Chapter 99 Blind Date? Just a Formal Meeting

Xing Baohua was unaware of his parents' strange actions. Since he was home, he decided to stay home and not go out for the time being.

I sat on the study desk by the bed and began to think about the structure of the sound card.

In addition to the sound card's analog software, noise reduction can only be implemented through hardware, which involves the conversion between digital and analog signals.

Once I have an idea, I start writing it down.

When Xing Ma ran to Wang Po's house, she pulled Wang Po aside and said, "My son is back. That teacher you mentioned last time, I think he's quite good. Go ask him if he's free today and arrange for the two of them to meet."

"Why rush into a blind date? Besides, the other person has to go to work right now!" Granny Wang said with dissatisfaction. It's not like she's going to the market to buy radishes and pick one out herself.

Knowing that Xing Baohua was busy, Granny Wang sighed, put down what she was doing, and went to the girl's house to talk to them first.

When Xing's mother returned home, she started cleaning and tidying up the house, making it spotless. She even cleaned Xing Baohua's room, but seeing that Xing Baohua was busy writing, she didn't say anything to disturb her.

The girl's house wasn't far away, only a twenty-minute walk. When Wang Po told the girl's family, the boy she had introduced last time happened to be home. If he was suitable, she would go and meet him today.

The woman's family also felt it was a bit rushed; it would have been better to find a day off. Even though it's autumn and the sunset is slower, their daughter won't get home from work until 5 pm. Should they eat there or not if they rush over?

Granny Wang said the boy was a high-ranking leader, the workshop director, at a machinery factory. He was so busy he was rarely seen. His father had to work his way up to workshop director over two or three decades. Just imagine how much room for advancement this young man had for the future! Such a good young man should be seized upon.

Besides, the girl is only one year older than Xing Baohua. There's not much of an age difference; even if the girl is three years older, it's still considered auspicious.

They've started dating, and the man will be twenty next year, which is when he can get married.

The old woman was still talking about the old traditional marriage rules, even though the marriage age of 20 for men and 18 for women was abolished in 1981.

Nowadays, men are at least 22 years old and women are at least 20. Whether Wang Po knows this is another matter.

After much effort, the woman's family was persuaded. Wang Po then went back to inform the man's family to make preparations.

Xing's father rode his bicycle to his second aunt's house. Last time his cousin came to his house, he talked about his child's situation, implying that since everyone in his family were workers, they should find a way to help their nephew, even if it was just temporary work.

Mr. Xing bought a bag of apples and first went to see his second aunt, who is currently the only living elder in his family and his own aunt.

Every time I come, I bring something for the old lady.

After chatting with the old lady for a while, I went to my cousin's place to explain my purpose and asked my nephew to come to his place the next day. His cousin had found him a temporary job.

The woman Xing Baohua was introduced to was named Zou Wenting. She graduated from the provincial music academy, but unfortunately, she was a sponsored student and only studied for two years. Regardless of her qualifications, she was still a college graduate, which was considered highly educated in those days.

The job I was assigned after returning was also very good; I worked at the Seventh Middle School in the city.

She has delicate features and a slender build. When she smiles, she not only has a small dimple but also a small canine tooth.

She looks a lot like Xia Yuhe's daughter, Princess Ziwei, from the shores of Daming Lake.

When she got home, her mother started dressing her up, leaving her completely bewildered, wondering what was going on.

"Blind dates?" Actually, Zou Wenjuan has no shortage of suitors, but she is somewhat averse to blind dates.

She wanted to refuse, but her mother just followed what Wang Po said, saying how great boys are.

The youngest workshop director in the machinery factory, with a bright future ahead of him.

Well, the matchmaker only said the good things, completely ignoring the recent rumors about Xing Baohua.

"Mom, this is the last time! I'll find my own partner, really. Don't introduce me to anyone else after this," Zou Wenjuan said, bargaining. She was just curious why she was in such a hurry to meet someone this time, as if she herself was destined to remain single.

All the single teachers at the school wrote to me, especially during my time at the school. But none of them caught my eye.

Xing Baohua was busy writing, holding a cigarette in one hand and a pen in the other, deep in thought, jotting down any ideas that came to mind in his notebook.

The door opened, and Mom first told Xing Baohua to get dressed and come to the living room in a bit.

"We have guests. Change your clothes quickly," Xing's mother urged Xing Baohua to change.

A little confused, Xing Baohua thought that there were really guests coming to her house and she had to greet them. Even if she were to greet them, she didn't need to change her clothes!

I quickly changed my clothes and went to the living room. I saw a girl sitting on the sofa; she looked familiar.

Xing Baohua smiled slightly at Xing Baohua, which reminded Xing Baohua of someone.

That was a movie star from later generations. Unfortunately, that movie star didn't have those cute little tiger teeth.

"This is Zou Wenjuan, a teacher from No. 7 Middle School. This is Xing Baohua, the director of the machinery factory. You two chat for a while!" Granny Wang introduced the two sides before going out with Xing's mother.

There were only the two of them in the whole house.

Xing Baohua scratched the back of his head, completely bewildered. What was going on? Why did a teacher from No. 7 Middle School want to see him?

"Is something the matter?" Xing Baohua asked tentatively.

The girl's captivating smile sent a shiver down Xing Baohua's spine; she was indeed beautiful. But that was all—beauty. They had no real connection.

Just like the beautiful woman in the photo, you can only look at her, what can you do about it?

"Don't you know why I'm here?" the girl said with a smile, her dimples and cute little tiger teeth making her incredibly adorable.

"I don't know?" Xing Baohua said, sitting down as well.

He then said to the girl, "If you have something to say, just say it. I'm very busy too."

"Haha! It's good that you don't know. I'm fine. That's all, I'm going back now." Zou Wenjuan said as she stood up.
