since they're not in the same industry.

Xing Baohua is now just waiting for the style of the painting to be finalized before he goes back.

As evening fell, people gradually arrived, and he met the person he was looking for.

The girl saw him as soon as she entered, and was slightly taken aback, a little flustered. Fortunately, her friends behind her gave her some courage, allowing her to continue walking inside to find a seat.

"Don't be afraid of him. These are all our classmates. He wouldn't dare to do anything to you even if he had ten lives. When Senior Brother Chen comes over later, I'll talk to him and have him take you home after this is over," Qianqian whispered to Luo Yan.

"Okay." Luo Yan could only grit her teeth and agree, though she was actually a little flustered inside, just like Qianqian had said a few days ago: "He could kill you with one slap."

Anyone who messes with that size will think twice.

Screenwriter Li was in charge of explaining the scene and had each student take notes. Then Director Wang started dividing the students into groups, and each group was assigned scenes for each scene.

The twenty students were divided into six groups. Some drew scenes of the sea, some drew the main characters, some drew warships floating on the waves, some drew naval battles, and so on.

Evenings go by so quickly! The work was assigned, and the students were off work on time.

Xing Baohua watched as the girl was about to leave, then pointed and said, "Come here!"
